Big Mouse-Take (1965)
The last HB cartoon.
This was Hanna-Barbera's last cartoon feature in theaters. It started with Tom and Jerry with 'Puss Gets the Boot' in 1940 and it ends with Loopy de Loop's 'Big Mouse-take'. It's very good that Loopy's last cartoon ended on a high- note without him getting injured in previous cartoons. I wish that they (Warner Bros.) could put Loopy de Loop cartoons on DVD. Even though he went into obscurity, I'm very sure that one day we could have his cartoons bring in a new audience. Heck, I could see him one day make a cameo appearance on 'Harvey Birdman'being tried of harassment even though he was trying to help someone like he usually does, or maybe they could use him in new cartoon adventures.
The Wiz (1978)
So bad, It's Funny!
This was a big flop when it came out, but when I was a kid I watched this movie all the time. Diana Ross was too old for the part, but Michael Jackson was great in that film. This was Nipsey Russel's only big movie billing and he did well as the Tin Man. Then there was Ted Ross who played the Lion. OZ was more like New York City and there was many artifacts of New York so this was more of an urbanized version of the movie. Then there's the Wicked Witch Eveline and she sat on a Giant Toilet! And she didn't melt, she actually got flushed down the giant toilet. Then the ogres who worked with her become ballet dancers wearing small Bathing suits that look like underwear! The Wiz is played by Richard Pryor and I wish he would've put a few laughs with his stand-up. (It would be a little less off-color.) But still a good cult classic!
