Monsieur Spade (2024– )

So good until the ending

Spoiler alert...there were no black female, high ranking military/government officials in America in 1963. Other than the gross miscasting for this character, this was a very atmospheric and extremely well acted series. Political correctness is completely out of control. Alfre Woodard is a talented actress whom I've enjoyed in many roles and this is not a criticism of her acting, just the role created for her. The character she plays is simply not believable. Throwing in a character like this simply takes away from the great work involved by all the actors, director, etc. I'm sure these remarks will step on a few toes but that's too bad.

Reacher (2022– )

A Joke

This is a very poor follow up to season 1. Reacher looks like the comedy relief buffoon instead of the leader of his little group. Superwomen beating the hell out of muscular males while dressed in evening gowns and high heels? The book series took about 20 volumes to start going bad whereas this series was good the first season but went straight into the toilet in the second. Either Lee Child has suffered total loss of imagination and talent or someone else is using his name to try to get people to watch this crap. Too bad, it was a good idea to begin with but fails miserably. Don't waste your time on this,you will be very disappointed.

Sorry, butt this is a very bad show. I'm amazed Timothy Olyphant agreed to star in this. The original is highly entertaining with many, many memorable characters. This one has no one I would want to see again. The villain is completely over the top, and the actor is third rate at best. The girl playing the daughter just is not talented and the character added virtually nothing to the story. There is way too much filler and Raylon's relationship with the attorney is anotherneedless addition to the story. To say that I am disappointed in this is a gross understatement. If there is a third installment, I certainly hope they get better writers and a much, much better cast. I'm really amazed by how many bad actors were cast in this debacle. It's a pretty sorry follow up to a great series. Don't waste your time on this one.

Casting is outstanding but...

Physical resemblances to the Jay and Mary characters from the previous movies and series is remarkable and it has the same slow, depressing atmosphere as well. You can count the smiles on two fingers. Not one of the characters has any joy on their lives. Ultimately a very depressing addition to the Jay Swan saga. I am a huge Aaron Pederson fan but the series is just slow moving and leaves me feeling a bit empty. Virtually everyone is depressed and has a gloomy outlook on life. Granted, these are poor people with little or no future but the bleakness just about outweighs the story. I was hoping young Jay would have been a bit more upbeat. Even after his first night with Mary he didn't crack a smile.

Don't Bother

So many unanswered questions at the end. Maybe I'm dense but what the heck is this show about? The last episode was utterly ridiculous. No explanations are offered and half the characters either disappear and we are left hanging. Is there a third season that will explain everything?

The first 4-5 episodes were interesting but it went downhill fast. Horrible music, godawful singing and an ending so far beyond stupid as not to be believed. Don't waste your time on this.
