Leave the World Behind (2023)
Not worth watching.
How in the world could anyone ever like this movie. Each scene has some part of it that is unbelievable and it's hard to watch a movie where everyone seems to make bad choices just to keep the plot going. The acting was atrocious. Julie Roberts and Ethan Hawks couldn't seem to act their way out of a paper bag. I've seen them act well before, but this is not the one. Having said this, Majersjala Ali was outstanding. He was very believable and we need to see him in more movies.
The biggest question I have is why I sat through it till the end.
What happened to decent movies? Will we ever get good movies back.
The Whale (2022)
Ugh
The only reason I give the movie even 2 stars is because Brendan Fraser's acting was exceptional. I don't know how he could have performed it any better.
Having said all of the above, the movie was awful. It is highly predictable and if you enjoy watching a movie that is full of dysfunctional people with no redeeming value then this is the movie for you. I am so tired of movies with bratty kids that do their best to make their parents look stupid. I get the background and why she is supposed to be this way, but I have grown tired of seeing this in every show.
They even went so far as to make the Christian look stupid.
Royal Ashes (2022)
Highly Recommend
Every once in a while a low budget movie comes your way and you love it. This is one of them and I have already recommend it to several of my friends. A few of the characters cannot act and it can bring the movie down in places, but the main characters played by David Alford and Joseph Stam were very good. One scene was shockingly good where David nailed it. I have also watched Found and although I liked it, it didn't quit captivate me the same as Royal Ashes. I hope that the two co-writers continue so that we can see more of their work. My hope is that next movie has a fewer bad actors and a few less scenes that are over acted.
7 donne e un mistero (2021)
Way better than rated
Occasionally a movie comes along that you take a chance on believing it may be better than reviewers have rated and it I am here to say that this is one of them. We had fun sitting down to an easy going mystery that made us laugh.
The character build up was excellent and every character had a reason to murder. I may have guessed the ending as we got near it, but that doesn't make the movie any less enjoyable. I hope that we see more movies like this in the future so we can watch something besides the glamours Hollywood style that has grown so tiresome. Some may call this movie silly, but I call it refreshing.
The Watcher (2022)
Hard to watch
There were so many holes and the characters were so unbelievable that it was difficult to watch. I cannot recommend and I have no idea why so many people gave it a good review.
If you enjoy over the top plots and main characters that are perpetually angry and go around accusing absolutely everyone they come in contact with, then you will like it.
It felt like the only way the plot could keep going is to ignore what should be the next step to find out the truth. Maybe it would have been better it if was only 3 episodes instead of 7. I don't mind a who done it, but it has to keep moving in a way that worlds.
