The Singing Trophy (1992)
Beer, pickled onions, and taxidermy
Was living in NZ when this short came out. It was played before the main feature at a movie theater, which was fairly common at that time. I don't remember much about The Singing Trophy other than thinking it was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen. I do recall there's a man in a cabin who makes his own entertainment with the help of beer, pickled onions, and taxidermy. It's made enough of an impression that, more than 10 years later, I was compelled to search it out on the web hoping I could purchase it on DVD or download (no luck). I'd dearly love to see it again to see if it stands up to my memory of it. I read that it is included on the Kombi Nation DVD released in NZ, but the US release I got my hands on didn't have any of Grant Lahood's short films.
