Valimai (2022)
Maybe it's my fault for having such high expectations
I waited 2.6 years for this movie to be released and went for FDFS. I wanted to give it a 10/10 but that wouldn't be right because it's barely a 7.
The main reasons for this would be the predictable storyline, cliche dialogues and that the movie is practically 50% action scenes. The action scenes took up so much time that there is no room for character development and in the end, you don't feel any emotional connection to any character in the film. You're simply watching to see Ajith. I feel like that is the biggest disappointment.
The director could have done so much more for Valimai. Also I would like to mention that the message that director wants to put out is totally misleading and not right. I shall not say any further as to not spoil it for you.
Cinematography was great, music was great. Actions scenes were superb although it's illogical. Simply for entertainment.
7/10 - Just watch it for Ajith's sake. He's the best.

Giving it a 10 to pull up the ratings
It's not fantastic but it's really not that bad! The storyline is predictable but cinematography, acting, fight scenes and songs were all fireeeeee.
Vikram sir as always was exceptional and managed to convey the emotions so perfectly. Dhruv's addition in 2nd half was SOOOOO GOOD. That guy is so fine, I swear. Everybody acted so well and it was an enjoyable movie to watch despite it being long and predictable.
Not a one-time watch definitely. Good job to the whole production team!
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
If Spiderman is your all-time favourite superhero, this will be your new favourite movie
What can I say? This movie is brilliant. Too brilliant. Fantastic. Clever. Heart-warming. Perfect from the start till the end.
The whole production was brilliant. If Spiderman is your all-time favourite superhero, and if you're a 90s kid, you'll come out of the theatre thinking this is possibly the best movie ever made. Or a Marvel movie, at least.
DON'T SKIP THIS MOVIE. Enjoy. :)
The Deep House (2021)
BEN BEN BEN WHERE ARE YOU BEN
If the title didn't summarise the whole movie enough, let me explain my 3 star rating.
Two wanna-be youtubers, Tina and Ben, goes exploring abandoned houses and one day they decided to explore an abandoned house underwater. An obviously haunted house.
Ben is your typical mannerless idiot while Tina is simply the girlfriend who will support her toxic boyfriend in whatever he wishes to do even when she does not agree with it and is not comfortable doing it. Empty promises and stupid decision makings that got both of them killed. Feels sad for her.
Storyline is nothing new - going into an abandoned house that is surprising preserved where photographs, printed pictures and newspaper cut outs are somehow not dissolved in water at all despite the house being underwater for 30 over years (where's the damn logic?!), these 2 characters touching everything, making rude idiotic remarks, angering the spirits, going into out-of-bounds rooms to see what's inside, getting separated from each other and getting trapped inside the house and trying to find their way out while the spirits starts chasing them while they ran out of oxygen. NOTHING NEW.
Funniest part: When the possessed Ben started showing a PowerPoint presentation of the spirit's family history and short clips compilation of their evil doings. So funny how suddenly they have electricity in the house to play the compilation video from a projector. What a joke.
Best part of the movie is when both of them died.
Giving it a 3 star because I'm sure filming underwater must have been a big challenge and I'll give this solely for the production crew's hard work. For the editors who must have spent hours trying to edit all these into a movie. They must have cried at least once.
It's an interesting idea but definitely could have been better. A one-time watch movie that you will not remember it exists after some time.

WHAT THE FUGSS CAN I SAY?
Too good, just too good!!!!
Could this be the best action/ thriller movie of the year? Probably!
Everything is fantastic, cinematography is fantastic, acting is fantastic, casting, music, background music, lighting, action scenes, editing, comedy, everything! Director and whole production team did really well for this project!
No waste scenes, minimal romance (very subtle) and you with be in full focus throughout the movie.
Not going to say anything more because I don't want to spoil it for you.
Okay last, Silambarasan is soooooo handsome here!
Jiok (2021)
Not so good but definitely not as bad as the ratings
I decided to watch this because it's the number 1 show on Netflix in my country and I saw articles it is the number 1 show globally right now and people are saying that it is as good as Squid Game. One thing's for sure, it is not comparable to Squid Game. Nor is it any better than Kingdom.
I completed all 6 episodes in one sitting. The first 3 episodes were good and I can say for episodes 4 to 6, you'll only be watching it just for the sake of finishing the series. It gets a little slow, they could have cut some scenes out and probably the only motivation is to see whether the baby will eventually die or not. And that last scene in Episode 6 is a total WTF moment that will make you punch your hands because now you'll have to wait for a whole year for season 2 to hopefully know why everything is happening.
Giving it an 8/10 because it did keep me engaged and curious. And it gave me something to reflect on personally regarding religion and the concept of heaven and hell in some other religions. Some people say that this show is mocking Christianity but I don't think so.
Aside from that, I like how this show casted average looking people for most of the characters; even Yoo Ah In and Kim Hyun Joo looked like normal everyday people here, which is not typical of the usual Korean dramas where the main leads and supporting roles are super handsome or super beautiful or hot. The show is much more believable in this sense.
CGI is acceptable, filmography is good and acting was decent. Just don't watch this with high expectations or you'll be disappointed. There's many unanswered questions and hopefully they will address all of them in season 2.
Power Paandi (2017)
Unexpected movie, very good
I was bored so I clicked on this movie randomly on Netflix but I was engaged till the end and cried 6 times in total throughout this movie.
Great movie that reminds me of family values, of first love and especially of parents' sacrifice and love.
A feel good movie that you need to watch.
Jai Bhim (2021)
Possibly the best movie that came out in 2021
A very good film that highlights a very big problem that still exists today. Police (and the government) brutality VS native tribal people who are powerless. I have to say that every character in this film gave a very good performance. It's 165 mins long but there is no waste scenes and I was watching this with full focus.
Everybody should watch this. You can read others' reviews for more.
Free Guy (2021)
Cringe
This movie is a waste of time. Very badly written plot and doesn't make any sense at all. Who the heck cares about how NPC lives their lives (literally who would download a game that is not playable??) and no matter how you try to justify it, the movie/ game/ programming thing and all don't make no sense. If you happen to see this review, you must have clicked on 1 star user rating so please carry on and read the rest of what others reviewed. Skip this movie, watch something else even if you have 2 hours of time to waste.
Theri (2016)
Waste of Time
Simply a waste of time. Predictable storyline, bad songs, unrealistic scenes and no chemistry romance. A waste since this movie had good actors. Amy Jackson's character is the biggest waste. Why was that character even needed???? I'm a fan of thalapathy vijay and this is probably his worst movie.
AlRawabi School for Girls (2021)
Don't let the overall low ratings stop you from watching this series!
This is truly a great series that opens our eyes to everyday problems that girls and women face in a society where they are second to men. From bullying issues to family issues to societal issues. Great character developments for the lead characters and you'll find yourself rooting for them no matter the situation. Great cinematography too.
