Batman: A Piece of the Action (1967)
The Best episode of Batman
In this episode. The Green Hornet comes to town and tries to unfold a phony stamp making operation. Well as you know Batman & Robin is on the same case thinking that the Green Hornet & Kato is in on it. Little that they know that Green Hornet is a crime fighter too. In the end they wind up battling the bad guys and eventually each other. Both gets the best of each other, and it winds up to be the best action sequence ever in television history. I would love to see Batman on DVD so we can see history in the making. I'm sure everyone will enjoy if they can get a copy of this on DVD. You will love it as well as i do. The Green Hornet is already on DVD. Hopefully Batman will be too. The 1966 movie is on disc. Van Williams as the Green Hornet does a good job in this episode, as well as Bruce Lee as Kato. Will we ever see a display of action in day and age. I don't think so. Roger C. Carmel is good also as Col. Gumm. You will see Alex Rocco very good character actor as one of the henchmen. If it is available on disc then go out and get it your kids might just like it. It's better than what we have today on TV.
Batman: Batman's Satisfaction (1967)
The Best Batman ever
I was probably 7 years old when I saw this episode. I was a fan of both shows and now I wish they would put it on DVD so we all can share in the magic of TV and, to watch this 2 episodes of Batman vs. The Green Hornet. The fight scene was the best in television. I would to have loved to see a winner, but Hollywood copped out and made it a Mexican Standoff. I hope TV Land start showing Batman again so that kids of this generation can enjoy this type of entertainment. If you find this particular episode? Then get it! It would be worth it. Green Hornet was probably a little more violent than Batman, but it was effective. It must have not found it's audience. Batman last 3 years so, maybe the Green Hornet could have made it that long if it only been on at the right time. If I remember correctly the Green Hornet followed Batman. My problem was that I had to go to bed at 9 p.m. Get ready for school. I think we all should get the producers of the show to release the show for DVD format for generations to come. Maybe we can get that magic back!
Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005)
Great movie!
I had reservations when I got the bootleg copy of this movie and, I was deeply surprised when I saw this movie. Shemar Moore is improving his creditability as an serious actor. Kimberly Elise! What can I say about her? Her performance is what makes the movie. Tyler Perry ought to be commended for this production, and I hope Hollywood recognize his talents and make more movies with him to come. Kimberly Elise will and probably be nominated for an Oscar for this role. She will be the next African-American to win for Best Actress without being light-skinned(ala.. Halle Berry). All in all this is a feel good movie that will bring people of color together and understand that God is with all of us through the good and as well as the bad.
Jeongmujibo (1979)
Ron Van Clief is a bad guy? What?
I got this movie for two dollars at Media Play and thought I was getting a steal. Instead! It was mediocore. The plot is bascially about a Kung- Fu Finger technique book that was suppose be written by Bruce Lee and every thug in the picture is trying to get their hands on the book until Dragon Lee( Who half way does an good Bruce Lee impression). The odd thing about this movie is that Ron Van Clief is a bad guy in the movie challanging Dragon Lee and gets his butt whooped everytime. If you find it @ Media Play it's worth about the price i'd payed for it. TWO DOLLARS!
Blacula (1972)
Very good movie!
People fail to realize that with AIP pictures like Slaughter, Black Ceasar, and so on. That they continue from where the original left off at as with Blacula. Mamawalde is bitten by Dracula and is suppose to be nailed inside a casket forever, and now 400 years later the vampire returns and to wreak havoc on the streets of LA. Now enters Tina someone who resembles his deceased wife, and now he wants Tina forever and tries to get her to go with him. After she takes a bullet meant for him. He loses her forever and he takes his own life. William Marshall is one of the greatest figures in African-American film. Vonetta Mc Gee is alright along with all of the other cast members. In the second one/w Pam Grier Scream Blacula Scream he comes back to life through Voodoo and he tries to get rid of the demon that possesses him. I like it at the end when Don Mitchell(of Ironside fame) calls him Mamawalde. Then he realize that he won't get rid of that demon, so he accepts who he is Blacula! GOOD STUFF!
Halloween Havoc (1989)
An end of an era!
When Ted Turner change what has become Georgia Championship Wrestling to World Championship Wrestling who would know 10 years later the competition would buy them out(WWE). This was wrestling at it's best. None of that storyline crap or sports entertainment stuff. This was real wrestling. Hopefully with this re-vamped NWA-TNA some of the glory will come back.
The Mack (1973)
The most startling movie that I ever seen.
I never seen the Mack when it first came out, but when I was 13 , and I seen it at the Southern Theater in Columbus. I was shocked how the movie evolved. First he's released from prison after 5 years, and then his old flame(Carol Speed who was good) became one of his girls, and the two crooked cops that put him in the prison in first place harassing him, and killed his mother, and then kills a rival pimp with dynamite in the mouth, and then he shoots battery acid into the "Fat Man" after all this he winds up on top in the end despite all of the tragedy he went through. I don't know why Max Julien didn't do more movies than he did, but he's still a great actor. Richard Pryor does a great job as Goldie's sidekick Slick. I can see this movie many times over, because it was that good. If you get a chance buy this movie, it's available anywhere.
Three the Hard Way (1974)
The best action film I've seen.
When I was a kid I'd read Right On magazine, and when they said that they were going to make a picture with Jim Brown, Fred(The Hammer) Williamson, Jim(Enter the Dragon)Kelly I couldn't belive it, and then when I went to see another movie at the theater, and seen the previews of "Three the Hard Way" I knew this was a winner, and I was right; this is the best action movie of all time. The action scenes was non-stop, and the plot was not all that, but the way the big three got together was good, and Sheila Frazier is still beautiful as ever. The best part of the movie was the climaxing scenes when they finally take down the bad guys. If you get a chance to rent "Three the Hard Way" go to Blockbuster video store. I think they're the only ones that rents the movie. You wont be sorry!
