The Great Gatsby (2013)
Horrible acting, boring play
My expectations were high, because I enjoyed the one with Robert Redford very much. What a disappointment this version was! It had the sphere of a (very boring) stage play instead of a movie. There was no chemistry between all the famous actors. All were overacting in a forced way. Famous names are no guarantee for a good movie. So bad credits for the director.
Robert Redford was a mysterious rich guy. That whole movie was mysterious and captivating. Unlike this version.
I advise everyone to see the older version. It might be outdated though, because I have not seen it for years. But worth the try I guess.
Two and a Half Men (2003)
The show with Charlie Sheen gets a 10, the show with Ashton Kutcher gets a 1
The chemistry between Charlie (Sheen), Jon Cryer (Alan) and the young Angus T. Jones (Jake) is magical. Especially when Jake was the age of the elementary school he was fabulous. What a talented young boy! Also all the girlfriends of Charlie and Alan were hilarious.
They feel like a real family. And it looks like they are really having fun with each other. Holland Taylor (Evelyn) and Conchata Ferrell (Berta) also did a great job. Then Ashton Kutcher came in. He spoiled everything with his awful bad acting. The chemistry between everybody vanished immediately. It looked like the cast did not enjoy it anymore. So we stopped seeing the show. Tried though.
Sanditon (2019)
Fantastic, romantic, thrilling, addicting, I need a season 3!
It is fantastic and romantic. It gives me the feeling that I'm actually there instead of just watching it. The unhappy ending of both season 1 and 2 made me feel miserable. So that is a huge compliment for the actors. The storyline about the bad people gives it a thrilling influence. The chemistry between the lovers (to be) is fantastic. The leading male and female actors are irrestible..
Tehran (2020)
Season 1 was good, season 2 fantastic
What a great story, good acting, never a dull moment. Also great that it shows that on all sides are good and bad people. So all sides got my sympathy. At times it was also emotional.
See (2019)
Blindness makes no sense for the story
The story is fine, but the blindness makes no sense. It does not make the series more thrilling. It makes it even slower than necessary and even less interesting. The acting is fine though.
Honey (2003)
Best hiphop dance movie ever.
The best in music, choreography, dance moves, sphere. It is a party all the time. Even #MeToo is a topic here. The Step Up movies are not even close to the quality of this movie.
The Passion of the Christ (2004)
Disgrace to the story and disrespectful to Caviezel.
Mel Gibson abuses the story of Jesus just to make a movie full of extreme detailed violence all the time. Ofcourse Jesus suffered psychically and mentally, but in this movie only the violence details mattered, just to score with sensation, not the story. Also Gibson is not a passionate moviemaker, but a disrespectful one. He did not even take precautions to make sure nobody was harmed physically. Jim Caviezel endured very serious injuries! Caviezel is not only acting good, but he is also a real fighter and hero to cope with all the serious injuries while filming. He should have sued Gibson for being such an extreme irresponsible and selfish producer.
Picture Perfect Mysteries (2019)
Actors are too much concentrated on the cameras instead of their acting
It is very annoying to see actors only concentrate on the cameras instead of their quality of acting. It gave me the impression that only their looks are important. It could not fascinate me at all.
Sister Boniface Mysteries (2022)
Very bad acting, except by Jerry Iwu
My opinion is that this is a very boring crime serie. Probably because of the very bad acting, even very annoying. The only interesting character is Felix Livingstone played by Jerry Iwu. He acts very natural and very good. He stands out from the acting crew.
Too bad, I was hoping for the level of Father Brown and Grandchester.
Black (2015)
Good people being punished for trying becoming a better person
Very sad story showing how good people living in a criminal environment cannot escape their bad lives. Friend and enemy are preventing them from escaping the criminal and cruel lives. They even get punished for trying. The movie shows how loyalty is forced upon people living in that environment.
What makes it so sad is that the situation in this movie is realistic and happening for real.
The acting from the two lead actors - Marwan and Mavela - is absolutely fantastic and very natural.
Furia (2021)
Fantastic serie, speed is high for a Svandinavian tv serie.
Everything is great. The story, the acting, the credibility, the speed. Loved that they sticked to the original country languages of where the scenes were taking place. And the culprits were sometimes surprising.
Chapelwaite (2021)
Thrilling, but also at times annoying
The story is very mysterious in the beginning. Then thrilling. Good acting. One thing that really bothered me was the almost constant whispering instead of talking of Charles Boone, the main character. The end was ok, not surprising.
Mile 22 (2018)
Bad acting, getting on my nerves
Too bad the acting was very poor. Usually I like movies with Mark Wahlberg. The fighting scenes were worth watching. Especially when Lauren Cohen and Iko Uwais were involved. The constant and stressed chattering - especially from Mark Wahlberg - was really getting on my nerves, too much and too fake. The end was surprising though.
Svartsjön (2016)
Season 1 was very good. After episode 3 we skipped season 2.
Right from the start season 1 was very mysterious and scary. Not always logical, but very exciting nevertheless. I loved the enchanting winter scenery. Season 1 gets a rate from me of 8.
Season 2 was very boring. Also the sect / commune was very annoying. After 3 episodes it still did not capture our attention, so we skipped the rest. Season 2 gets a rate from me of 2.
The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)
Great names, but terrible acting.
The story intrigued me, that is why I decided to watch the movie. I also saw the names of the famous actors, but they all acted terrible in my opinion. Too fake. But maybe that was normal in that time. After all this movie was taken more than 20 years ago.
ZeroZeroZero (2019)
Fantastic acting, credible and tense situations
Every episode is tense and credible. I loved the different languages, belonging to the location at that moment. That makes everything more authentic. The acting was fantastic. Only reason I don't rate with a 10, is because at times it was too unclear.
Life (2017)
Not a renewing story, but very scaring sometimes
The storyline is not renewing at all. Still the movie was very scaring at some moments. The end was foreseeable, but impressive. Acting was good. The special effects were also good.
The Accident (2019)
Great acting, good story
Touching and realistic acting. Got even tears in my eyes sometimes. The characters are convincing as normal people going through much drama. Good story too. Watched all 4 episodes in one day.
