Scream VI (2023)
Worst "Horror" Movie i've ever seen.
It is literally beyond me how this movie sits at this score. I'm not even sure if this is real? If so, i'm about to lose my faith in humanity.
This movie is neither funny nor scary. It's also bad at being a slasher, not even the kills are good or creative. It even fails to create a tense or scary atmosphere.
It's like watching a soap opera with a couple (bad) kills in between.
The only "creative" part of Scream 5 was the part where the actors "talk and make fun of horror franchises while being stuck in one lol" is also not funny anymore. (it happens here too, but way worse and less)
Are we brainless monkeys and have to rate movies high just because of this reason? Come on guys.
Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)
Guy Ritchie, but on Netflix Level.
If you expect a Netflix Action Comedy type of Production then this movie might works for you.
But since i'm a die hard Guy Ritchie Fan i except dark humor, good dialogues, plot twists, jump shots etc, everything that makes this Director so special.
This Movie however, has nothing of it. The Action scenes work fine, but the Characters and the cast of this movie, oh boy.
Bugzy "JJ" Malone has to be one of the most dull and one dimensional characters i've ever seen. Of course it's not his fault, the reason is terrible writing. His whole character feels like a gap filler.
Aubrey "Sarah" Plaza on the other hand is point blank terrible. Literally every scene is cringe on another level. This whole "I'm a hacker but i'm also a cool bad ass" persona feels very forced and everytime she is on screen i want to mute this movie.
Overall without a doubt Guy Ritchie's worst movie of all time. And yes, even Revolver (2005) feels like a masterpiece compared to this.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Disappointing
Highly disappointing sequel. Everything fresh about AQP 1 is missing here. Instead of "smart horror" (which was part 1, atleast to me) you'll get every horror cliche from the book of stupid decisions in horror movies.
Huge letdown of opportunities. I'm also wondering how this flick is rated over 7, come on guys.
The Empty Man (2020)
One of the biggest surprises this year.
First of all do yourself a favor and do NOT watch the trailer, all the reviews here are absolutely right. The trailer fools you into believing this movie is gonna be something like a "teenie-slasher movie", which couldnt be more wrong.
If you like occult/cult horror flicks like "Midsommar" you're gonna love this one, promise! I would even rate this higher than "The VVitch".
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Really wanted to love this one
But i can't. I was really hyped for the Snyder cut, maybe it's just me but it couldn't live up to my expectations.
First of all aspect ratio, i'm aware about vertical shots and artistic vision and i also know we've talked about this enough already. But i just couldnt get used to it even after 2 hours. In my opinion Zack should've went atleast for the original idea, which was 1,66:1.
We have some super corny and cringeworthy dialogs, especially in the beginning. Wonder Woman responses are almost on Robot level.
Normally i like Snyder's Slow Motion stuff (like in 300), but in this movie it feels literally like a slow-mo overdose on steroids.
This movie is still far superior to the original 2017 version though. But i also believe it is way too overhyped because of the current cinema situation.
It is just the 2017 version with a lot of bonus footage, "fan service" i guess.
La paranza dei bambini (2019)
Expected nothing, what a surprise.
Didn't even watched a trailer before so my expectations were very low. Actually a really decent mafia flick even though this movie is about the younger generation in Naples. Story developed very well, pacing was also good. Never felt even slightly bored in 2 hours. Oh and the actors did a great job despite they're basically "NoNames". Overall a real hidden gem of a movie.
(I didnt liked the ending that much so it's not a 10 for me)
I'm hyped to see more of Claudio Giovannesi in the future. 8.5/10
Freaky (2020)
Baffled by the rating.
I blame the score on the covid situation, there is no way this movie would've been rated even over 4 without it.
What exactly is this movie? I'm not sure. It's not scary so it's no horror flick. It's not funny so it's not a comedy. Slasher? We have far better ones for this aswell.
Oh and btw if you've seen the trailer you basically saw the whole movie, yes even chronological.
2 Stars for Vince Vaughn and that's it, i'm sorry. Trash.
