Hairspray (2007)
What a wonderful happy movie
Excellent. That's all I can say ... Like others here, this movie has put a smile from the beginning till the end of the show. Not to mention the songs are great. You just can't stop moving your feet even though you are restricted on your seat. The girl next to me was even dancing along the beat .. yeah dancing on her seat ... and she was clapping after every song of the show. That's the level of excitement this show brings. The casting is just perfect. Can't ask for more. Brilliant acting, singing and dancing. I just wish it never ends .. but ah well .. it ends at the high note anyway ... so it's well worth it. Go watch ... unless you don't like musical sort of show ... but if you love music ... you should give it a try. It'll not fail to make you smile.

Cages (2005)
Not Only Birds Are in Cages
I watched this movie based on the one and only comment provided on IMDb and I trusted it and went to watch. First ten minutes of the show, a couple went off and I was a bit demoralized but heck I've paid my share and I'm going to make it worth it.
For those who hate slow ... draggy movie (though this one is not that bad) I still advise you won't go and watch it. But for those who you who can truly enjoy a work of art even though at times you don't understand what the director is trying to say ... welcome to "Cages".
To me, Cages is about the main characters - Ali & Tan - who have been living in cages of their emotions and perceptions. How did they get out and be free? That's the revelation of the movies. It's about a daughter who couldn't forgive her father. A father who couldn't forgive the past. And how their gaps are filled through things they don't expect.
I really need to applaud the acting of Tan Kheng Hua. She's amazing. I'm looking at her with a different perspective now and she's not only the Phua Chu Kang star but also a true artist.
Even though like I said earlier I didn't understand what the director was trying to do but during the last scene, I teared. I guess that's the feeling when one has been free from the cages of their own lives.
Hard Candy (2005)
Tasteful "Hard Candy"
I applaud myself for choosing this show to watch on a gloomy Monday. Though it's supposed to be a thriller, but boy, it's the coolest show I've watched this year so far and it casted all my glooms away.
It was surprising to find out that there were only 5 main actor/actresses in the show but yet the movie was so tastefully put together and two-thumbs-up + two-toes-up for Ellen Page who've developed such a skill in acting. Though this time she didn't walk through any walls (like how she did in X-men 3) but she definitely walked through my mind with deep impressions.
Till the end of the show, I could only be awed by the script, storyline, simple settings and Ellen Page's acting.
Sometimes, something simple can be profound too. Just like how some occurrences in life can be.
Don't miss out the twists. And watch out for your own twists in life. :-) D.D.
If Only (2004)
Meaningful Lessons to be Learnt
Bumped into this movie by chance. Never heard of this movie before till I found the DVD on my flatmate's desk. And GASP, I thank above for sending such a beautiful creation to me.
To everyone that hasn't watched it, I highly recommend it. Not because of the actor, actress, settings, storyline, etc but because it's simple. It's the meaning behind it and what lesson you can draw from it.
Well, it's kinda fairy tale like. Hence the title "If Only" ... it will not be possible in real life but then again, watch it and think again. Life is always about the present moment, the NOW and how you are going to live each moment, is depend on your own decision.
Though certain things are fated but Life still have lots of rooms to play, free will - they call it. And it's those free-will that we need to grab the moments and truly live it.
To learn how to love someone is not just the amount of time you spent, but the quality of it and every thought-process behind every decision that you make counts.
Hope you enjoy and don't forget to grasp the essence of the show.
