The Bear: The Bear (2023)
Weird ending to an otherwise amazing show
First off I want to say watching the bear has been amln absolute treat for me. After a slow couple first episodes it has taken off and has been one of the best shows I have seen in atleast a few years. But, the walk I fridge part was so bad that it took me right out of the episode.
Any person who has ever worked in a kitchen knows you cannot get locked in a walk in fridge, they all have safety features. Also the fact that a kitchen was able to pump out that much food without the need to grab one item from the walk in fridge is laughable, coming from a kitchen that just ran put of forks. That paired with a need to add a weird methhead side story angle made the end of this messy, oh and of course he mentions the one part out loud about his relationship while his girlfriend is quietly standing outside the walkin listening lol.
Anyways, very solid show, and a good episode, but man did they not stick the landing at all. Oh well, on to season 3!
BoJack Horseman: Thoughts and Prayers (2017)
By far the worst bojack episode to date
Have really been enjoying bojack, surprisingly funny and thoughtful at the same time, this is the first episode I have been compelled to write a review for.
Using the same mass shooting/girls being scared/guys are bad joke just didn't land for me, and was overly political without being funny at all, just seemed forced without the usual clever touch that goes with it.
Also the bojack plot didn't land for me either, no real progression and not really liking the daughter and grandmother subplot, hopefully it's just a short arc, or it picks up and gets funny
As much as I hated this episode, the show in general is amazing and hopefully this was just a miss for them.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Udûn (2022)
Worst writing on modern TV
The writing and directing in this show is just absolutely horrible.
Why would the people leave a fortified place to fight orcs in an open village?
Why does arondir shoot his bow like that?
Why does brownwyn lead the humans when she was just a healer before and human elf relationships are looked down upon?
Why do the people from numenor suddenly love galadriel, what has she done to deserve it and why is she leading after acting like a spoiled teenager the last 5 episodes?
Why make Theo burn his own mother when anyone else could have done it and why does everyone else watch instead of preparing for the orcs that are on their doorstep?
Why does galdriel keep adar alive just for torture when it will clearly turn out to be a bad choice?
Because f you thats why. Such poor writing its insulting
Also the fake suspense building is just horrible directing. For example when arondir has boss battle orc about to stab him I was 100% sure that brownwyn would save him, it made the scene very stupid even before it happened. Also when browywyn got shot with an arrow I was also completely certain she would live. Then yet again when theo gives them the "sword". It was very obvious that the Numenors that were shown galloping 3 minutes before this would somehow find the village just in time to save the characters with plot Armour because Adar for some reason didn't kill them right away This doesn't build suspense, just takes you out of the show even more.
And every little bit of diaogue is so corny it hurts.
"One can not satisfy thirst by drinking sea water" really galadriel? Bad acting and writing merged to birth this monstrosity of a fanfiction character.
I could keep nitpicking but I think I will spend my time watching something that the writers aren't trying to insult my intelligence.
Tune in next week to see how galadriel and friends survive a volcano!
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: Just Jen (2022)
Ok im done
Wow that was BY FAR the worst thing marvel has put out in the MCU. Was holding out for Daredevil, but i think I will call it quits and just youtube the scenes when they are out.
A lawyer comedy show, where the writers clearly dont know anything about law, and the comedy is not funny at all.
I did not know much about shehulk going into this show, and went in open minded, and actually liked the first episode but epsidoes 2-6 have been so bad I feel insulted.
I was very excited for the known cameos in this show, but instead of trying to compliment the rest of the MCU and build the world, they seem to be content making big MCU characters into a bad joke.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: A Shadow of the Past (2022)
The writers must have never experienced winter in real life.
Pretty underwhelming intro, that does nothing to excite or add to the lore, instantly feel like this is going to be galadriel girl power, let's see how it goes...
I giess the elves are wearing some sort of cold proof Armour? If not that and there skin woild be covered in snow and ice. Not only that but where is the cold breath, why is her hair perfect and blonde and not frozen at all after being in cold so harsh that it was putting elves down?
Then galadriel kills a troll while all the other useless elves watch. We get it she's super powerful, while the guy questions everything and is wrong, typical.
The Hobbits were very silly and looked horrible. I'm also for diversity, but having read the books and watched the movies it is just inaccurate and takes me out of the middle earth world.
Elrond looks horrible, weird casting choice, and frost bite galadriel? Really? You couldn't even see your breath in the cold, but you got frostbite? I thought the red rosy cheeks were atleast because of the cold, but nope that's just the makeup for all scenes... Bad writing + directing.
Back to the Hobbits and holy crap they look bad, with the amount of money put into this it is pretty inexcusable.
Back the the elves, some very poor looking costumes, the gold leaf crowns look like something you would find at a thrift store. And of course the men elves are wrong about everything. Elrond is just so bad.
Introduction of the black elf. Only took 1minute for a "you people" quote, really Amazon?
It's crazy Peter Jackson offered to help with this series and was rejected, but it definitely shows in the quality and poor writing. Also the excessie CGI vs the beautiful landscapes of the trilogy is insulting. Don't think I'll be watching another episode of this, sucks seeing such a beautiful world pooped on by Amazon.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: The People vs. Emil Blonsky (2022)
going downhill quick
After a decent first episode, and a very mediocre second episode, we get a realllllly bad third one. IF it wasnt for the cameos it would be a 1/10 but have to give it a 2 for marvel atleast trying to connect things.
Horrible dialogue, writing and just silly choices ontop of the atrocious cgi, sticking in in for now for dareevil but my god I hope they put a bit more effort into it. Would be nice to see marvel stop making every character a joke and be atleast a little serious. Also the way they try to characterize men is pretty atrocious, gender swap this and it wouldnt be allowed to be on tv, just disrecpectful and shitty.
Ms. Marvel: Generation Why (2022)
An insult to the mcu
I have not seen something so poorly written and executed in years. No humour, no stakes, no emotional connection and just horrible directing. Childish and silly even for their demgraphic.
This episode makes iron man 3 look like a good movie and thor 2 look like a masterpiece.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part I (2022)
That was horrible
This is a horrible opening. Had such high hopes for this show. Really hoping it picks up but the writing dialouge and even some visuals just miss the mark here.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
So bad
They really should have just made an inquisitor show or added reva in bad batch instead of highjacking the obiwan show. What a mess. This series had the potential to be so amazing. Why the heck is reva the main bad? Such a poor decision.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part III (2022)
This could be so much better
Lazy writing, horrible directing and forcing in new characters in the era where it is the least needed. Vaders arrival was badass but the fight was forced and pathetic. And really a bit of fire and vader gives up? Bad bad bad..and now obiwan will have to save leia yet again, if she can even catch her lollll.
Moon Knight: The Tomb (2022)
Awesome ending to a very boring episode
After 3 very mediocre episodes I cautiously went into this one void of excitement. I do not feel connected to ant characrers despote isaacs amazing performance and I just dont really care.... A feeling that is very rare for new marvel content. Anyways.... 85% of the episode is a bunch of boring dialogue, and nothing really interesting happens. This is the 4th episode with only 2 left... So something HAD to happen. Well.... To my surprise something very exciting did happen, which has me excited for the first time since episode one. 85% of the episode was 2.5/10, 15% was 9/10. 5/10 total.
Moon Knight: The Friendly Type (2022)
Losing interest quick
If my roomate didnt have disney + and didnt put the next episode on wednesday, this is where I would stop. Just a really mediocre episode to follow up ro mediocre episodes. Oscar Isaac must have a sore back after trying to carry this tv show on his shoulders.
Cheaper by the Dozen (2022)
Wow
I knew it would be bad, I knew I knew I would not enjoy it but wow that was just a horribly made movie. Was baysitting my neice and she wanted to watch it so I turned it on....... Gotta say wow a third time because it was such a lifeless, unfunny movie. Even my niece who is verrrry easily entertained hated it. Common disney.
Moon Knight: The Goldfish Problem (2022)
The CGI Problem
Very interesting first episode. Great acting and fun writing so far. This is easily an 8/10 for me...... But the god awful cgi in this has to lose it a couple points. It was realllllly reallllly bad. Looking forward to the next one either way!
South Park: Back to the Cold War (2022)
Not the best
Weakest south park episode in a while, and imo of all time. Just wasnt funny, and was very weird, but not in a good way.
Cant win them all and hopefully they are back with a better one next week.
Arrow: Blind Spot (2014)
Laurel gets kidnapped yet again
What a surprise. Also the island story line is just starting to get silly. Slade was the only interesting part of the episode by far. Trying to make it to the flash show but its starting to become a chore.
1883: 1883 (2021)
Wow that was bad
Had to turn this off after 5 minutes, the absolute horrible accent by the lady who was apparently on the road while having a cake of makeup on her face and looking like she just got out of a modern luxury spa was just to bad. After seeing that it was very clear they were not putting an ounce of effort into trying to adapt the feel of 1883.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa (2022)
Weakest episode of the Mando/bobba shows.
After an alright first episode and a very solid second episode the show plummeted into the third episode, couple good moments and some visually appealing things, but some very cheap looking CGI and scenes. The chase seen was the worst thing I have probably seen ever in star wars. Oh well can't win them all, I'll tune in next week, expecting something alot better, pretty bad the the weak espisodes are the Rodriguez ones.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Pg carnage
I knew as soon as they announced the pg rating they would be very limited in how bad they could make carnage, as good as he looked visually it just didn't hit home for me. The rest of the movie just seemed to move unnaturally into whatever the plot wanted it to.
Hawkeye: Hide and Seek (2021)
Going the wrong way
Another suuuuuuper mediocre episode that doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Excitement pretty low right now, will probably tune in next week just to stay updated.
Hawkeye: Never Meet Your Heroes (2021)
It was alright
Very alright, pretty much exactly what I was expecting, will keep tuning with minor excitement to see where it goes. Far from home still the last really good Marvel release, guess I will have to wait for spidey to do it again. And hopefully marvel can get back on track.
Loki: For All Time. Always. (2021)
Great finale!
What a way to end this off with a bang. Definitely the best marvel content we have seen in awhile!
Loki: The Nexus Event (2021)
Picking back up!
Better than episode three but just not feeling it like the first two episodes.
Loki just does not seem loki like at all. The weird romance just seems akward due to the fact they are basically the same person.
Some good scenes forsure. Owen Wilson was great! Hope we see more Mobius. The fight scene at the end was horrible and the timekeepers voices were very hard to understand.
Them being androids was an alright twist, didn't really hit home but figure it is leading up to something.
High hopes for next weeks episode!
Loki: Lamentis (2021)
Disappointing
First two episodes were amazing, but dragging out a filler episode only distracts us and tanks or interest from last episodes cliff hanger by trying to leave another one. Not really digging lady loki as she does just not seem very "loki" like to me. The acting and dialogue were very mediocre. Half the time they were running from the falling meteors, the other half they just didnt care? The humor was very stale aswell.
Just seemed weird to go to some random side quest with 0 relevance after setting us up with a very intriguing story, and tanking interest a good cliffhanger, with a much less intriguing one. Hopefully we get back to the real stuff next week.
WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)
What a bad ending to an awesome show
So much left unexplained, and the fact they didn't bring in a certain actor because he is a white male, despite it making the series make more sense is a pretty big miss.
