No Time to Die (2021)
Lacking the 'James Bond' element and a very mediocre final outing for Daniel Craig.
Another James Bond actor fallen victim to the plague which is having a mediocre or terrible final outing as James Bond. The plot is very interesting and it is nice to get some backstory about Madeline Swanns character, however the first half is dragged out and largely pointless to the second half of the film. Dialogue is very bland littered with dodgy jokes and no 'stand out' action scene. Bringing Felix Leighter back only to be killed of is largely pointless. Milking the Vesper Story is stupid. The 'climax' at the end is largely disappointing and WHY KILL JAMES BOND? It is going to be really interesting to see the future of this franchise considering you have just killed off the main character. Seems like a pathetic excuse just to add a female James Bond for political purposes. Remember when this franchise was good and had a nice simple plot- James Bond is given a mission, he completes mission and meets some chick along the way. Simple. Nope the producers feel the need for 2 and a half hour films to add pointless characters and give them their own arc and backstory. More work with less payoff. Really goes to show that having a $200 million budget can only disguise a ruined franchise to a limited extent. This is an improvement from Spectre in the sense that the characters actually do something and it is nice to see Q getting some screen time finally. It seems like the new MI6 cast are finally being used after being introduced in Skyfall and falling flat on their face in Spectre. Definitely see this film but this isn't what the producers made it out to be it is just a sad attempt at reinventing James Bond after 6 years of pain from a 50 year franchise.
The Spy Next Door (2010)
Not at all entertaining
This film is one of the worst films I have ever seen and I don't know why the rating is as high as it is. I understand that this is a family movie but that doesn't excuse it from at least having effort put into it. Almost every element of the film is bad.
Actors- Jackie Chan is decent in his role as a retired spy however they never establish why he has these unique abilities like being exempt from following the laws of physics. I guess the writers are to lazy to establish anything in this film and just want us to roll with it.
The three children are loud, annoying, rude and have some of the most clunky and corny dialogue in the movie. They are mostly there to crack a joke every few minutes but instead of laughing I just sat there and wondered how anyone can find this film funny in any way, unless you are about 4 years old.
There's not much to say about the mother other than that she is incredibly boring.
The villains don't really do much the entire film and their "evil plan" isn't explained or really mentioned until the last 15 minutes of the movie. This further shows how lazy the writers are as they can't be bothered to write a script that teases the villains plan thruought the movie.
The plot- Other than the few scenes of the villains in their base, most of the movie is just Bob looking after the annoying children sho still hate him. The film never properly explains why the children are so horrible to him because that would require effort. The acting is appalling and the cgi used is pathetic. It makes the movie look like it came out in 2002. The film doesn't progress at all. Bob receives these gadgets and they show a montage of him using them to fill in the empty script. Every scene feels strung together loosely with no progress being made.
The reason I'm not giving this film a 1/10 is because the action is so dreadful and unrealistic it is actually fairly entertaining.
Avoid this movie as it is a waste of time and you gain nothing from enduring it.
Mr. Young (2011)
Just OK.
For a low budget comedy it does an ok job at holding up, however it is just bland and boring.
All of the jokes are just tacky, all of the characters are stereotypical, nothing is new or original and the storyline isn't that interesting.
It's not the worst budget comedy but it's not the best either.
The show is mostly forgettable but if low budget comedy's are your thing I advise checking it out.
