King wrote GOLD and Abrams turned it into jagged-rust!

Warning: Spoilers
Oh wow... oh wow. Where to begin.

First thing's first. If you haven't seen this series and have not read the book... PLEASE do not even watch the series. Go directly to the book, or better yet, pull up Audible.com and listen to Craig Wasson's narration of it. It's a beautiful masterpiece with a wonderful love story, and one of the only books that made me cry at the end.

NOW... on to this crap of a mini-series. And mind you of course there's (((SPOILERS))).

The series is NOTHING like the book other than the basic premise that a man goes back in time to save JFK. THAT'S IT! For some reason the writers, who clearly never even read the book, took the vast majority of King's brilliance and trashed it for their own ignorant narration. To begin, the whole beginning where Al reveals to Jake the rabbit hole for the first time. The series COMPLETELY brushed over that. And on top of that, the diner was empty with NO one other than Jake and Al. That's what made it so mysterious. In the series, Al is a healthy guy pouring Jake a cup of coffee, and he's gonna decide right THEN to go back in time and save Kennedy??? With Jake and his ex sitting in one of the booths?? Also, in the book, the rabbit hole came out in September of 1958, NOT 1960! Where did the two years go?? AND the rabbit hole in the book came out behind a drying shed, out of the view of anyone in sight. In the series, Jake just steps into the pantry and falls to the ground in an open area with HUNDREDS of background actors walking around. Are you telling me NO one is going to notice him appear out of nowhere and accidentally slip into the rabbit hole themselves? And what on EARTH was the deal at the end with Jake going back through the rabbit hole one last time and him seeing SADIE in MAINE in a soda shop??? WHAT IN THE NAME OF ALL HOLY HELL.

I'm done. I'm done with this. I'm not even going to go any further cause I could write a novel as long as King's as still not point out all the things they RUINED. WHY WHY WHY must these writers insist on taking what's a masterpiece and destroying it for the same of destroying it!!!!
