Journeyman (2007)
Won't Be Missed
So Journeyman is gone...
Is anyone really surprised? After all, it was yet another tasteless concoction brought to us by Alex Graves, the awful director who brought to us the nausea-inducing The Nine last year...
Apparently, NBC thinks everything no its air should either be a bad reality show or some sort of remake (as long as it's a lot worse than the original!) So they made a bad copy of Quantum Leap and put it on the air.
Not that I'm against making a copy of Quantum Leap. It's a great concept that could be made interesting again.
I'm against a BAD copy of Quantum Leap.
And apparently, so was the audience.
But don't worry for Alex Graves... After two strikes at bat with The Nine and Journeyman (both canceled after less than 13 episodes!) he will direct the new J.J. Abrams bad script next year.
More hours of bad TV to look forward to...
Chuck (2007)
An Empty Shell of a Show
I was trying to figure out the best way to describe Chuck, and this is what came to me.
It's not really a show. It's the shell of a show. It has all the attributes of a show, but it really has nothing.
It tries desperately to generate laughs, and it doesn't. It tries to generate excitement and it generates yawns.
The fact that it is so empty is not exactly a surprise as it is the brainchild of Josh Schwartz and McG, two of Hollywood's most vacuous "creators".
Those two men have never produced anything of note, and they've struck out again. The mystery is why NBC keeps on ordering shows from talentless people like them.
The Eye (2008)
Jessica Alba Kills Another Movie Dead
Jessica Alba's complete lack of acting skills is pretty obvious to everyone, except apparently movie producers.
Maybe it's because they're blinded by the countless photographs she takes in various conditions of undress.
Regardless, here again she gives yet another frightfully bad performance. So bad that you can't really even call it a performance.
Jessica Alba was born to be a bikini model and that's exactly what she should do. She shouldn't act, but if she really feels she must, she could at least take some acting lessons.
The Eye will die, like all Alba movies, because of her complete lack of talent and skill.
