Miss March (2009)
Whether you watch WKUK or not, proceed the film with EXTREME caution...
Some things you're likely to hear people say after seeing Miss March advertised on television. "Oh, that's Trevor Moore and Zach Creggar! They're from WKUK! I can't wait to see it!" or "Oh, I love WKUK, let's go check that out!" Do you know how I know this? I was one of those people. This is a film that according to many many critics, "If you're a fan of the show, you'll quite probably enjoy this movie." Guess what. The critics were wrong. I find Whitest Kids U' Know hilarious, sketch after sketch, it leaves me amazed. They were in my area and I would have killed to see them perform some sketches live. Trevor, Zach, and the other Whitest Kids are some of my favorite comic performers alive today. Anyway, now onto the film.
Miss March is about a kid who plans to lose his virginity to his girlfriend on prom night. The kid is Eugene Bell, played by Zach Creggar. His best friend, Tucker Cleigh, played by Trevor Moore, tells him he should get drunk first, because it will help him last longer. He gets drunk, going through the wrong door and falling down the basement stairs, knocking down a toolbox and it falls on his head, knocking him out. The next scene opens with him waking from a four year coma, only to find out that his girlfriend is now a Playboy bunny. With the annual Playboy Anniversary Bash right around the corner, the two friends must get to the Playboy mansion so Eugene can get his girlfriend back.
The acting from the main characters, and surprisingly enough, Hugh Hefner himself, was decent. I kind of liked the acting. One of the few things I enjoyed, honestly. The script was awful though. This is the worst writing that I've seen from Trevor and Zach, and I was left disappointed. The jokes were very repetitive and some of the most immature things I've seen from them(although Whitest Kids is a very immature show. Anyone who watches can vouch for this.), and most of the acting was mediocre at best.
Basically, I felt this film was terrible, and even if you do watch Whitest Kids U' Know, enter this film with caution, because this is definitely not a proper representation of the talents of Trevor and Zach, and cameos from the others would have been nice, too, actually. I would have loved to see Timmy, Sam, and the others appear at some point or another.
Jumper (2008)
Nothing I Would Watch Multiple Times, But Nothing Terrible...
I give this movie a 7/10. It's nothing that is meant to change the world of movies, and is definitely nothing if you're expecting the most realistic film ever made. This film is good, but is nowhere near as good as the trailers made it look. I thought it would be an amazing film, but I saw it, hoping that it would at least be half decent. I did get one of my wishes out of the two fulfilled.
Hayden Christensen did indeed do a good job in the role, but I have seen better acting. The writing was alright, but nothing great. I have seen better from the stars, and don't expect to see too much worse I suppose, although it could get worse than this was. All in all, I'd give the acting alone a 5, 6, or 7, although I'm not 100% on what I would rate it right this second.
The length wasn't bad for the film, and I didn't find myself trying to remain awake or doing something else, with the attention span that I have. That's saying something. So yeah, it wasn't dull enough to bore me at all, but like I said, could have been better.
I liked it, I'd watch it again, but I wouldn't hurry to get to it, if you know what I mean. I think that a solid 7/10 is a good enough rating to cover this.
Moonwalker (1989)
Very good game from its time, and I still play it.
This game is from Michael Jackson's good years. That's right, the 80's.
The basic plot is to save kids from the notorious Mr. Big. You start out in a 50's club, saving kids from evil gangsters while an instrumental version of Smooth Criminal plays in the background. This level goes on for three stages.
You are then sent out on the streets, with real gang members to fight against. You go through 3 stages of this as well, the third is a nice big parking garage. This is the first appearance of the shooting star that turns Michael into a robot that can fly and shoot at people. On the streets, you get to hear Beat It played.
These levels change, as do the bad guys. You fight Zombies, spiders, and eventually get to face Mr. Big himself.
The last level has you chasing Mr. Big on a spaceship, and while you're chasing him, you pretty much have the game clinched, and it is visually impossible to lose after you have gotten to this level. All that you have to do is take him out.
Overall, I like the game. Sure, it's outdated, but it's the 80's. If you're a big MJ fan and you've played it, tell me what you thought. If you haven't played it, try it.
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Great Movie
This was a really good movie in my personal opinion.
It was scary, yet amusing at the same time. It was one of those movies where one minute you're on the edge of your seat, and the next minute you're laughing really hard. If you like scary thrillers, this could be the movie you've been waiting for. If you like comedies this could also be a good movie for you to see. It all depends on what kind of movies you're into, and what you're looking for in a movie.
But that's just me, you know. So, if you don't think I'm telling you the truth, then go buy the movie or go rent the movie. If you believe me, then go buy or rent the movie if you already have. As I had said earlier, that is just my personal opinion.
