Aattam (2023)
Best movie in recent times
This movie should get 11/10 for its dialogues. It is sheer perfection. The movie stands out as one of the best Indian movie of last 5 years. It's a breath of fresh air to the actual cinema lovers when there is someone out there respecting the art of filmmaking. The movie has shown ways in which a movie can be made without getting bored for even a second.
You all don't waste time reading my review, just go and watch it already. Pure cinema.
Don't mind the next few words. This is just to fill up the space.
After a theater group's party, their sole actress is subjected to a crime from one of the men. Stories unravel, suspicions surface and clamor ensues as a meeting is called to reach a consensus.
Jigarthanda DoubleX (2023)
Best mass blockbuster in recent times
Having seen most of mass blockbuster movies released in last few years, i can say this one stands out as the best among all. Unique storyline mixed with class and mass scenes makes this one of memorable movie. Hats off to director and the crews for making this movie. This movie without a doubt should get nominated for oscars. If it doesn't get nominated, i will consider oscars biased. The movie contains both mass elements and engaging scenes, and few plot twists which works really well and is perfectly timed. This is few movie where there is no proper protagonists, mainly antagonists vs antagonists, and it make it entertaining to watch.
Oppenheimer (2023)
Most intense movie in last 10 years
This movie is the most intense movie i have seen in a theatre. The whole 3 hours felt so intense. Even the interrogation scenes were near perfect dialogues. I didn't felt a single scene was forced or amateurish. Coming to acting, Cilian Murphy delivers his career best performance, and Matt Damon was extraordinary and Robert Downey might have given his best acting till date. Even without a single fight scenes, Nolan has made this more interesting than most of superhero movies. I think the dialogues deserve extra credit. Reminds me of watching 'The godfather' movie which had perfect dialogues. Definitely this one tops Dunkirk and Tenet, but I can't really compare this with Interstellar, prestige and inception, because of difference in genre.
The best movie in last few years!
Cinematography-10/10
Background score-10/10
Acting-9.8/10
Length-8/10.
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)
Great movie
This movie provides a bunch of adrenaline rush action scenes and is good in story as well. All the actors did a good job.
Maybe this might be the best MI movie yet. The biggest strength of Ethan hunt was using the impersonation thing and the new villain made sure that he can't do it anymore until it is present. This is a new challenge for ethan as it was an integral part in most of his previous movies and helped him get over the line.
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is a 2023 American spy action film directed by Christopher McQuarrie from a screenplay he co-wrote with Erik Jendresen. It is the sequel to Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018) and the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible film series. Dead Reckoning Part One sees Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt, whose IMF team are confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful foe known as "the Entity". The ensemble cast also features Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga and Henry Czerny.
RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) (2022)
This is beyond cruel
I would have given this movie a 3 star ratings but since most reviews here are fake, i will give 1. If there was an option for zero, i would have given that.
Coming to the movie, the protagonist arrests a protester by fighting 1000 people. This is done to show power of protagonist. Other protagonist can control animals.
After 2 weeks and barely getting food, how can one suddenly do exercise and be so strong?
If one does exercise without eating food, he wil develop muscle wasting and ketone bodies will be formed. I don't know how a person maintains same muscle after not eating for 2 weeks. If they have any tricks, i want to know it.
The most depressing part is villains are portrayed as complete villains. There is no perspective from their side. This is like a 19th century movie where whatever protagonist does is right, and villains are always wrong.
If 2 people can destroy a entire British battalion and can defeat 1000 protesters, then why didn't we get independence in 1912. Maybe the movie has a 2nd part where they give independence to us.
Also this movie is categorised under historical drama, then why does protagonists have strength higher than most superheroes.
I don't know why they have to ruin our image by sending bad movies worldwide, please if you have any vested interest, do in local market, don't insult us by sending such illogical movies.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: The Eye (2022)
Story is slow but
After the storm in last episode, this episode is relatively very calm. But lot of happenings.
Firstly stranger leaves the harfoots, who was chased by annatar and 2 others. The storyline of dwarf kingdom was excellent. Feeling sad that a prosperous dwarves kingdom will become ruins once balrog is out. I was surprised that dwarves kingdom was so much prosperous before the events of lord of the rings. The southlands is converted to mordor and became home of orcs. Now we can see orcs gaining strength, which were weaker in earlier episodes. The massive orcs we saw in lord of the rings are about to come. I like adar as a whole, he has typical villain attitude, he helped to fill the gap till sauron makes entry officially. But I want adar to continue.
Story is going at a steady pace. Sad that only one episode is remaining.
Finally halbrand is more of looking like sauron.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Udûn (2022)
Epic story
Adar has been the standout performer of all the characters, which was let down by galadriel. Also, arondirs acting is also worthy noting. This episode provides immense action scenes, and often take you to the battlefield of Lord of the rings, but this episod has successfully passed in creating a legacy of its own. The Tolkien fans may be disappointed and say they spoiled Tolkien's works, but it is better to have a new perspective and backstory of middle Earth. The final twist was magnificent, as we now know how southlands eternally became mordor and sunlight never touches there.
Also the biggest waiting is continued for next week as well, because the main villain entry has not yet happened. Also there are many susceptible culprits who might turn out as sauron including the stranger, halbrand, Theo, pharazon, annatar etc.
Can't wait for next episode.
Severance: The We We Are (2022)
"See you later, Ms Cobel"
This was the perfect dialogue which revealed almost everything.
I am eager to know how Ms casey landed up there, how they faked her death, who is Eagan etc.
Nothing at present is comparable to this masterpiece show
This show is a masterpiece.
Severance: Defiant Jazz (2022)
Ms casey
Ms casey reveal at the end of episode was perfect cliffhanger.
The storyline, cinematography, acting, intensity evertything is so good in this series.
Shershaah (2021)
6 ratings only for the legacy of captain Vikram batra
I had huge expectations when I saw a movie having 8+ ratingscin IMDb. Unfortunately, it is now subjected to bias from hypernationalism and politics. This movie doesn't offer anything to remember. Some scenes looks like director was sleeping while shooting the scene. Mocking tone during war, and captain goes to death to rescue his dying mate. Seriously? What a sick joke writing this is.
Locke & Key: Wedding Crashers (2022)
Going downhill
Duncan and bode's mother don't know how to act. Every emotion they have the same face.
I don't understand why create artificial scenes so that Kinsey ends up saving Tyler at exact time. Probably if they had spend some time in storywriting and reviewing, would have done it better.
Only reason for 6 stars is uniqueness of the show.
Better Call Saul: Chicanery (2017)
Parallel to perfection
Charles McGill steals the episode. The way he conveys his emotions and master acting was perfection. I felt like I was in the court room. Such an intense episode.
Malayankunju (2022)
More realistic movie
The movie explores the caste based segregations which is still rampant in the society and gives realistic visual representation. Also, it shows the terror of how landslide works in the most realistic way.
First half deserved a 9.8 and 2nd half falls short of expectations a little( I give a 8.2).
Sound system is perfectly used in this movie. Don't watch any pirated version of this movie. Either watch in theatres or dont watch at all.
The Black Phone (2021)
Movie lives up to hype
Ethan Hawke is terrorizing the theatre with his acting and the whole 2 hours, I sat with absolute terror. The story is well written and may be the director is planning for a 2nd part because there is a lot of unanswered questions. Grabber sitting with naked upper body, mask and belt was one of the most scariest thing I have ever seen..
