Fishing with Dynamite (2019)
A Creative Outlook on Capitalism
I'm someone who previously has tried to avoid conversations about capitalism and the economy at all costs, except for to advocate for fair trade purchases. I felt uneducated and like I didn't have enough of a grasp on the necessary lingo to form a strong or educated opinion (besides knowing that capitalism is bad.) Fishing with Dynamite provides an opportunity for viewers to not only learn about what capitalism could be, or what it should be, but educates with a combination of anecdotes from those within the field (even on opposing sides!), popular film clips, and narration over clever animation.
For someone looking to solidify a grasp on how capitalism can become a good thing, and be used for good, I strongly recommend this film.
Jungle Beat: The Movie (2020)
"A-MAZ-ING!"
Sweet movie with strong positive family values. My younger brother really enjoyed watching Fneep's journey into the jungle and following his friendships as they developed. The movie includes adventure, friendship, challenging harmful systems, adorable characters that learn to stand up for themselves and each other, familial love and highlights the power of second chances. All of the characters present undergo some sort of change whether it be that they find their strength or find their identity.
Love Goes Public (2019)
LOVE
Or more simply put by "Love Goes Public," Leaving Others Very Encouraged- and that's exactly what this film does! Principal Brelinda Sullen breathes life into a hurting school community in the Alabama black belt through the investment of her love, time, and even finances. Love Goes Public is a story of truth and of sacrifice. The documentary serves as a small glimpse into the legacy that Principal Sullen has left on the school, but more importantly on its students. After watching the film I found myself wishing that I could hug her and thank her personally, even though I've never met her. This story is a story deserving to be told and heard.
