The Good Guys (2010)
10/10
Amazing action filled with laughter?
28 June 2010
Finally a cop show I can sink my teeth into!!! Bradley Whitford has finally found his niche.. again! After the West Wing I thought it was over for Brad, but as Detective Dan Stark it's pure comedy gold. Conlin Hanks is genius as the by the books Detective Jack Bailey. This show is great for those who enjoy simple plot lines and witty comedy. Be prepared to have to follow the time jumps but it's worth it! The writing on this show is truly amazing, though I am afraid the premise will get old quickly. I would recommend this show for older views! If you don't enjoy humor such as the Princess Bride then you probably won't enjoy the comedy found in this show. I've been trying to find a great show to watch during the summer and finally it's here! You'll fall in love with The Good Guys! Let's go bust some punks!

The Reaping (2007)
10/10
What Hath Stephen Hopkins Wrought?
23 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
What would you do if your town's river turned to blood? If your livestock suddenly turned ill and died? What would any of us do? The Film the Reaping portrays a small bible belt town caught up in what they are convinced to be the ten plagues. Blaming on a little girl they travel to LSU to bring back the ex Christian missionary Katherine Winter (Swank). Swank plays a character bent on destroying the credibility of all "mircaulous" occurrences. She takes pride in having investigated over 42 occurrences and found 42 scientific explanations for all of them.

When she is finally brought down to the town called "Haven" with her partner Ben (Elba) she is horrified to discover there is no explanation for what is going on. The town as begun to blame a 12 year old girl by the name of Loren McConnell (Robb) and are bent on having her killed to save the town.

Little does Swank know that this is all to do with a deep secret the town has been hiding. The town made completely up of members of a Satan Sect are bent on bringing about the "perfect child" made in the eyes of Satan. By sacrificing there second born they feel that Satan will finally blessed them.

As the plagues begin to descend on the town faster and faster it becomes more alarming to all the residents due mainly to the fact that they are all the first born. Slowly throughout the film as more and more is revealed you become more and more engrossed in the film.

Though the films action and drama is way above even the more "grown up" teenagers, I strongly recommend parental discretion upon letting your child see this film as it follows suit with great film makers such as M. Night Shalyman.

Be prepared, The ending of this film will shock you as it prepares for the sequel to this amazing piece of film work. I strongly recommend to anyone that you see this film. I in fact viewed the film twice in theaters. The acting is superb will the action, though somewhat gory at times still maintains a sense of tact for those more squeamish viewers. For those of you that are religious this film does not make a mockery of that which you hold dear. In fact it stay true to the story of moses and the ten biblical plagues. For those of you going to just see a decent picture, fear not, this film's religious views are rather subdued and in fact must outwardly be searched for. You will not be bible thumped during this film unlike other religiously based films that have been released in the past few years.

Please take the time to see this film. You will not regret it.
