Six Feet Under (2001)
Timeless
I watched this series weekly when it first came out and fell in love with the Fishers. I watch it faithfully once a year. The finale is the best finale of any show ever.
I hear there might be a reboot. Please don't ruin my all time favorite show with a whack reboot. It's perfect as it is.
It's got everything. Comedy, drama, sorrow, intrigue, sex, drugs, musical numbers and plenty of dead bodies. Probably one of my favorite aspects of this show is how every episode begins with a death. Some are weird, some are quite, some are gruesome.
And the commercials in the show for embalming fluid etc are hilarious.
Inside (2023)
Poor execution of a good plot
First of all, I can't name the number of far fetched inconsistencies throughout this movie. Some things just didn't make sense. Alot of questions left unanswered that I thought were kinda pivotal to the plot.
Second, this could've been a good movie. It sounded interesting, which is why I wanted to watch it. But uh,.....
Boring, repetitive. I only watched the whole movie to see what happens in the end and as I predicted, it's one of those ambiguous endings where it's left up to the viewers interpretation, which imo, goes against the entire principle of watching a movie. If I want a long endless drawn out story with no point, I have my life.
Big Sky (2020)
What are you people talking about?!?!
I want to preface this by saying I've only watched the pilot episode. Halfway through I came here to read the reviews. I'm so puzzled as to why alot of people were "shocked" by the "plot twist" at the end of the episode. I saw it coming a mile away. I'm going to continue watching but I honestly don't have high hopes. The writing is very obvious and I feel like maybe David E Kelly is trying too hard to be or do something that he's not. Maybe this is just a show for a younger generation??? Haven't really made up my mind yet.
Gracepoint (2014)
Predictable
I never watched Broadchurch so I don't know if it has the same predictability as Gracepoint but as soon as Mark was keeping mum about his whereabouts on the night of, I KNEW it was because of an affair, just like I just KNEW Tom had "accidentally" killed Danny.
Joe being a pedo was a twist I didn't see coming tho. Other than that I really enjoyed this series overall.
Tell Me Your Secrets (2021)
Loved this series!!
There's a shortage of good TV series out there but this one is, IMO, one of the best that I've seen in a while. It kept me in suspense and waiting to see what was going to happen next.
Great performances by Linklater and Raby (who have a child together, I never knew that) Linklater especially I would like to see in more bad guy roles. I'm a big fan of Raby and enjoy her work in the AHS franchise.
Great ending that definitely leaves it open for a second season. I don't know what they are waiting for. GET TO WRITING!!!!
The Golden Girls: From Here to the Pharmacy (1991)
Correction: It's episode 7;12
Hulu put the missing episode of Dorothy's son marrying an older black woman back in rotation. It's episode 3;23.
The Golden Girls: Where's Charlie? (1991)
Blanche? Coaching baseball?
Since when does Blanche coach baseball? And why? What makes her qualified? I absolutely love Golden Girls but this storyline, imo, was just ridiculous and asinine and doesn't even make sense.
The Sinner (2017)
I loved all 3 but the thing about Jamie....
So I see alot of people didn't care for the 3rd season. True, it wasn't as great as Cora, but I didn't think Julian was either.
The thing for me about Jaime was that throughout the whole season we see this man tortured by the inescapable finality of death and his quest to overcome his fear of it by facing death head on, and bringing himself to the cusp, but then when he finally does face death, it's the look of utter fear for me that was so poignant. I thought it was brilliant and thought provoking.
I can't wait for season 4.
