Is it for real ? So alive, and so sudden
25 September 2019
I was touched by the simplicity and how reels it feels. Prior to watching, I didn't know the ending, and I was expecting him to recover. With such a solid and nice body, with such a positive attitude toward life. So it was a strong shock to see this healthy man going heavily affected by his sickness in such a short period of time. You realize then it can happen to anyone, any time. We take our life, our health for granted, our everyday life. As he said, some complains about having a black spot on their face, and I have cancer... It puts things in perspective. It takes courage to see death coming. It takes a shift, and most of us don't see it coming until the very end.

Disappointed

What I like: I like the main actor, and the first few minutes looks very promising, with an unexpected mix of science fiction. The scene in Belgium was very nice too (the love affair with the Pakistan guy) I also liked the critics against religion all all its nonsense.

What I don't like: The main actor is just overacting, with his wide open eyes. it may looks funny for a few minutes, but then it looks dumb for the whole movie. I tried to like the movie, but I couldn't. It is supposed to be funny, but every joke falls flat on the ground, they are for 8 years old kids.

Overall: There were a few good ideas in this movie, like communicating without words, just holding hands, and criticizing the religion nonsense; but the movie direction looks like a joke, and not a funny one.

What I like: The main character loves running, and I love it, it taste like Forrest Gump. From running, the character moves to be a rebel, and it gives an unexpected direction to the movie, from sport to crime/action. The main actor is good.

What I don't like: The movie is long, many scenes could have been shorter. The exciting scenes get lost in the mass. After watching this, I didn't feel good or excited or sad. The main character's life seems to be a nonsense, a wastage.

Overall: It's nice they produced a movie about this historical drama in India. It gives an idea about how things were going on back then. But it ends flat and I was expecting more thrills from all this twisted story.

What I like: Great scenes, great pictures, nice landscape: the movie looks good. Even the actors all have a memorable face, and look good on the camera. The story idea is nice, to play a sport game Indians never played against long time British players. This makes it funny also to see those unconventional players.

What I don't like: However, the action is slow and not much happens. The storyline is very much predictable, no surprises. If you don't know Cricket rules, you will still be confused how to play this game.

Overall conclusion: It's a nice movie to look at, and you may have some pleasant moments, but it's not the kind of movie you can be much excited about and tell your friends to watch.
