We're Not Here to Fuck Spiders (2020)
Different sort of found footage
This is something different to most found footage films, it's not horror more thriller, I guess. Also, it's mostly not handheld camera, because most of it is filmed from cameras that one of the characters has hidden in a drug dealers house. So it has more of a voyeuristic feel. Later that character puts a button camera on his jacket so he can film things that happen outside the house too. You don't know why he's filming at the start, that's part of the mystery of the film, which I liked. You gradually find out more, but only really find out why at the end, which is pretty full on and intense.
Them (2021)
Great show but emotionally draining
This show delivers full on gut punches, so not for the faint hearted. But it's fantastic and very well done. It mixes supernatural horror with the real life horrors African Americans had to endure day in day out before the civil rights movement, and even after, and often still today. Also the history stuff of how the banks exploited powerless people who just wanted to try to get a better life is eye opening. But the show never becomes a lecture at all, it's a really good horror story really effectively told. 8/10.
Creepshow (2019)
Fun show
Fun, short and sharp horror stories, in the spirit of the original movie. Good to watch a few when you don't feel like anything too heavy or commiting to a full ongoing story type series.
