Stand Up Guys (2012)
8/10
Yeah!! definitely better than bacon and eggs
18 January 2013
This as good as it gets in the real sense, everything perfect, three great actors the mainstay of this movie, no words to describe anyone of them, Julianna Margulies a good actress herself looks wooden in comparison, though it would be unfair.

Whatever little violence there is has been underplayed to highlight the human aspect, heartwarming, not lacking in its comic moments, in fact it have everything, crime, drama, friendship, love, etc., etc., The movie has a warmth about it, well told story, superb acting and apt music for the film , one would wish they were a part of it, for a change Walken is sane, Pacino proves again he can be good at anything, you can't help but love Arkin in the cameo, I am a fan from his "wait until dark" days.

I did not expect any fireworks, I watched it for the cast, and I was not disappointed, an inferior cast may have not stood up to the challenge.

Overdone a little with the empty deserted streets, but the characters more than make up for any flaws A must watch movie, I give this 8/10 Al Pacino, Christopher Walken & Alan Arkin = A NEAR MASTERPIECE

Warning Spoiler Alert

Warning: Spoilers
The Story recalled my memory of the 2000 Harrison Ford (Amir Khan), Michelle Pfeiffer (Rani Mukerjee), Miranda Otto (Kareena Kapoor), movie "What Lies Beneath", the story & rest of the characters are completely different, therefore it can be and most certainly argued that its just a coincidence, What Lies Beneath left a lasting impression on my mind hence half way through I knew what this was all about, you can enjoy this movie even if you watched "What Lies Beneath",Amir and Rani are no match for the acting of Ford and Pfeiffer, the are not used to their full potential, Kareena does very well and impresses, nevertheless I say it a good movie, worth "a" watch, I'd give it a 5/10.

Don (I) (2006)
4/10
A Waste of time
17 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Remakes seem to be an unfazing fad in Bollywood. We aren't simply talking transatlantic translations here, more so updating Indian classics, and DON "was" a classic!!

Shah Rukh Khan plays (believe it or not) an underworld don, in pursuit of whom is a Senior Officer . But things go wrong and he's murdered... The police now have to maintain his cover, so they find an identical street bloke Vijay (Shah Rukh again) and recruit him into the force. The Senior Officer trains him in all aspects of the law, and he soon finds himself undercover in the same gang as his predecessor.

His job is to bring down the gang and arrest or kill all its members. This plan is put in jeopardy, when his only child is kidnapped by a rival gang, and his senior officer is killed. When his own cover is compromised, life gets slightly complicated...

Kareena Kapoor Dance number is as good as Helen's but again Priyanka is no match for Zeenat Aman.

A lot of twists and turns (which are predictable)

A complete waste of time, SRK is no match for Big B this remake is nowhere near the class of the earlier "DON" in spite of the modern techniques of film making !!

Watch this if you have nothing else to do.
