Mystery Island (2023)
A total snooze fest!
This movie was a perfect way to catch up on my sleep; 2 hours of total boredom! The whole premise was overwhelmingly ridiculous, and the acting was terrible, and totally unbelievable. I certainly hope that The Hallmark Channel doesn't have any plans to turn it into a regular series, because there's no way that they could make anything worse than this was. The setting was the only thing that made this even remotely watchable, but it was exceedingly difficult to stay awake long enough to watch this. I'm usually a fan of the Hallmark Channel films, but this one might make me swear off of them for a while.
Haul Out the Holly (2022)
One of the worst Hallmark Christmas movies ever!
This one was so bad, we turned it off before it was halfway done! It started off terrible, then it digressed to horrible; the plot was ridiculous, the acting was terrible, and the whole premise of the movie was TOTALLY awful. Lacey Chabert must've done this just for the paycheck! There's not enough adjectives in the English language to describe how really bad this Hallmark offering really was. I truly believe that they need to hire a totally new team of scriptwriters, because the current ones are definitely not doing the job anymore. There's no more creativity or originality in their current offerings, which is sad.
Thirteen Lives (2022)
Ron Howard has delivered another masterpiece!
This is an amazing story of hope, community spirit, and worldwide involvement. Ron Howard has done an amazing job of bringing this story to us, and keeping us totally absorbed until the very end. Viggo Mortensen and Colin Farrell showed their characters' determination and skill, and were perfect choices in their roles. This is a "feel good" movie that will not disappoint you!
Ad Astra (2019)
Two hours of my life, that I'll never get back
There are so many aspects of this film that make so little sense, and I seriously wonder why this film was ever green lighted for production. The plot was flimsy, the acting sketchy, and the special effects marginal. I'm a big fan of space movies, but this one was almost unwatchable.
Chernobyl (2019)
The truth about an absolutely frightening event
When The Chernobyl accident happened, the world was kept in the dark about how serious it really was; now we know. This is an absolutely riveting 5 part series that should be seen by everyone
The Town Christmas Forgot (2010)
Two hours of my life that I'll never get back
What can I say that's good about this holiday movie? Hmm... Let's see; Thank God it wasn't longer or I would've died of boredom...The 11:00 news was on after it so I was able to get back to reality; It was in color; oh, wait, that was Disney's ploy back in the 60's...Let's face it; this has to be one of the worst holiday movies I've ever seen in my life...Can't we get anything that isn't filmed in Canada with really bad Canadian actors? The acting & directing was abysmal & the sets looked like they were knocked together in about 5 minutes. The sun was shining during the "blizzard" & the plot was a joke. As Dan Ackroyd used to say during his SNL movie reviews: "Boy, That really bit the big one". I'm usually a fan of the Hallmark holiday films but I think this one might just make me swear off of them forever. Police departments could use this movie to torture people into confessing to crimes...although it might be considered as cruel and unusual punishment. This movie may also be banned by The Geneva Convention, so we probably can't use it to replace waterboarding. It should be a federal crime to walk into a crowded room and shout "The Town Christmas Forgot"
