Knuckles (2024)
60% - It's alright for what it's trying to be
There's a lot I like and a lot I don't, it's just above average. I can only suggest it if you're a Sonic the Hedgehog fan in dire need of more movie Sonic content, or if you're okay with watching a Knuckles show that primarily features a human character barely related to him.
If you don't care about Wade and can wait for Sonic 3 to release, you might as well just skip it. It's not bad, it just drags on for so long on characters and scenes I just don't care about. I also really didn't like Wade's sister, Mild Spoilers: she's an adult women who works at the FBI who also acts like a child.
Again, I personally enjoyed it (for the most part), but I might've enjoyed it more without ads of CGI nightmare fuel Dora the Explorer and live-action The Loud House every ten to fifteen minutes on Paramount+, and also Wade's sister being deleted from existence.
Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)
65% - In one sentence: It's good if you're a fan
Watching it as a Five Nights at Freddy's movie made for the fans you'll enjoy it, and you must go off the expectation that it's a "break-in"/PG-13 Horror film (most critics seem to have forgotten what series and age range this is).
Over time, I've realized that most of the critic reviews are accurate in that average viewers won't enjoy it because they don't know the series, but that's the same for something like Avengers: Endgame. But Endgame gets away with it because critics know to skip it if they don't know Marvel or the Avengers. The reason for this is likely that most Movie Critics who review the movie love horror films (hardcore ones), but they don't play games, so they still watch while not knowing the source material.
So, who out of all Movie Critics will most likely review the Five Nights at Freddy's movie? Horror fanatics who don't know the difference between a FredBear and a Fazbear and who expect an actual horror film. Who is this movie for? The hardcore FNaF fans (not THE FAN, keep that thing away from me).
Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach - Ruin (2023)
Back to great FNaF, but not great horror
The DLC is pretty good, but I wished that the game was harder than it was. Whenever the virtual Bonnie appears you hear a horror sting and all you have to do to reset him is to take off the mask. If there was no sting you would actually have to look around, making it a difficult and interesting mechanic. At least the game's darker and has better environments. I seriously did not expect it to be this much better than the base game. The base game on release day was a three (maybe four) out of ten, but this is immediately so much scarier, fun, and higher quality than the base game. Good job Steelwool, can't wait to see your next project!
