Sublime (2022)

Disappointing
26 January 2023
It's not that bothered me somehow, it was just so empty and wordless that gets tired. This movie doesn't communicate nothing interesting during its entire history.

I have to admit that it does have sensibility scenes and a little bit of reflection, but it's still not enough to cover a repetitive and slow emotional pallets.

Instead of dreams demonstrating how Manu felt about Felipe, why not develop their relationship during the years and then how they should deal with challenges? It's just how I see a handful of ideas thrown into a melancholic and spiritless disappointing teenage drama.

However, it does have a right direction carried in long plans, with insufficient emotional charge.

kinda movie that tries to do your mind by it's first minutes, but...

In this reboot of the weak Leatherface's saga, except for the first movie, we have an also weak development in every sense you can think, in every sector of it.

We've got a lot of teenagers that BOUGHT a CITY in the middle of nowhere to create a hippie society there. And don't misunderstand, this could be an interesting subject IF the movie get into these discussion. Which did not happened at all I personally think that the autor could give his story some profundity, but he preferes to take the protagonists past and throw it in trash, by guiding everything to a nonsense blood storm and, honestly, who cares to that old lady with a giant gun?

Any way, what made this movie so dumb was not the fact of no interesting characters to care about, but how the script doesn't do anything more of a unjustified violence for every of the constructions it could have done.

4/10 (it has a nice photography)

The Lighthouse (I) (2019)
10/10
Outstanding, visceral and emotionally disturbing
21 January 2022
"The Lighthouse" was definitely not made by anyone, and Robert Eggers proves that his also horrifying "The Witch" deserved it's whole success.

The movie shows us, with no regrets, the cruelty and physicality consequences of a psychological perspective about human relationships, and how they can be degrading. For that, the director insere us into a very uncomfortable environment that converge into the characters perspectives. We can literally feel how disgusting is to live as they're living. And for that, the details expressed by the realistic design and outstanding performances breaks down all of our defenses and push us into a suffocating storyline.

It's wonderful to see someone always trying to bring something different for a movie gender that sometimes it's so repetitive as horror movies.
