Blue Beetle (2023)

Just Plain Painful. I Was Bored.

I've been collecting comics for over 45 years. - And I am simply amazed at how Movie Production Companies continue to produce such garbage. Yes. GARBAGE. Once again, Hollywood takes an awesome character with an AMAZING background - and turns it into a steaming pile of ****. How is this possible? It's not hard people. READ THE COMIC. COPY IT. MAKE A MOVIE WITH THE EXACT SAME TEXT. MAKE BILLIONS. ANY QUESTIONS???????

Was this movie supposed to be a COMEDY? I'm really not sure, because they tried to make literally everything in the movie a joke. It got old very quickly and none of the jokes were funny,

Casting: Susan Sarandon? George Lopez? Really? I mean, I'm just going to say that someone with a dart and a phone book could have picked better people for the cast. Brutal. Absolutely brutal. Susan was painful to watch as the "bad guy".

Plot: So this kid gets a "Scarab" embedded in his body and runs around like a complete lunatic for 1.5 hours. That's basically the synopsis of this movie. After it was over, I still couldn't figure it out. They were supposed to form some sort of "symbiotic relationship" - yet we NEVER were told ANYTHING about the suit, it's powers and then the main character "Jaime" didn't even TRY to do anything. Wouldn't a teenager with this NEW POWER go out and maybe try to do some fun stuff and figure out how the suit works????? Again, so painful. Just BRUTAL. And then the scenes with the family, where "NANA" is like this crazy murderer, who was just sipping her tea 10 minutes ago? Please. Just stop. So dumb.

Hispanic: CLEARLY this was aimed at the Latino Audience. - but it got annoying. Like... pick a language and stick with it. Either do the whole thing in English or Spanish - but hopping back and forth was SO ANNOYING. OMG. STOP.

I gave 2 stars for some BRIEF CGI sequences with the suit that were remotely interesting. Overall though.......... BRUTAL.

Watch it for free when it comes out on a streaming platform, but do not pay money for this GARBAGE.

Meg 2: The Trench (2023)

I could write a 20,000 word dissertation on why this was a bad movie, but I just have the energy.

This movie was horrible for 1,000 different reasons.

The actors sucked. - Like, I started laughing at some of the dialogue about 5 minutes into the movie.

The writing sucked. - same as above.

Graphics sucked. - I mean, you have 3 megs swimming in a perfect line or "V" formation?

Unrealistic Sharks - Give us all a break. By the way the swim and act, they'd be the smartest creatures on the planet. - Just DUMB.

I could keep going but I just don't care.

HORRIBLE MOVIE.

JUST DUMB.

Avoid at all costs.

Lioness (2023– )

Some Good.... Some Bad

I will start out positive. I like Taylor Sheridan work. Virtually all of it is great.

However, this is not one of those works. This one was just "bleh".

Let's start with some obvious issues:

1) Nicole Kidman: What in the HELL happened to her face? I mean, oh my GOD. It looks like she got butchered by a plastic surgeon. Wow. Unbelievable. It looks like her face is literally melting. I can't imagine what she looks like without makeup. BAD BAD BAD cast choice. Gross. I couldn't help staring at her whenever there was a scene with her. Disgusting.

2) Ending: Was it me or did this show just "abruptly end"? I mean, we worked for 7 Episodes to get into the right place/location, and then WHAM....... we have 18 minutes left in the LAST EPISODE, and it just ends? Horrible. They must have run out of money or something.

3) Realism: 99% of what these people do in "deep cover operations" in this series is simply ridiculous. It's beyond ridiculous. It's literally the epitome of stupidity. Come on people. Common sense 7th graders could have come up with better decisions in some of these situations. Dumb.

Just not as good as it could have been.

Outlast (2023– )

Cheaters Win is the Motto?

This show started off with a good premise - pretty standard "Reality Survival" show. - everyone has probably seen 100 just like it.

Here's my problem with this show: People CHEATED. Jill, Amber and Justin were despicable. I can't believe the producers of this show allowed them to purposefully raid/destroy other participants' camp and gear. It was disgusting.

Also, these people - Jill and Amber specifically - are mentally ill. Why is a recovering HEROIN addict on the show? She had NO skills whatsoever. Also - Jill is PSYCHOTIC. One minute they are raiding another team's camp - and then when it happens to them, they are writing letters and screaming "Oh you want to play the game that way?" - the whole thing was just disgusting.

If I were ever to meet Jill - I would say it to her face: "You are mentally unstable. Seriously. You need help."

Javier, Brian, Dawn and Joel should be given another show where SKILL and STRATEGY are the main things that lead to a victory. As it stands, this entire season was disgraceful. SO disappointed.

Bad acting. Dumb, reused story. How many times do we see the Le Femme Nikita movie with the female unstoppable heroine?

Boring as hell. Avoid at all costs.

Extraction (2020)

All you people rating this 7-10 stars are out of your minds.

This movie was "OK". It wasn't great like a "Jason Bourne" or "Mission Impossible" movie in any possible measure. On top of that, the story was completely boring. There weren't any backgrounds of ANY of the characters at all.

Could have been SO much better.

Underwater (2020)

Not too bad! Pleasantly surprised.

Ok - so not a huge Kristen fan - but gave this one a shot. This movie isn't "Amazing" - but it's not bad. I enjoyed the creature special effects - and general plot line. Acting was pretty good as well.

Overall - worth a watch. - It's a lot like the "Abyss" movie - kind along the same kind of lines.

Cats (2019)

Hollywood... please STOP.

I'm not sure what rocket scientist said, "Hey, let's make a movie based on the Musical Cats!" - but that person should be banned from any form of production for the rest of their lives.

In a word......... TERRIBLE.

Don't waste your time.

Funny how they can't use the word "lesbian" in the description of the movie and replace it with "paramour" - odd.

Anyway, this movie took 1.25 hours of my life that I will never get back. Horrible acting. Dumb plot.

Finding Meaning in Life

Ok so I kind of went into this movie hoping to see something "Cool in Space" - because I like Science Fiction. It isn't that. So if you are hoping for that,... you might be disappointed.

It is entertaining enough - which is why I gave it 6 out of 10. Brad Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones played their roles very well. Jones - the "Dad who left me". Pitt - the "Boy looking for meaning in his life".

It's basically one of those movies that give you the "What you need might have been in front of you your whole life" kind of feelings. It's "OK"... just not great.
