The Last of Us: Long, Long Time (2023)
Season 1, Episode 3

One of the most beautiful self contained episodes of TV I've seen in awhile
30 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
An absolute triumph of an episode. One of the most beautiful self contained episodes of TV I've seen in awhile. The show runners have fleshed out characters from the games in a beautiful way and each episode has gotten better and better. The story stays true to the game in most ways and the ways in which it deviates improve the story immensely.

The strawberry scene, the scene at the piano, Frank's last day are truly heart wrenching. The music, the writing, the cinematography are all top notch this week as well. I was very hesitant going into this show but so far it's been phenomenal and next week can't come soon enough.

I'm fairly certain the only reviewers are angry old dudes

Do you weirdos just type woke on every movie you can find on a 30 year old website? Get a hobby or take your meds. Take 4 seconds and look up why this predator isn't the same as the type in the original and you can avoid your diatribe.

Paper Girls (2022)

Good adaptation

Seems more than a few people don't realize this was a graphic novel that predates Stranger Things and the like. Also, is woke just a catchall for "the main characters aren't white dudes"?

People voting 1 and mentioning The Cause are all you need to know

Grown men need a better hobby than trolling a 1 episode show geared towards a younger demographic. Sorry out of 8000 marvel properties they adapted one that didn't have you as the target demo. It's not "woke" just because the character isn't white ffs. Grow up.

These reviews are hilarious

Not sure I've seen more sensitivity than the users complaining that poking fun at a group that advocates executing members of Congress and told us Trump was working with Robert Mueller to take down Hillary and said JFK Jr was coming back at DjT's running mate is somehow wrong. If you seriously identify with those people you have more issues than a comedy film.

Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021 TV Special)

Dave rehashing the same material
19 October 2021
This really wasn't funny and the people praising it seem to be obsessed more with upsetting people than enjoying the special. I laughed a few times but as a lifelong Dave fan I don't need to hear him bash trans people for the 1000th time. These were funnier when he wasn't a multimillionaire complaining about cancel culture even though he hasn't been cancelled and his shows are worth a mint. It's "old man screams at cloud" level.

Loki (2021–2023)

Loved it
18 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As an avid comic reader from childhood this hit so many heights for me. So many Easter eggs and a unique path to the upcoming multiverse movies. Loki and Sylvie play well off each other and Richard E Grant is a scene stealer. Jonathan Majors was brilliant in the finale as well in the lead up to multiverse of madness.

Side note: if your review is entirely based on thinking a woman beating a man in a superhero fight is "Wokeness" I think you're an immature fragile man child who got their feelings hurt. If you seriously can't see that without blowing your lid you're pathetic. If you love the MCU you'll love this wild ride.

Ironic Reviews
3 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The amount of people complaining about racial issues and politics being in a Marvel property are complete morons. The comics were embroiled in racial and political situations regularly. From the X-Men being an allegory to the civil rights movement to the Tuskegee Experiments being a mirror of the failed Super Soldier tests. Not to mention that it's central to Sam's character development. These reviewers are looking to be mad at anything that includes black people at this point and you can tell most haven't even watched the show. They started getting angry the second any mention of Sam being black came up. The action is great, the pacing is a little off in places but I'm loving the cameos and their commitment to showing almost all the comic iterations of Cap. Seriously, as a white guy, if the show hurt your feelings then I really don't know what would've even caused that reaction. You might be looking for a reason to be upset at a superhero show.
