Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)

fantastic one of the best!

I loved it!! i had seen this a while ago and thought it wasn't as good as raiders and crusade, but i watched it again last night and was engrossed! Its a different theme from the Nazis and mythical objects in Foreign countries but its worth watching. Its interesting to see Indy and the crew in a different country and the partnership between all three of them is great better then the partnership in Raiders and Crusade. The film was dark mysterious and devil like and was quite spooky in places such as the scene where Indy and the crew exit the spike chamber and walk into the red tunnel where they hear the chanting of the sacrifice that freaked me out. The tension in this film was heartstopping and gave the feeling of ' whats coming next'. The plot is that Indy has done some diamond deal in Shanghai and a fight breaks out and Indy is pursued in a car and then goes onto a plane which happens to belong to his enemy. The pilots bail out in mid flight leaving Indy Shortie and Willie to die in the crash but no ones going to die with Indy around so they jump out on a raft and sail down a icy slope off a cliff into a river which could be pretty dangerous as they could be crocodiles or anything which could tear a little raft like that to shreds!!. Anyway they reach a village where the villages beg for them to rescue the stones and their children in Pankot palace. They all set off and reach the palace. After a dinner of snakes beetles and eyeball soup they head to their rooms and thats where the adventure starts down a dark dank dingy creepy passage that leads to hell on earth the secret temple of the thugee cults a crazed group of Indians who worship Kali lead by Mola Ram a crazed high priest who perform graphic sacrifices. Indy decides that he will get the stones and is caught along with Willey and Shortie and is tranced to become one of them he soons snaps out and they attempt to escape in a mine car chase to a ledge 100 feet a river filled with crocodiles after freeing the enslaved children, the final showdown is on a rope bridge Indy has no alternative but to cut the bridge sending the Thugees to the crocodiles who are eagerley awaiting feeding time and have an extra treat as Mola Ram ends up for dessert. Indy and the others return the children and the stones to the grateful villagers.

Holiday on the Buses (1973)

A great film!

Amazing would not be enough to describe this film. Its magical and a must for on the buses fans. The scenario is that jack Stan and Blakey are out on their heel after causing an accident ramming the managers car and smashing a bus. We next see them seeking employment and they get a job at a holiday camp in North wales driving bus loads of tourists to and from the railway station sounds simple doesn't it? no it cant possibly be!! it turns out that jack and Stan haven't escaped from Blakey who is the head of security!!! And of course it wouldn't be a on the buses film without olive Arthur and the crew tagging along! and they leap from disaster to the next it ranges from olive walking into the gents getting into bed with the next door holidaymaker blowing up the toilet and having to redecorate the chalet because little Arthur fires paint or some substance on the walls and olive losing her bikini bottom in the pool. There is even a flash of bare breasts. I like this film very much even old man step toe appears doing a very good Irish accent. It makes a change to see the gang somewhere else instead of at home or at the bus depot and Stan and jack still cant leave the women alone!! what i like about this film is the 1970s atmosphere its relaxed and is interesting to see that holiday camps have changed very little today. And of course Jack and Stan and Blakey find themselves seeking employment again! at the end of the film for submerging a bus out at sea trying to get their leg over! and Blakey is sacked for what the manager thinks is the same thing! the film ends with Stan at his new job driving a demolition crane knocking down ( correct me if I'm wrong) what looks like the bus depot? so they would have got the sack anyway? I could go but all I'm going to say i really enjoyed it and its a pity a 4th film wasn't made.

What a soap!. Corrie has got more humorous! Sean in particular!. The story lines are good action. Tracys trial well! what a exit to go out on! being dragged down the steps to the cells by the security guards! she deserved it even though we all love our Tracy what a character! faking an abortion street fighting with Karen getting pregnant with Steve ruining his wedding and of course murdering her boyfreind!. and lying to Roy cropper!. Corrie has exceptional detail and the characters are fantastic Blanche used to annoy me but now i think corrie without her would be like Britain without fish and chips!. A scene in Corrie that is really is interesting is when Tracy is lead to the prison van because its all dark and and its at the court and its the start of a long time away for her.There's an sir of mystery to it. The other story lines in Corrie have been good.From affairs Gay sex to fires revenge Corrie is getting more exciting!. Who started the fire at the Peacocks? who knows but Ashley and Casey certainly are enjoying themselves when that was shown i wanted Claire to catch them but she didn't. Overall Corrie is great!.

A lack of Respect inaccurate and sad.

This is an insult to Sid James. Its not fair that he is being publicised like this. Sid was a great man who gave laughter to Millions of people this is no way to treat Sid. The man is dead. He cannot Defend himself. I wonder what Barbara Windsor thought about this. It is worser in my opinion than Carry on England. I am pretty certain that they didn't have sex during the making of Carry on Girls.Its a load of rubbish. I wonder what Valerie James must have thought about this.I think that whoever thought of this film is sick in the head. There is no proof that Sid and Babs slept together during the making of Girls.And another thing Bernie was not in Henry!!!!. This is a sad pointless documentary type film. Its just wrong Joan Sims even said so herself that Sid and his family should be left alone.0/10

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)

The best Jones film ever!!!

This is great. Its a good exciting storyline. Indiana Jones is off on another mission to get the holy grail. He is joined by his dad Henry Sean Connory on his mission. He is joined by Marcus Broody ( Denholm Elliot) and John Rhy Davis. In Venice they meet Elsa the seductive Blonde who meets her maker at the end of the story. They Fight Nazis and have the time of their lives. My only complaint is when they are in the grail temple that Elsa's death spoils the whole film. The scenario is that the grail lies past 3 challenges and to get it Indiana Jones must have faith in himself. He is forced to get the grail after Henry is shot. When he does and Henry is healed it seems everything has turned out all right until Elsa tries to leg it with the grail. It is not meant to be and Elsa is left hanging over a hole in the ground with her free hand on Indy, However she seems more concerned with reaching the grail which is close but she cannot quite reach,Suddenley she slips and falls screaming to her death into the mist at the bottom of the hole wherever that is. Which leaves viewers pondering over the question what is down there? will she ever be found again?. Where does her body fall?. Anyway as soon as Elsa has done her death scene it is nearly repeated with Indy trying to reach the grail he cant and is forced to give up with his father holding on to him. And the film ends with Indy Sallah Marcus and Henry galloping off into the sunset. Which is a bit strange because a main character has just died. Anyway apart from the ending its a great film. Elsa was also a Nazi. 100/100

Carry on Follow That Camel (1967)

A carry on feast!!!!

Follow that camel is a barrel of laughs from beginning to end. Its a great feast of historical carry on humour.Phil Silvers is fantastic and its a shame it was his only Carry on appearance.Jim Dale and Peter Butterworth are as magical as ever. Hawtrey is funny as is Williams. The sequence with Angela Douglas making her journey and having sex with different people is similar to Emmannuelle. Joan Sims is Slightley wasted as Zig Zag she has little to do. Bernie is having the time of his life as Abdull Abdull.Anita Harris is very good as Corktip. The plot of the story is as follows. Bertram Oliphant West Jim Dale and his valet Simpson Peter Butterworth are off to join the foreign legion. Meanwhile Lady Jane Ponosby Angela Douglas is trying to find them. She is taken by Abdull Abdull to the oasis. And sergeant Knocker Phil silvers and Oliphant are taken as well after being tricked to Corktips house thinking it is their lucky night!!. However they are captured and taken to the oasis. I don't want to spoil too much of the film. There is no Sid James in this film but its still good. Its one of the best Historical Carry ons. 10/10.

Carry on Loving (1970)

Carry on!!!

This is a good film.It is taking a storyline about love and sex but its not bad.Sid is as magical as ever as Sidney Bliss the owner of the wedded Bliss agency with his partner Sophie Plummet( Hattie Jacques).Imogen Hassle makes her only Carry on appearance as Jenny Grub a charming girl under the thumb of old fashioned parents.Terry Scott has his eyes on her and they soon hit it off. Joan Sims is good as Esme Crowfoot one of Sids clients who he has a eye for.Bernie is Gripper a wrestler Esme Crowfoots partner.This is funny but not really Bernie in my opinion.Richard O Callaghan makes his second appearance as Bertram Muffet.Jackie Piper stars as Sally Martin.Kenneth Williams is Percival Snooper an eccentric marriage guidance counsellor. Charles Hawtrey is James Bedsop a spy who Hattie is paying to spy in Sid. This is one of the gangs finest performances its not hard to see why the food fight at the end is classic.Everyone is enjoying themselves. 10/10

Carry on Teacher (1959)

Not bad!!

I saw this film last night and its not bad!!!. The cast are trying and it does show!!!. Kenneth Williams gives a good performance as does Charlie and Kenneth Connor Joan is good as is Hattie and Leslie Philips Rosalind Knight gives a fantastic performance.Larry Dann is good even though he only appears only for a short time.Ted ray gives a great performance as Williams Wakie Wakefield the headmaster.This is definitely one of the best highlights of the first 12 films. This is classic Carry on , there are only a few regulars but they do a cracking job. The trouser ripping scene is hilarious.The gin in the tea is classic comedy.10/10

Carry on Doctor (1967)

The best medical carry on ever!!!.

The gang are all here and they are having a ball!!. Kenneth, Sid , Charles , Hattie, Peter ,Joan Jim, Babs Frankie,Bernie. The Hospital is the Hospital of mayhem as the carry on gang take over!!. Anita Harris makes her second carry on film as Nurse Clark. The story is as follows: Francis Bigger (Frankie Howerd) is giving a lecture in a town hall about not needing Doctors Nurses and medicine. He says " If nothing can happen nothing will". The moment he finishes saying this he falls off the back of the stage and bruises his back!!!. He is then taken into Hospital where the Matron rips his underpants right off!!!. When she does she discovers they have nude women on them!!!. This scene is a classic it still cracks my ribs every time i watch it!!!. Also in the Hospital is Charlie Roper ( Sid James) who there is nothing wrong with!!!. There is Mr Barren (Charles Hawtrey) who is convinced he is pregnant!!!!. There is Ken Biddle ( Bernard Bresslaw) who needs the toilet a lot!!. But he really has his eyes on Mavis Winkle ( Dylis Laye).Also on the ward is Mr Smith ( Peter Butterworth) who has a big lump on his body.A hot new nurse arrives Nurse Sandra May ( Barbara Windsor) who has a love for Kenneth Williams. She bursts into his room demanding he Declere his love for her. Matron catches them and is fuming. Dr Kilmore is a witness. Later on Babs is sunbathing on the roof of the nurses home, Dr Kilmore and Nurse Clark think she is going to jump off the roof. So they run across the road to the nurses home where a dramatic rooftop sequence takes place. Dr Kilmore is disgraced . Nurse May leaves after what has happened. Matron and Tinkle lie about what really happened so Kilmore gets the sack. The patients are outraged and swear revenge at Tinkle and Matron. The patients get their own back in true carry on fashion. They tie up Sister and invade Doctor Tinkle and Matron in the middle of a romantic evening with champagne in his room. They give Tinkle an ice bath and operate on him forcing him to sign, meanwhile Matron has a blanket bath!!!!. In the end everything turns out fine Dr Kilmore returns and has a promotion to senior Doctor while Kenneth is an A&E doctor. Frankie Howerd is discharged at the end of the film he leaves the hospital falls down the steps and ends up straight back in!!. Classic 100/100

Carry on Cabby (1963)

A Fab carry on!!!

A classic. This the carry on to start with. Everyones is giving 100% effort. The cast are all enjoying it. Hattie is great as the nagging wife of Charlie Hawkins ( Sid of course).Charles Hawtrey is having the time of his life. This film lacks Kenneth Williams and Joan Sims but is still a classic.Kenneth Connor is great as Ted. and Liz Frazer is marvellous as Sally . Bill Owen makes an appearance he's great as well!!!. Jim Dale makes his first Carry on film and he is great as the expectant father. Overall 100/100. This is what true carry on is. Peter Rogers and Gerald Thomas made a Fantastic film even after 43 years it still stands out.!!!

Carry on Don't Lose Your Head (1967)

Excellent!!!!

The film is excellent. Sid is great as Sir Rodney Ffing (the Black Fingernail.)As is Jim Dale as Lord Darcy. Kenneth and Peter are fantastic as Bidet and Cammonbert. They are however very like Captain fancy and Jock Strapp in carry on Dick. They end up looking like idiots as in Carry on Dick. The plot of the film is about Sid and Jim trying to stop the Beheadings at the guillotine and make a name called the Black Fingernail.A drawing of a fingernail is left for Bidet and Cammonbert to them to try and catch them but of course they don't.Bidet and Cammonbert try to catch him fail and in the end their heads come off at the guillotine with Sid as the executioner. A classic from beginning to end. Charles Hawtrey is fantastic as the Duc De Pomfritt. The film also includes the late Dany robin as Jacqueline.Sims is great as Desiree Dubarry.10/10

Carry on Up the Jungle (1970)

The whole film is great. Everyone looks happy to be doing it.Frankie Howerd is great as professor Ingio Tinkle. Sid is having a whale of a time. As is Scott, Piper Sims Bresslaw Hawtrey , Connor. The film is a marvel. The set is so convincing it could almost be a real jungle. The plot of the film is as follows: Ingio Tinkle is leading a party of explores through the jungle in search of the rare Oozlum bird. Lady Baggely is joining the group to search for her long lost baby boy, ( Terry Scott). Her servant June ( Jackie Piper) falls in love with her son jungle boy. I don't want to spoil to much of the film if you have not already seen it. Hawtrey is good but doesn't have as much screen time as the others. Kenneth Connor is good as Claude Chumley. Overall Fantastic 10/10.

That's Carry On! (1977)

Could have been better!!!.

Thats Carry on is not bad. But some scenes are poor. The clips are a good tribute. But the clips with Babs and Kenny are rude unfunny sad and embarrassing. The bit at the beginning where they are in the dark is crude. Its not funny you can guess straight away what they are saying means. " Push the knob in,it wont work unless you push the knob in". The whole script is poor. The end is pathetic with Kenny being locked inside the room when he is bursting for the toilet.Overall a poor Carry on.The carry ons where meant to be harmless fun. By 1976 onwards they had become a laughing stock. England was diabolical , Behind wasn't bad, Emmnanuelle was the lowest of all lows and definitely was the end. Colombus wasn't bad but sad. Thats carry on 5/10

Carry on Columbus (1992)

A sad end

This film is poor. The carry on magic is non existent. The remaining carry on regulars have little to do apart from Jim Dale. Cribbins is not bad but better in Jack and Spying. Jack Douglas is poor in this film and looks bored and wishing he was somewhere else. Whitfield and Philips are poor as the king and queen of Spain. Julian Clary is rubbish he cannot act he is unfunny and he is better off acting in the Tweenies!!!. By this time the art of making carry ons was gone. There is no regulars in this film at all. Kenneth Connor was still alive, Joan Sims was still alive Bernard Bresslaw was still alive Frankie Howerd was alive. Patsy Rowlands was still alive. Sid had been dead for 16 years. Hattie Kenny and Charlie has passed on Sadley. Barbara Windsor could have been in this to liven it up a bit. Maureen Lipman is not carry on material. There was no point in casting comedians in place of the original actors they have passed on and they will Sadley missed they where born to act. I heard they where thinking about a new Carry on Carry on London i hope they don't make it it will be sad unfunny and never the same.

Carry on at Your Convenience (1971)

A fantastic film

Carry on at your convenience is about a factory somewhere in London W C Bloggs they are making toilets and they keep having strikes the workers cannot keep their hands off each other and all mayhem breaks out. They go on the annual works outing to Brighton and have a whale of a time. Sidney Plummer ( Sid James) is also betting on horses much to the annoyance of his wife Beatie Plumer ( Hattie Jacques) who seems to sit at home all day in a house badly in need of cleaning up a kitchen with plates up to the rafters and dirty washing. They have a pet budgie called Joe who never says anything and then Suddenley picks winners out of the newspapers for horses that are going to race and Sid quickly makes it rich. Meanwhile Bernie and Kenneth cope are chasing Myrtle Plumber (Jackie Piper) who is going off with Lewis Bloggs( Richard o Callaghan). Sid is after Joan who lives at home with husband Fred ( Bill Maynard.In the end everything turns out fine the gang have a whale of a time in Brighton and enjoy every minute of it of it. Overall this a great if not the best carry on film ever made Bill Maynard has little screen time but he makes up for it in carry on Matron. Sid is just as great as ever. 10/10. This is what the series where all about fun and lots of it!!!.

Carry on Cowboy (1965)

A great carry on

Cowboy is an excellent film everyone is top notch. It is a classic there could not be a better western carry on than this. This is the one to start with. Dale is excellent as Marshall P Knutt, as is Angela Douglas as Annie Oakley. Joan Sims is excellent as Belle Armitage the sizzling western women.Charles is great as Big heap as is Bresslaw as little heap.the film is brilliant, this shows that the producers really put the effort in to it and it does show. Sid of course plays the Rumpo kid the outlaw of the area and makes a brilliant job of it.This is one of the finest carry ons the series ever made. The plot of the story is as follows. Stodge City is a rough town out in the middle of the wild west. It is being terrorised by the Rumpo Kid Sid James Marshall P Knutt is being sent to clear up the town and he is a sanitation engineer i will not spoil too much of the film so carry on watching!!

Carry on Abroad (1972)

A real gem

This film is excellent its a real gem. After 30 years it still shines. The story is about a group of British holiday makers on a cheap package holiday deal to the island of Elsbels Spain. When they get there everything goes wrong that could possibly go wrong. Its a great enjoyable romp. It is Charles Hawtreys final Carry on contribution. The film is the last to include all the regular cast together so is really the end of an era. It is better than the next film Carry on Girls, which is not quite the same. Jimmy Logan makes an appearance in this and carry on Girls. Overall excellent after this the films started to decline Girls was satisfactory Dick was good Behind was not bad, England was a terrible film and emmanuelle was awful. overall this film is great 10/10

Carry on Emmannuelle (1978)

The film is centred on sex. After all it was 1978. The cast look tired. No one shows any interest. There is nude scene by the nurse which is just so not carry on.The acting is terrible its a load of crap. By this time the carry ons where cremated.The carry ons in their hey day where about good clean fun. This film is so bad its embarrassing. I would be ashamed to be part of a film like this. The carry on team made them special. This film is poor sad and crude. Even Joan Sims has a crude sad unfunny name " Mrs dangle". The stories which Butterworth Douglas Sims and Connor tell about sex experiences are sad and embarrassing. Kenneth Williams is poor in his final carry on.The script is chronic.The football stadium scene is terrible it is a bad example to all. All those men Emmanuelle has sex with you would have she could have caught Sexuallly transmitted infection!!. Larry Dann is stalking her as he is in love with her as they had sex on the plane in the toilet at the beginning. Overall a sad poor crude unfunny carry on film avoid this crap!!.

Carry on Screaming! (1966)

Fantastic

This Film is one of the films which has got everything. There is no Sid in this one but Harry H Corbert steps into his shoes with the same name Sidney Bung. The film is great as is Fenella Fielding as Veleria. Kenneth Williams is superb as Dr Watt in one of his best ever carry on roles. Charles and Joan are wasted. Jim Dale and Angela Douglas are very good. Butterworth is excellent as Slobotham. Jon Pertwee makes a carry on appearance as Doctor Fettle. The film remains one of my favourites. Bernard Bresslaw is good but not brilliant as in Cowboy. The locations are top notch, the house of Dr Watt is still there as a private language school. Odd Bodd is very funny when Valeria sees the reconstructed Odd Bodd and thinks that is the real one. "Put some cloths on you filthy beast" classic!!.

Carry on Matron (1972)

Brilliant !!!

This is excellent. The only word to describe this film is excellent.Its a real treat from beginning to end.For those who have not seen this film you haven't lived!!!. Everyone is enjoying themselves in the Finisham maternity hospital. The film has the lot Innudendo gags saucy jokes and all good clean fun!! Sid Bernie Hattie Charlie Kenny Williams and Kenny Connor, Babs as Nurse Susan Ball. Terry Scott Dr Prodd. Joan Sims plays the ever expectant mother. Jacki Piper and Patsy Rowlands are joining in the fun. The film is great along with Doctor the best medical carry on film!!.Patsy has short screen time which is a shame. This was the highlight of the carry on series. A good film for Terry Scott to leave the series from as with Jacki Piper.10/10

A great film. Everyone is showing interest. The gang are really trying hard to make this work and they make a great job of it!!. Sid is in top form as Henry the 8th. Barbara Windor is brilliant , Hawtrey is excellent as is Sims. Connor is good but his screen time is short. Patsy Rowlands is totally wasted which is a shame.Kenneth Williams and Terry Scott are very good. The whole film is great the acting the locations the gags and the plot. Overall the film is brilliant. The nude scenes with Babs is good clean carry on fun it does not spoil the reputation of the film. Unlike carry on England and Behind where the only way to get a cheap laugh was to flash Breasts and Bottoms. And as a result makes them look cheap unfunny crude and sad. This film has the lot 10/10

Carry on Up the Khyber (1968)

Bloody brilliant

This film is brilliant i laugh every time i watch it . The whole thing is amazing Kenneth Williams is amazing as the Khazi of Khalibar a very unusual name! Charles Hawtrey is excellent as private Widdle. Sid is Magicial as usual Joan is excellent in fact the whole cast are excellent. This is the one start with in my opinion if you have never watched a carry on before then watch carry on up the Kyhber you will not be disappointed. Its one of the best carry ons ever made this is what the series was all about. Much better then carry on England. The film is so well done that they can get away with pretending that Wales was India!!.

Carry on Girls (1973)

A good film but not a great carry on

This film is good but not the best carry on. The film lacks Kenneth Williams and Charles Hawtrey, without Kenny and Charles this film just doesn't seem to work. The only reason this film became a success was because Sid and Bernie where i it. If they where not in this film it could be down to the level of Carry on Behind. Hattie Jacques is also missing from this film. With three of the regulars missing this film doesn't meet usual carry on standard. The action takes place at a run down rain sodden resort somewhere down in the south of England a place called Fircombe. The plot of the film is about a beauty contest that is held to try and liven up the town and bring more tourists in. The beauty contest fails and everything goes to pot. The film ends with Sid and Babs driving off on a motorbike. Joan Sims does not have a massive amount of screen time.Peter Butterworth plays the dirty old man of the town funny but not really him. Robin Askwith ( from Bless this house ) makes his only carry on appearance. This marked 25 years of the series but was not a great fitting tribute to 25 years. Overall the film is satisfactory but not a brilliant film. 7/10

Carry on Camping (1969)

A brilliant carry on film

This is the best carry on film along with Dick and Cleo. The gags come thick and fast the acting is just great. The gang are all here and they are enjoying every minute of it. Sid guffaws his way through the film Bernie is just as good as ever. Joan Sims is fantastic as Sids unsuspecting girlfriend. Dylis Laye gives an excellent performance as the carsick Anthea. Kenneth does a good performance as Dr Soaper.Hattie Jacques is Wounderfull at playing Matron which she was well known for. All of the actors are excellent in the film. Charles Hawtrey cracks me up with laughter when i watch the film. As does Terry Scott and his Wife Harriet potter. " Such a splendid girl and so Helpfull do you know shes been showing me how to stick the pole up". Overall a fantastic Carry on film everyone involved shows commitment . A great film 10/10

Bob the Builders more funny!!!

This is the worst carry on film ever made!!. Its so bad its embarrassing. There are Hardley any regulars. The regulars that are there have rubbish parts. Joan Sims is wasted as is Jack Douglas. The whole film is so bad that it has to resort to Nudity to raise a smile among the audience. The carry on films where never about nudity they where good clean fun!. This is taking it too far. The whole film is about trousers being taken off and shoutings and jokes that aren't even funny. The carry on films where now only a shadow of themselves there where only 1-4 regulars the film with Sid in had then become a thing of the past. Its lucky that most of the carry on cast left when they did. A poor film.
