A lot of fun in Derry

If you're unfamiliar with Stephen King's novel 'It', you won't have a problem with this, whilst not overly faithful to the book, it does lift many aspects from it amongst new ideas. Most of which work, few don't.

It follows the story of young Georgie, his brother Bill makes him a paper boat to play with in a very stormy street. Unfortunately for him, the boat falls into a gutter where he encounters a clown. The rest of the story follows Georgie's brother and his friends, their own encounters with the clown and other horrifying events. Like I said, some of the new ideas work, some don't and aren't explored enough.

A solid cast, plenty of jump scares, plenty of laughs and the right amount of tension, if a slightly schmaltzy end, lead to a pretty solid horror film, possibly the best of the year.

Epic Movie (2007)

Epic failure

When I first saw the trailer a few months ago I thought it was quite funny and had huge potential. Sadly it doesn't, and is one of the worst movies I have seen in the 21st century.

At a ridiculously short running time, all the jokes are crammed in together at a pace where not only does the jokes fall flat on their arse, their timing is way off. Most of the "jokes" were mainly social commentary from the media over the last year or so.

I laughed twice during the movie - the snakes on a plane scene, which, in fact, was well observed and witty and when the White Bitch pointed to her white castle and it was a White Castle restaurant.

The ending is a bit of a let down to, and has little to do with the rest of the film.

Overall I can only hope the writers get their act together for Scary Movie 5, because by the looks of this, it will be just as bad.

Knock Off (1998)

So Very Bad

Tough guys Jean Claude Van Damme and um, Rob Schnieder. Fight tough guys in this rather dismal movie, the acting is bad and there are a few too many fights. There is very little I can compliment this film on as it is on of the big Turkeys of 1998. Jean Claude Van Damme should know better. Rob Schnieder can go to hell becuase I have no idea who he is.

This is a great movie and Piper Perabo is a great actress.



The story is as follows, a young woman called Violet (piper perabo) moves to New York City to become a singer songwriter. She moves to New York and meets a guy named Mr o Donnell (i forgot his first name at the time i wrote this) and they fall in love, Violet/Jersey gets a job as a Coyote in a bar called Coyote Ugly. And, in a fight in the bar she starts singing along to the dukebox and has some great nights at the bar, Mr o Donnell finds her in the bar when a man is groping her, he beats him up and Violet/Jersey gets fired. She then gets a new job and overcomes her stagefright.

This movie should hav one at least one oscar but sadly It didnt, the plot is great and the acting from everyone is spot-on. The girls are all good-looking which is an added bonus.

This is a very dull movie. Hardly anything about it was great.

Some of it was good but I did not enjoy it. The acting was typically british....boring and very dull.

Casting Rennee Zellwegger to play Bridget was a big mistake. It would have been better with someone like:

Bridget Fonda

Miranda Richardson

This is at best, an average movie with no plot or any big interest.

Great

Hannibal is a great movie. Its not as good as SOTL but then again, what is?

The acting from Jullianne Moore and Anthony Hopkins is superb. Ridley Scott is a genius.

The story goes along at a steady pace and it gets better and better as you go along. You need to watch it from the very beginnig to really understand it and, after watching it once, watch it again and again and again. It really is great.

Horror movies have come a long way in the past 50 or 60 years and this one lacks that special thing about horror, gore. The lack of gore was dissappointing.

Horror fans will love this and so will anyone else. Its a great movie with a great plot and with great direction.

This is such a mediocre film with crappy acting and crappy direction, everything about it is crap. There are some decent moments but it never gets above average.

At best this movie is awful. The blood and gore is stupid and no one who gets knocked over by a truck gets splattered into a million pieces. This is just another poorly put-together movie with no actual meaning. The only reason this gets a 4/10 instead of a lower score is the ending, which may spawn another sequel. Only see this movie if you are a true horror movie fan or are a maniac doll.

It Gets Better and Better

Eastenders is a much better soap then american soaps. Sure, eastenders in great but at least it doesnt have silly plots and dull actors like Days of our Lives or Dynasty.

Over the past 7 or 8 years I have watched Eastenders since i was 8 and I have been hooked ever since.

The best thing about the show is that its always left on a cliffhanger and all the stories are great, if not superb. Such as The Zoe-Kat thing and the Who Shot Phil? storyline.

All the characters are great and I think that if they were played by anyone else then it wouldnt be as popular or wouldnt have been running for so long.

Here is to another 15 or more years.

Dont Miss It.

Coronation Street is one of the best soaps in the world. Great storylines and Superb Acting have made it going strong for 40 years.

Every character is great and some of the best storylines are:

Sarah giving Birth

Sarah's Internet Friend

Matt-Maxine-Ashley love triangle

Dennis-Janice-Les love triangle.

All of it is superb. Every episode is great and the directon is great.

This is just a typical B-Grade horror sci-fi movie which bland special effects and a silly plot with no meaning. The Fly I was good but this one isnt. It just didnt do thing for me and I usually love horror movies. But, a horror is underrated then this will just be forgettable and silly.

The acting is ok and the plot is poor but the direction is really good.

If you are a mega massive fan or horror then this is for you, anyone else should stay well clear.

This movie is decent enough to work as a comedy but as a romance?? No!

Its not romantic, its slightly funny but the plot stinks up the place and the acting is just above average. The movie is nice but i didnt think it was great.

Rex the Runt is a great claymation comedy. In christmas 1998 when Rex the Runt came to British TV I was instantly attatched. But after about 13 episodes at christmas is vanished from tv, i was upset about this and hope that another series would come, my prayers wer answered in september 2001 when a second series came on tv. It was as good as the first series.

Each episode is different from the last and they are deeply funny.

The characters are:

Rex: The Dog Wendy: The sarcastic female dog, alos known as a bitch ;) Bob: The big fat jelly wobbly fat bast***....according to Wendy Vince: Their supposed pet who is always doing something, either bounching on screen, trying to kill himself or saying one-liners. e.g: Sausages or Fat Bast***.

As the 1st series went on each episode got better and better. As I write this the 2nd series is currently on.

You do not want to miss the chance for some quality viewing, you wont be dissapointed. But if you miss it, then its your fault and you may find that you wont see it on tv for a long time. (i waited nearly 3 years for the 2nd series)

X-Men should have one best picture at the oscars.

It had a great plot and storyline and it was full of action.

I cannot fault this movie one bit, it amazing.

If you like action or sci fi movies you will love this.

I think that it was a little underrated though.

It should be a classic.

The acting is great and Hugh Jackman is superb.

American Psycho is excellent but its a shame that the movie was mostly overlooked by the critics and didnt do that well in the box office, but if you are bothered to get up and go and see it then you get your moneys worth.

American Psycho is excellent, the plot is excellent, the acting is excellent and I enjoyed every single minute of it. Its funny, but also serious. I'm glad I taped it from TV because I will not tape over it. I would call this movie a horror comedy thriller. If you like these three genres of movies then you will like this movie, if not love it.

There are some great moments in this movie and it end on a surprizing note. There are some good references to movies and they are done great...in other words...do NOT miss the chance to view this piece of filmaking. Its up there with the best of 2000.

This movie is so dull you will only like it if you are:

1) Boring 2) Sexually Frustated 3) Tired 4) A Hopeless Romantic

The movie has a tiresome plot and the acting is rather bland as is the script. It will make good daytime viewing. If you are bored and need something to do or watch this is the movie for you, but if your not one of the 4 listed about you will hate it.

This deserved to win best picture at he oscars. It was an interesting movie and i couldnt fault it at all. Its a drugs movie, i usually hate gangster flicks but this one is great. If you like Pam Grier or Samuel L Jackson you will like this.

This movie is probably the best movie of the 90's. The acting and the plot are superb. The story is funny, witty, intelligent and most of all great. You must watch it all from start to finish in order to understand what is going on.

You do find yourself confused at sometimes throughout the movie but you get over it. It fully deserved its oscar nominations and winnings.

This is a really disappointing sequel to Aladdin. Currently they have been making unnescasary sequels to some disney movies. Like Lady and the Tramp 2 to The Lion King 2, which all failed to live up to the original.

This does no better

The plot is so mediocre and the voice acting is rubbish. The only good thing I found about it was that it was a bright enigmatic movie. If you are a kid under 10 you will love this. Anyone over is advised to stay well clear. But if you REALLY want to see it then see it.

No, i didnt not enjoy this movie because of the sex, i enjoyed this movie because of the good solid plot and the above average acting. Most erotic movies suck because of the amount of sex but this one was fine.

The thing that is most sad is that they use big breasted tramps as the leading lady and typically buff guys for the leading man.

This certainly is one of the best i've seen in a long time. 8/10

What Lies Beneath is a great movie. Its a horror movie which has less gore and more screams which works very effectively. The plot goes along at a steady un nerving pace which is great. The references to some movies are so obvious and the music at the end was used in Psycho. This is one of the best horror movies i have seen in quite a while. If you dont see it you must see it or rent the video or better still...buy it. It really is great and faultless. Harrison Ford and Michelle Phieffer are a great on screen couple and they couldnt have got a better couple to appear. 10/10

The Haunting is one of the best horror films I have seen in quite a while. Its not so much a scary movie but a suspenseful supernatural drama horror movie. The Haunting is sadly underrated and with a score of 4.7/10 when I did this review its quite sad. The movie doesn't pile on the gore like in most other horror movies and instead there are more screams and a sense of a ghostly presence.

The Haunting should have been nominated for at least one oscar but poor reviews from the critics and people made it poor for some people. It may have been a box office smash in both the uk and the usa but its not no Carrie or The Exorcist (which are both crap).

Unbreakable (2000)

Good, But...

Unbreakable is not a bad movie, its not a great movie either. Its somewhere in between average and excellent. I would say good. The plot is quite good but at trifle confusing. I kept asking 'whats happening' and 'why is that happening'. When I left the theatre I could hear some people say that the movie was rubbish, i didnt think so. They might have thought it was rubbish because they were confused, like me. But, at the movie got on further I began to understand the whole plot of the story. If you like thrillers with a twist then this is a definate must.

A Cool Dry place was released in the same year as that joke of a movie starring Vince Vaughn called 'Psycho'. That was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Shortly afterwards 'A Cool Dry Place' was released, it is better than 'Psycho' but it just isnt great. The acting is very week and the score is only hightened by the good plot. Sure, if you MUST watch it because it's the only film on tv then watch it, but dont hold your breath.

This is the most pathetic horror movie I have ever seen,

With week acting and a crappy plot which makes no sence. Its the worst movie that you will watch and you will find yourself wondering 'why did they make this movie?' Its just awful. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
