Threat Matrix (2003)
This show is great!
This show is great! I'm so happy to see Jamie (James) Denton on such a great show. The pilot was hilarious, and if it's a glimpse into the future, I'm ready and willing to be a fan. Already the cast is working together - with a comraderie that it takes seasons to perfect, and they all have such charisma as to make the show completely enjoyable. A 10 in my opinion!
At Sachem Farm (1998)
People's Choice
I just rented this movie - and let me tell you it was amazing! Originally I got it because it had Minnie Driver ... but in the end I loved it for all of the 'odd' characters. The movie isn't anything fabulous. It isn't spectacular. It's down to earth and homey. I honestly don't know how better to explain it. It's one of those movies that warms your heart (some would call it a 'chick flick') and seems to give a purpose to the ending plight known as life. But it doesn't give direct answers ... but merely makes you take a second look at everything around you and give you something to think on. The most memorable line of the film to me is "It's just a place to sit..." because things in life are only as big and grand as we make them out to be. The movie won't win any Oscars .... but it wins my vote for People's Choice.
The Pretender: Island of the Haunted (2001)
If they make it, viewers will watch
Because of the long time span between Pretender 2001 and IOH I was not as excited for the movie as I may have been - but it was amazing. I especially appreciated how they went back to the simple sarcasm and humor from the series - it made the cast that much more familiar. The storyline wasn't overly confusing, even for new audiences - the writers did a very good job of explaining the storyline and plot without making long time viewers tired and willing to change the channel. Yes some questions were answered, and still more left unresolved - but that's the way the Pretender world works. Viewers were warned by the writers that there would be many new questions after this installment. I very much look forward to future movies - please let TNT and AOL know that "if they make it, we will watch"!
The Pretender 2001 (2001)
A Family Event
I really enjoyed this film. Continuing the Pretender ideals it gave the public more information on Jared and Miss Parker. Although a few characters needed haircuts (in my opinion) it did not detract from the feel of the event. The writers obviously put much work into the script and many hours on the set in Canada. I must tell you that I revere these actors for working so hard for their fans, it shows a lot for them in the long run. They're not selfish individuals. I recommend this movie because it has family values - along with a little violence - but what family has NO violence? Hello! That's what I thought. It also has characters that the audience comes to know and relate to, people they feel a connection with. Miss Parker is my favorite character. She shows that women really can kick butt even in the middle of a man's world.
