Fighting with My Family (2019)
refreshing, supports the ideas hard work ethic and perseverance which are lacking in movies today
Stephen Merchant did a great job telling the story of Saraya Knight and her journey to becoming a pro wrestler. Virtually every shot of Florence Pugh (who plays Saraya) is absolutely incredible, and she does a stellar job portraying the character and the struggles she went through. This also follows her brother that she was very close too, who, along with the rest of the supporting cast did a wonderful job.
The only cons were, they presented it as a true story, which clearly aspects were improvised on, as all movies are and are certainly not historically accurate. The other is some really bad music choices. Overall, I loved it!
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Do not watch without knowing the events it based on!
Having no clue what this movie was based on or about when I watched it, and because I have already seen it, it's sad that I will never get to enjoy it. While watching I thought it was so slow and boring and turned it off a few times. The plots seem to just exist but never seem to tie together. The uber violence is too much and didn't make any sense. So as movie in itself, it wasn't great.
Now if you know the premise and the event surrounding it before watching it would be a completely different movie. Slow building suspense that comes to a head when you see a couple sick people get what they should have gotten that night. You have to know that it is a remaking of history otherwise it just makes no sense why they are following Sharon around, and I would have thought, due this fact they would have somehow clued you in to what actually happened. Much like "Inglorious Bastards" there is something gratifying about watching people get what they deserved, even if its fake.
Taskmaster: God's Haemorrhoid (2020)
They got rid of the live studio audience and it really kills the energy level.
The show is still great but is now comparable to other channel four shows. If you were a fan before this season be prepared to make the adjustment of the low energy levels because of no live studio audience. It makes the jokes a lot less funny, half the fun was knowing they had a room full of people watching them like a hawk and ridiculing their every move.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
The most fun marvel movie and best for that reason
The plot moves smoothly and the jokes don't stop, but there's still tons of action and excitement. Taika(director) rides the line between comedy and action adventure perfectly without any sort of cheesiness that most other films that try to do this have. No one has done it better before or since.
Dune (1984)
So awful its great
This is like tremmors meets Star wars. So incredibly cheesy it makes it great, if you like that sort of thing. I really like the story it's pretty in-depth but not hard to follow if you just pay attention, which can be hard to do between all the cracks you're sure to make. You just have to keep a light heart and an open mind to enjoy this movie.
Snatch (2000)
Horrible plot that uses extreme violence to make it interesting
The way the story unfolds is completely unbelievable, and not in a good way. Extreme violence is used to compensate for the fact that the plot is completely unrealistic. Either Mr. Richie has no understanding of reality or just didn't care because he knew that the violence would make up for his terrible writing. I would have given it one star but the casting is ok so some of the characters are decent. Its entertaining the first watch, the second watch its just plain stupid.
