Family Guy: The Candidate (2022)
Another week, a decent family guy
This is currently Family Guy's 400th episode and honestly it isn't as big compared to the other 100 episode milestone episodes. With Stewie and Doug butting heads again. I can never really get behind Doug, though thankfully it's his last appearance.
However the episodes first half doesn't even have a plot, it doesn't really relate to the actual episode. Peter, Joe, Cleveland and Quagmire on a scooter. Where it kind of just loosely gets back to the real character of the episode, Stewie. Though the thing is they manage to introduce a new idea to keep it fresh. It doesn't really change anything in the end, but again Family guy mostly keeps things to one episode.
The shows strongest element is jokes, one nice thing about the episode's jokes is that it makes callbacks to older jokes/gags not seen since before family guy was even in HD, and still has time to joke about the Cleveland show. Otherwise the jokes here are pretty decent, making me laugh a bit more than normal season 21 which is still pretty good.
This is all in all another good episode. Good jokes, pacing is good. Hell even the first half with no real relation to the plot is still decently funny. I won't say it's memorable, but it's still worth the time spent.
Family Guy: Get Stewie (2022)
Disappointing, A First For The Season
This episode was not good in the least , and I've been seeing that this season was pretty good and at the most these episodes were just okay.
But this is the first one I'd put on the level of an episode from the last 2 seasons. The plot is the biggest offender though, both plots feel recycled from episodes before.
The Stewie plot is decently similar to the Season 16 episode The D in Apartment 23 though not as good and there's nothing long term here, but Peter's plot is literally just the season 2 episode 'He's Too Sexy For His Fat' almost identical ideas.
Peter wants to help out Chris
Peter gets the fat sucked out of him
Peter neglects his prior goal of helping Chris
Peter loses his fat and in the end apologizes to his son.
At this point I feel like there aren't that many ideas left, shocking considering this is the 400th episode and for these milestones there's usually a really big or decently grandiose episode, something unique at least. Though no, this just feels like another random episode.
Another thing is the episode isn't funny, so far throughout season 21 I've laughed at least a couple of times. This time however I only laughed one time at the end.
I feel like the last 2 episodes or the first and second episodes of the season could've made for better 400th episodes.
Family Guy: Unzipped Code (2022)
Solid episode
This episode was pretty good, one thing to note is that it has no B plot with it focusing mainly on Cleveland and Peter. Which is nice that Cleveland gets that time of the month. Still a bit off that Brian and Stewie don't even appear. These newer episode I've noticed also have a drop in cutaway's. Which sucks, but thankfully most of the jokes in this episode are solid. I got a couple laughs but it's probably the weakest episode of the season so far. Cleveland getting himself in the goofiest way possible was probably the best part. After that I think the episode wasn't as funny. Not much to say, but I think season 21 is progressing along nicely.
Family Guy: A Wife-Changing Experience (2022)
Pretty good but not as good as the last 2
This episode was interesting. Though it's plot is repetitive as we've seen this same formula of Lois not feeling appreciated by Peter, so she pleasures others, in this one it feels less like Lois is an ass due to it giving more time to them both showing each other lashing out. Also it's better that they play it less straight and make more jokes.
The second plot is whatever and genuinely feels like needless padding.
The episode gets really quick to the plot and it isn't just a couple minutes of padding which season 21 has entirely avoided. The jokes weren't as funny compared to last episode or the one before it but still pretty solid. The narration at the end was probably the peak of the episode.
Family Guy: Bend or Blockbuster (2022)
Very entertaining episode
This episode genuinely made me laugh a couple times, not a forced laugh but like genuinely laughed out loud at some of the jokes. Like how it was back in the first couple of seasons. The plot is pretty solid and I like how, unlike in many family guy episodes these past couple of seasons. Is that the plot doesn't take long to get going. This episode also for once doesn't have the family consistently fighting, insulting meg, or etc. They feel a lot more functional here. Making every character a lot more likeable. The episode is one I would not mind watching again, really it blends perfectly with like a season 7 or season 8 episode. I have not felt this way about a family guy episode for a long time.
Family Guy: Must Love Dogs (2021)
Pretty good but odd advertising.
This episode was just the usual, funny entertaining moments. I like both plots though the Stewie candy subplot could use a bit of work but the main plot follows Quagmire finding love but the girl he loves adores dogs and he doesn't have one (and hates dogs) so he asks Brian who he has been mean to and bullying for years. I find it entertaining that Brian takes advantage of Quagmire situation considering how even though Quagmire despises Brian. He will still ask him for help and I think Brian and Quagmire balance each other out. One thing I want to mention though is the advertising. On fox they advertised this as a Halloween episode like the Simpsons, Great North and Bobs Burgers episodes aired today but the half taking place during Halloween night takes up only like 3 minutes of the episode. But still a pretty good episode and I think season 20 is off to a fine start.
Family Guy: German Guy (2011)
10
Honestly Seth topped himself with the fight between German guy and Mr Herbert.
Family Guy: Excellence in Broadcasting (2010)
Pretty good
Nice watch, many jokes landed for me, I liked the callback to the episode with lumpar lebrushnov in it and the plot was interesting enough for me to not yawn. Pretty good episode worth watching. Best part was totally the musical.
Family Guy: Boy's Best Friend (2021)
Pretty good
Didn't expect much from this episode since it's from season 19 but it is actually really good, the jokes are funny a good chunk of the time and the 2 plots are pretty interesting.
Family Guy: Quagmire's Dad (2010)
