Haunted Honeymoon (1986)
I shouldn't like it but I do
I know this film is Kitsch with a capital K but I love every minute of it.
There's something really special about it knowing the two stars where deeply in love, with Gilda Radnor battling on with strength and determination.
The film is very British, and has a real naivety that belies the age it was made. I am a huge Gene Wilder fan and maybe this film doesn't hit the heights of some of his bigger movies like Stir Crazy, Blazing Saddles, the list goes on.
Part supernatural, part thriller and part who do it, with a Orson Welles feel to the movie. Set in a aging country house where something is very wrong and keeps you wanting more. Great British supporting cast with Jonathon Pryce, Peter Vaughn and the brilliant butler played by. Jim Carter.
Relax, chill out with a whimsical who done it.
Ragdoll (2021)
Truly Terrible with no appeal
I'm not sure who thought that this was of acceptable quality to show on TV, but whoever buys this drivel for there channel needs psychiatric help!!
I struggle to understand how anyone could recommend any rating above 1 star and I think that's kind.
I don't blame the actors although I do hope they got well paid as I'm not sure it's likely to aid their careers. The characters where one dimensional and predictable without any appeal whether in a good or bad way.
Ludicrous and thin storyline with no saving graces. Please, please, please don't watch this . I know their are programmes out there that are so bad, their good, this just isn't one of them.
I would rather have my left kidney removed with a rusty kitchen knife than sit through several hours of this awful programme.
The best part of this programme are the ending credits.
Gangs of London (2020)
Utter and total dribble
I know I am in the minority, but why oh why was this ever made. If your impressed with ridiculous amounts of unrealistic violence over story, realism, creativity and down right common sense, then please watch this abysmal attempt at story telling. The violence is extreme and from my point of view totally pointless and unbelievable. I think the best way to describe the violence is to view it like Kill Bill but without the excellent direction, acting and story. The story is so thin it could have been told in three episodes, but then you would have missed a human body explode when shot, as you do. The dialogue doesn't match with the violence, so you have a extremely violent individuals who seem to converse together politely, who very rarely swear or utter any obscenities, even though they've been bought up on the tough and rough streets of London. The acting is at best average and never really pulls you into the story and to be honest most of the characters seem totally unlike able so I found it difficult to really care if the under cover cop survived or not. I've given 3 stars purely from the quality of the filming and locations and I think that's rather kind.
So to conclude if you like ridiculous amounts of unrealistic violence and not bothered about story, you'll love it.
