Sleeper Agent (2020)
great Christian comedy/spy movie
I wish there were more Christian movies like this. I'm not too much in the slow progressive movies, that a lot of Christian movies tend to have (just my opinion). And I've seen a lot of end time movies, which I'm tired of. This movie was a breath of fresh air. It was funny, but cheesy at times. Some times the camera would move around (that's from not having the camera mounted but instead they had the camera man hold it --I have a friend that's been a cameraman for decades). I would like to see more scifi and comedy from Christian writers/producers/directors. Tired of having to watch big name movies with lots of cussing and sexual innuendos in them. Just want some good, clean movies to watch, especially some with good godly content.
Wedding Every Weekend (2020)
Shame on Hallmark
Hallmark is no longer wholesome but bowing down to popular and worldly desires. For a supposedly Christian channel, they have un-Christian themes. That is why so many great actors and actresses have left Hallmark, and went on to another channel that offers better, wholesome family shows.
Is there anything good about the movie outside the theme that is being presented? The choice of actors and actresses is good. It is a Hallmark made movie which never disappoints (except in this case, it is the script that disappoints).
This is not for me but others might like it. I just prefer some old wholesome family movies to be made.
Take a Chance (2006)
decent movie
I'm not a Mormon but did find the movie.entertaining. Usually Christian movies are cheesy because of the budget (which I'm sure the budget wasn't huge on this one) but the acting was good and the script was also good. I'm a non-denominational Christian, and it gave some insight to the Mormons. I'm not going to convert over but I will continue watching films like this, given that the plot and acting is decent. It is better than what's on television now days, which is nothing short of filthy language. It's just not like the old days.
This film is funny, especially the bowling part. No spoilers but it's worth watching at least once. Finding out that the two main characters are Mormons in real life is kind of funny, since they do a good job acting like they have never seen a church before. Like I said, pretty good acting. It's a show I would watch again.
Titanic II (2010)
A Shane Van Dyke film
Shane's attempt at writing and directing a film. Grandson of the infamous actor Dick Van Dyke and son of actor Barry Van Dyke. Shane and his two brothers play in this movie.
The movie is subpar and low budget. In most scenes you can tell cheesy background scenes were used. No big actors were used. This is more of a movie for wanna be actors.
Two stars for Shane's attempt at scripting and producing a movie.
Post Impact (2004)
terrible
Didn't care for the bad language or the nudity. Movies can do without these things. Also badly written. I guess adding a nude woman would get people to watch this boring movie. And the bad language, well, it didn't help at all.
Cold Zone (2017)
big goof
This is not the only film where Canadian film makers make the goof saying that it's taking place in America but then spell words in Canadian English. When they were at the Health Center, there was an American flag, but the sign had "HEALTH CENTRE". In America we spell it 'center'.
Okay, movie. Some places are confusing. Action is not there, too slow moving. Acting is mediocre.
2012: Doomsday (2008)
too much music
I'm all for Christian based movies but this movie is annoying. Throughout the whole movie there is music playing. It's so bad that in some places you can't even hear the actors say their lines. It's like they inserted music over the whole movie and didn't take the time to see if it interfered with the dialog. I don't know if there was a story line or anything. Stopped watching after about 10-15 minutes.
Charge Over You (2010)
just terrible
The beginning is so horrible that it's funny. The director has no knowledge of how emergencies are handled. I've worked a field where cpr and emergencies were almost a daily occurrence. Those two guys were like dumb and dumber. You don't sit there and slowly put on gloves. And also the use of the stethoscope, lame. Never seen someone check a pulse then use a stethoscope. Couldn't go on from there. If the opening scene is that bad, then the rest is more than likely just as bad. Please directors, do your homework on procedures before making a film, it makes the film horrible to watch, especially by professionals in the field.
