GARBAGE!
10 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
When you have two hotties Carla Guglemi and Alexandra Daddario as a mother/daughter team in a disaster movie, you know producers are trying to improve movie attendance.

Seen one disaster movie with Computer Generated Special Effects, you've seen them all. At least give us something plausible. Helicopter crash and nobody injured. Parachute out of a plane and land in a Major League Baseball field.

Alexandra Daddario running, or should I say bouncing up and down, brought snickers into the group I watched this movie with. Same thing with her water scenes. Good thing she had flotation devices, otherwise she'd have perished.

In actuality, producers could have made this a laugh out loud comedy. Such as having some guy with a MAGA cap watching liberal San Francisco citizens perish as the city goes underwater and scream, "California will Republican!"

Phenomenal Acting-GREAT MOVIE! MUST SEE!
27 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Don't know how anybody could rate this as a poor movie. From the very beginning to the end, this movie grips you. Not just the subject, the terrific acting by Jim Cabiezel, Crystal Aparicio, Javier Godino, and Lucas Avila. Bill Camp supporting role was performed to perfection; everytime he opened his mouth to say something, I found myself leaning forward anticipating his line. Bill Camp deserves an Oscar nomination. Lucas Avila's "Miguel" exchange with Caviezel's "Tim Ballard" character asking he find his sister was not only heartaching, but the ignition that really sent this movie forward. The young Miguel handing a "Timoteo" medallion to Tim Ballard asking if he could help him find his sister was heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. Not only did I sense Miguel's anguish and Tim Ballard's helplessness, but the audience wanted to find his sister.

Terrific directing and cinematography. It really is a great movie.

High reviews? HOW?!?!
5 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Do you want to waste time on a a movie that's a combination of 1970's era Bruce Lee and knights? Look no further that this waste of time.

First off, no reason is given for the animosity between villain and hero. Oh sure, hero wants lower taxes-villain wants higher taxes. That's why villain wants to kill heroe. Because of this, hero gets decapitated. Second hero vows revenge.

After a bunch of lengthy fight scenes we've all watched in previous movies, I couldn't wait for the end of this 115 minute bore-fest. Implausible fighting such as both villain and hero turn their backs on each other during a major fight. I guess director was seeking drama similar to a matador in a bullring.

The last fifteen mi utes sucked and at that moment I will never get the 1hour and 48 minutes I wasted my my life on watching this movie.

Brilliant! GREAT FUN!

Want a movie with the tension of "Alien"? The fun and humor of "Indiana Jones"? A terrific script along with terrific acting with terrific camera work with terrific music setting the mood make this movie a MUST SEE.

Jim Caviezal is the lead actor in this sci-flick; a flick I nearly blew off because I thought it'd be a "B movie". Instead, this movie is top shelf entertainment. Caviezel shines in.this movie and I'm amazed with his background and ability he isn't an A-listed actor.

As I said earlier.an entertaining movie that'll you'll want to watch from beginning to end. Initially, the last thirty-five minutes looked like it'd destroy the movie as the female lead insists in accompanying the men as they search for the monster. In todays world, maybe. Back in the "Year of Four Kings", it's be "Yeah right. Don't you have kitchen duties to perform?". However, the movie stayed entertaining to the end.

This a good date night movie!

Warning: Spoilers
David Bautista is hilarious playing a burnt out spy assigned to a covert surveillance on a wife and her daughter. He and his partner, Bobbi (played by Kristen Schaal) are discovered by Sophie (played Chloe Coleman) after she discovered a secret camera concealed in a ball. Not only does she discover the camera, she googles the model number and discovers it's a spy camera. She confronts Bautista and his partner Bobbi and a deal is struck between them . The dialogue during this time is hilarious as the young Sophie, despite her youth, can toe to toe in verbal skills against two CIA agents. Sophie makes a deal with JJ (Bautista), demanding he train her in spying skills. JJ, believing a young woman is no match for him, discovers Sophie can beat a polygraph machine. Next, JJ tells Sophie that since he's much bigger than her, she must use a distraction to get past him; she dumps the bowl holding his pet fish onto the floor and Sophie zips past JJ as he rescues his fish.

Other shout outs go to Ken Jeong as JJ's and Bobbi's supervisor. The two gay characters played by Devere Togers and Noah Dalton Danby were played perfectly. In fact, the supporting cast made this a very enjoyable movie to watch.

This movie is a COMEDY.
13 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is much more enjoyable if you understand at the the beginning this movie isn't like World War Z, but instead a send up of Zombie movies. Every actor in this movie was terrific-especially the females.

This movie has dry humor-everything said seriously in this movie is a send up of previous monster movies.

A very beautiful Michelle Morgan gives an excellent performance of a girl putting up with her boyfriend, who wants to film the zombie apocalypse.

I'm not a fan of pointless nudity in any film, but Amy Lalonde's complaint of women in monster movies running until their "t*ts fall out" was spot on. Ironically (and intentionally), Amy's running from a zombie when, you guessed it, her "t*ts fall out". This was shot in very dark lighting while the director of the movie is reminding her zombies move slow.

Overall, this movie is worth watching if the viewer understands it was filmed as a comedy. However, this film was done so well, the viewer will still enjoy the tension of the movie.

EXCELLENT MOVIE! I don't get the low rating
20 October 2022
This is an excellent movie. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger acting like you've never saw him act before. Yes, this is a "zombie movie", but I'll guarantee you've watched nothing like this before. Abigail Breslin is excellent as the bitten daughter. Joely Richardson is excellent as Arnold's second wife and step-mother go to Abigail's character.

The movie's background music sets the hopeless tone of the movie. The rest of the characters in the movie, in particular, the two actors playing police officers display increasing weariness as the movie moves on. You'll feel for all the characters and understand their sense of hopelessness and dread. Ten starts isn't enough.

Most Childish Movie

Implausible. Stupid. Wrong format.

Movie should have been a satire. Instead, some "genius thought it be better as a serious movie. That being said, Hemsworth was good, but no where near to carry this poor concept of a movie. A previous reviewer said this movie was exciting...... for a child and I have to agree. Towards the end of the movie, I either wanted the main character dead or the people chasing him. I didn't care. I just wanted the movie to end.

TERRIFIC MOVIE!
2 May 2022
If you like quirky movies, you'll love this.

If you love movies with twists and turns, you'll love this one. Although this movie has violence, this is a fun movie to watch.

Matthew McConaughey gives a terrific performance as does Gina Gershon, Thomas Hadon-Church, Emile Hirsh. And Juno Temple.

You won't be disappointed.

This is a GOOD movie.
28 April 2022
First, this is NOT a movie you can be distracted from while you watch. Normally, serial killer movies have the same premise-slasher, gore, etcetera. Not this one. I won't give up any spoilers, but you'll have to trust me this is a movie that will make you think.

Momma Weed is a FUN and INTELLIGENT movie
12 February 2022
The protagonist plays an Arabic police translator in a French police unit specializing in conducting long term narcotics investigations. Her boyfriend is in charge of the unit.

This isn't a slapstick type of comedy with bumbling police officers. Instead, officers appear competent while gathering intelligence from the protagonist's Arabic translations. This is more drama than a comedy.

The characters in the movie are great. The writing was terrific and didn't insult your intelligence. If this movie was marketed right, I think it could have been a blockbuster.

GREAT SCI-Fi GEM!
5 March 2021
If you're looking for mindless and tasteless "Marvel" style CGI, don't bother. If you want to have a WTF moment, this movie is for you. Great acting! Terrific dialogue! I found myself rooting for these guys! It was a fun movie without outlandish special effects. Movie slowly builds the on e the WTF moment hits, you'll...........(I won't spoil it! Watch the movie!)

Killbird (2019)

Forget the 4.4 rating. This is a suspenseful movie
2 September 2020
This is a great movie with good acting that grabs you from the beginning. This movie was so good, I decided to write my first review on it.

If you're looking for James Bond special effects, or the mindless "Avengers" style CGI action, this movie isn't for you. This movie has terrific dialogue. Killbird sucks you in and keeps you wondering.

I thought the acting was terrific. Using today's conspiracy theories in the dialogue surprised me and made the movie much more enjoyable.

By the way, thank you for not having pointless nudity In this gem. The female actress, Elysian Rotaru, has a terrific body and this movie didn't need pointless nudity to keep the audience's attention. I never saw her in a movie before this, but she is good. So is Stephen Lobo.
