Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)
lovable characters, but plot not all there
This was beautifully animated, paced, and executed -- but some parts of the plot seem unsteady, which tends to be an issue at Walt Disney Animation because of their insane deadlines. I hope they figure out how to pace themselves moving forward.
Walker: A Tale of Two Families (2021)
WHAT!
This is my favorite episode so far, in a horrible way. It's intense, and super insightful, and wow -- so important to the overall story. Stirred real physical reactions from me, and man, I might need a pacemaker after this one.
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Great animation, rollercoaster of a story
The animation is so next level! Sometimes the humor was super cringy, though, but it had really genuinely funny moments that made up for it. The story was weirdly relatable, and cool to see these unique characters come together.
Walker: Freedom (2021)
yanked me around
This episode had so many moments that got a physical reaction from me! First of all, it was AMAZING to see Hoyt back, he's probably my second favorite character! I'm not the biggest fan of this love triangle, but I think that's the point. It was so painful to see Geri reject Hoyt.... really interested in where that's going next. It's nice to see a well balanced episode of the best character storylines. Liam is good, Micki and Trey are so sweet, and Cordell... what's NOT up with him? Very intriguing and I like not having a "case" episode.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: One World, One People (2021)
alright?
I think the strengths of this series ended up being the characters themselves, and their personal lives -- the action and that storyline was too packaged and stereotypical marvel. The twists were visible from miles away, but the best parts were definately characters and their dynamics.
Walker: Encore (2021)
love all of these characters
It was great to have a well balanced episode that featured all the great characters and new/good dynamics. The case procedural isn't really my cup of tea, but the other storylines were enough to keep me interested. More excited for the next episode.
Shameless: Father Frank, Full of Grace (2021)
Near perfect
I've been watching this show for years and years now.
I love the morals of why they ended it this way. The performances was great, pacing was great, the parallels -- WHEW, the parallels! I'm happy with it. Good shots, too. It just //makes sense//.
That's the way we get by!
Walker: Rule Number 17 (2021)
OH MAN
First of all, it's great to see all the balance between these lovable characters and their stories.
Second, jeez. The performances. Some real tear jerkers here.
Third -- that last scene ??? UMMMM but that's entertainment for you! Had me at the edge of my seat for sure.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Power Broker (2021)
cool, but can't find it in myself to care
Maybe its because I'm not a Marvel fanatic -- this is pretty well MADE, but the story can be so uninteresting.
Walker: Fine Is a Four Letter Word (2021)
SO INTENSE
The plot was crazy in a really interesting way! Had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. I love these characters already, it's hard NOT to be invested in them! And there was some really cool sequences and shots in this episode, especially towards the end. I think this one is better than the last 2.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: New World Order (2021)
lets see...
The action scenes are a little boring to me, but the insight into both characters' personal lives is beyond interesting. I feel like we're going to get a lot of good arc here.
Walker: Tracks (2021)
held my breath
Wow, this was an intense one! Not as solid as last week, but still solidly entertaining. Walker and his family's story remains my favorite, I'm always so concerned for everyone! I feel like Micki's plot is getting a little weak, but it might be too early to tell. As always, the performances are good and the chemistry is awesome. The dramatic moments have me at the edge of my seat !!
Super excited for next week.
WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)
Could've been better
The acting was amazing, and the effects pretty cool, but Marvel kind of dropped the ball here story-wise. They had a lot of wide-open playing field that they chose not to use, and compared to some earlier episodes, this one fell shorter. It seemed disorganized at times and was scrambling to fill up the episode time (white vision.... introduced in a credit scene and then resolved by a ... riddle). But overall, the family dynamic was really cool and had me crying real hard with those end scenes. The family story is the strongest part, with the action feeling pretty weak. Good series.
Walker: Bar None (2021)
Woah
Gosh those twists!
The episode was well balanced between a lot of characters we want to see and get to know. The acting was really well done, and the story overall was intriguing. The last few minutes... hot damn.
Not as good as some other episodes, but still one of the better ones!
Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (2021)
I knew this story, but seeing it this way...
People my age know this story very well. But its so crazy to see people who were there be interviewed personally, it makes it so real.
It was interesting to see her tumblr, too.
Some of the "web sleuth" interviews were cringy, though.
Walker: Duke (2021)
duke
This episode was much more interesting than the last one! It was really wild to see Walker struggle with going back into that persona and taking all that baggage on. Micki really killed it, and it was so fun for her character to be able to play a different person, too. It was really sweet how Liam was a worried mess the whole time.
Very entertaining.
Walker: Don't Fence Me In (2021)
micki centric
Good to have some time to really start to pick apart micki. also makes way for what looks like a LOT of upcoming drama/tension!!
Steve Jobs (2015)
Insane story, insane visuals
Uniquely directed to show a bold story that needs to be heard. The visuals are so purposeful and next-level, with performances that knock this movie out of the park.
Walker: Bobble Head (2021)
Bar got way higher
I wish I could go back and adjust the other episode reviews, because wow - this one is definitely my favorite by far. While I tend to stray away from shows that have a lot of characters, this one manages to make them all very interesting. Nothing in this episode felt unnecessary or dragged out. If you thought the dynamics between characters was good before, you're in for a treat with this one!! Through-and-through entertaining
Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
Worst Marvel franchise, still funny
This series obviously wasn't given the best writers/directors....... its not very engaging and up to Marvel standards, but of course Paul Rudd is amazing and its very funny at times.
Me: I dont really like this
Movie: *features part of San Francisco where I work*
Me: I LIKE THIS
Walker: Back in the Saddle (2021)
Here we goooo
The pilot gave us brief intros to a lot of characters, and now we're finally able to get more of a peak into their lives -- Walker is so enticing, his cockiness and angst flipping back and forth all the time. Micki is so cool, and I'm so glad to finally have some Mexican rep on TV. I'm really interested in the family stories over the case stories, that's something I can do without. Also would like to see more of Walker's parents. So far, really cool montages and tension in the family.
The Endless (2017)
One of a kind
Characters I've never seen before, a plot no one has thought of -- its super unique but so very intriguing. It's message is clear and true and the dynamic of characters is so fun to follow. Super recommended for a genuinely uniquely scary movie with a good story to pair.
The Haunting of Hill House: Silence Lay Steadily (2018)
Crazy good ending for a crazy show
The father's monologue where he finally gets a spine in the car.... jesus. Jesus. This ending is crazy amazing for all of the characters, brings suspense in every scene, and ends with a final punctuation mark - family. Siblings. The crazy dynamic in between and ghosts. Insane.
Nelly's monologue was crazy good, too. The writers know how to do this right, and paired with the talent's stunning performances - it's art.
Walker: Pilot (2021)
I want to know more!!!
I went into this knowing nothing about Walker, but just from this first episode (pretty shots, good soundtrack, amazing acting), I can tell this show transcends the usual 'CW' lull. I want to know more about the characters and their relationships! Really good chemistry
Walker (2021)
Im so interested in this family dynamic
I wasn't expecting to like this so much!! The cast and chemistry is such a hit, and the story is compelling - I want to know more!! I love that Walker is nowhere near perfect and how Micki puts him in his place.
Watch this show along with me and lets see where it goes!!!
