Wow, what a snoozefest.
28 July 2023
Hadn't written any review for years, this movie irked me into writing one.

Imagine a movie where not one character is likeable. The storytelling is full of annoying clichés, trying to create the vibe of an Edgar Wright&Simon Pegg collaboration but comes nowhere close.

The story itself is quite interesting, it takes something to turn this story into a boring movie.

It was a very poor movie that I do not recommend watching. Every participant comes off looking bad. (the director, the writer, the actors et cetera) Trying to fill this review with enough characters while trying not to be too harsh.

Wow, beautiful!
21 February 2020
It's been some time since I wanted to write a review. This little episode did it for me. What a sweet little piece of work! The leading actress is so vulnerable and sweet, you can't imagine the role with anyone else (Try imagining Jennifer Lawrence with it, it messes up the whole thing because it feels she'd be too rigid and strong for it to work.) There are certain works I see that evokes the word "lifelike" in me. This is one of those. I don't want to overpraise it, just the right amount. It is lifelike and I liked it.

I'll be suggesting it to my friends.

Chomsky answering questions for 80 minutes? I'm in.
3 November 2018
I mean not to sound sycophantic but any document that has noam chomsky talking for 80 minutes is a valuable one. Gondry is an awkward guy which is fun to listen. They get along well. Noam is, as always, insightful and inspiring.

Utter crap
21 January 2013
I know it's not cool to get offended from a joke or a movie. "It's a movie man lighten up.." Well yeah! it IS a movie and it is extremely powerful! And in this one, Istanbul is portrayed ridiculously. And I can't accept that. It's one of the best cities in the world. But this portrayal is unforgivable. I mean the women having those ninja costumes, those burkas.. It's really not acceptable. Because when you think about it, to have those shots, they actually arranged extras to wear that costume and shoot that. It's all planned and thought out. That's why it's unacceptable. It's not real, it's purposely made that way.

Only good thing about the movie is the villain. I've always liked that guy, ever since I saw him in the Val Kilmer movie, The Saint. Then Snatch, Mission Impossible ll, Eyes Wide Shut (not chronologically). He's a great actor with a genuine charisma. Other than that, this movie seriously blows. Meaningless action scenes with mediocre acting. Of course I love Liam Neeson, but in this, he really was not special.

I'd suggest watching the first one for a second or a third time instead of watching this. Thank you for reading mates.

unwatchable due to absence of storytelling
6 October 2012
I am a big documentary lover and I watch them a great deal. I prefer a story from real life to a fiction movie. However despite its very intriguing content, this documentary is extremely unwatchable. Why? Because it is so amateurishly made. It is filled with too many unnecessary scenes (hence the 2h30min run time). It's a shame how bad it is. I was saddened by the events and was very eager to understand "why" but I turned this off after 25 minutes. It is so NOT fluent. It's dragging. I kinda got angry actually on how bad it is.

If you want to watch a well-made documentary, I'd suggest watching "Capturing the Friendmans".

Nothing nothing nothing like the book
22 February 2012
Like a lot of children, I really didn't like reading. The Tintin books were actually the only books that I've read during my childhood. Its suspense and mystery kept me reading like crazy. I read them 10 times each. REAL TALK. (kevin hart fan right here) Long story short, the movie was nothing like the books. It was a collection of meaningless action sequences. There is no depth, suspense or atmosphere. Also the animation didn't do anything for me.

However, despite its flaws, its still a Tintin movie which has Daniel Craig. Therefore a 4 seemed fair. Having said that, this isn't recommended. Do read the book though.

Seal: Live in Paris (2005 Video)

A Real Concert
25 July 2006
This DVD is without a doubt one of the best in my collection. Seal:Live in Paris is a must-have for any Seal fan. The orchestra is the same with "One Night to Remember with Seal" and they're true musicians. No need to say anything about Seal's voice. I love this concert more than "One Night to Remember with Seal" because in this one, they kinda stick to the original versions of the songs. Of course there are some additional parts to the songs but they fit quite well. We see the Paris streets while the orchestra getting ready to play the next song and Seal himself also talks about the song that they're gonna play next. I really like the start of the DVD.Seal gets picked up by airport and we hear the acoustic version "Get it Together" while Seal cruises in Paris streets and talks about the nights concert. DVD's box is fine. It's white and the front of the DVD is covered with Seal singing. All the popular songs of Seal are played in the concert.(Crazy, Killer, Deep Water, Fly like an Eagle, Love's Divine, Prayer for the Dying, Kiss from a Rose, Get it Together, Whirlpool)But like in "One Night to Remember with Seal", "TOUCH" (my favorite Seal song along with Love's Divine) hasn't been played. Apart of all that this DVD's fantastic like I said at the beginning. Buy this DVD,there's no way you'd be disappointed if you like a real POP concert. :)

Nice One
21 July 2006
First off,I like Seal very much.I adore his voice and I like his emotional side. I buy any Seal's DVD I see...There are not many so to speak..and about this one.. If you are a fan of Seal, you would enjoy it of course.I enjoyed myself too..The orchestra is brilliant and also I gotta say that Seal was feeling it that night.Love's Divine's an acoustic version..Seal plays and sings. But I prefer the version in Seal:Live in Paris. As to DVD's quality and stuff,it's excellent. There's a picture of Seal singing as the cover. There's a booklet and there's also a CD of the songs from the concert.

It's a nice DVD but it's not a must-have.I love Seal so I have this one.Recommended for anyone who likes a great voice..
