John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
Satisfying...
John Wick 4 was all the action of the past three movies wrapped into one. Yes, supersized action no doubt! For us, diehard fans it delivered, and also provided closure with an end to the epic saga. I hated that it ended though. I have my fingers crossed for John Wick's resurrection and a #5 sequel. Yes, these movies are not too deep and the characters and combat are exaggerated; but that is what we like. That is why we watch them. If you are a fan and loved the other three, this one will not disappoint you. The only reason why I did not give it a perfect score is because I hated Bill Skarsgard as The Marquis de Gramont. I hated his forced French accent and his acting altogether. ( Couldn't they find a real French actor?) He brought the story down for me, but I loved everybody else's acting and I was quite entertained by the whole movie.
Psychonaut (2016)
Turn you off from the beginning
Incredible cheaply made. Terrible special visual effects. Contrite dialogue. It was a big NO for me; but I didn't go far into the story because it was so unpleasant to watch. Definitely, I do not recommend this one. Incredible cheaply made. Terrible special visual effects. Contrite dialogue. I found it on Amazon and it look good at first; but what a disappointment. I thought to myself "a movie so bad should be free"; then I realized it is! They even changed the original name and the screen picture to make it alluring I suppose; yet the movie is still terrible.
Cargo (2017)
Long, slow; and I saw the story is not new
Ok, I was bored to tears... so I fast-forwarded the rest of the movie. It's way to slow and definitely not an action movie... The weirdest part of it all is that at the end, I remembered seeing this same " story" somewhere else... (?? ) but it was a mother that dies and gets used to transport the others to safety... ( Maybe an episode of TWD or FTWD?? I can't recall) ... Maybe a totally different movie, I just can't recall... Anyway however plagiarized the plot line should be ashamed...
Gordon Behind Bars (2012)
I found a new measure of respect for this man...
Gordon Ramsay has become so popular with his cooking shows that by now I assume everybody knows who he is; but other than him being a renown chef and successful businessman I really never saw him as more than another "show-biz" rich guy. In my opinion this tv show is not like his usual shows.
This one has profound meaning since it gave prisoners a chance to learn a trade, better themselves in every way; and rejoin society by becoming productive responsible individuals. It would be great if more people could ( and would) donate their time and participate in this kind of productive programs.
I wish Gordon Ramsay could do more shows like this one. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the "real man" behind his "famous persona". I like this Ramsay better.
This is my favorite of his shows! It truly has meaning behind it, and you can't stop watching because it is an interesting show, and you want the prisoners to succeed so badly!
This Beautiful Fantastic (2016)
Fantasy!
Sweet and wholesome, like you don't find often anymore. I am so glad this actress left Downtown Abbey! She found great roles and has grown so much!
Ladies in Lavender (2004)
Excellent but very sad
Prime Video ( Amazon) has this movie classified under " Comedy-Drama-Romance" -
What a big mistake! The actors are excellent of course, and the story is sweet; but I was expecting a comedy...
I was hoping to cheer up a bit... nope!
Do not expect a happy, vivacious movie; by the end I was actually in tears.
