Warriors of Future (2022)

CGI for Hong Kong comes a long way.

The storyline is simple, nothing confusing and out of the box. Just chill and enjoy the movies without thinking too much on the storyline. The CGI in the movies has already reach a standard comparable with US movie, consider that it is a Kong Kong company that makes the CGI. The acting is average for some actor. (e.g when you are in war, why the actor faces are still clean and shinny). It is not a perfect storyline, with loophole and some does not make any sense, but good effort put into this movie hearing that it took years to make. Nevertheless, I did enjoyed the movie for their action & CGI, the explosion and the fights.

The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition (2021–2023)

The excitement and heat are there but...

Not a bad concept of Apprentice which happens in Singapore. The show has lack of project implementation, is just discussion > pitch > boardroom. Would like to see how putting the presentation into real life implementation.

Army of Thieves (2021)

Zombies and Robbery..

Not the usual CIA focus on cat and mouse game, you do not need to find Easter eggs. It is less violent or less detailed planned heist with safe cracking. Consider this movie very entertaining.

The Cure (I) (2020)

Full of action with mild plot

It is an enjoyable ride if you are into action, explosion, fighting, gun fight...

The plot is simple, someone found a cure, bad guy takes it, u get it back. Here comes all the fights, fighter planes, car chase and crashes...

The CGI done not too bad, but it is still recognizable that it is CGI.

Sound effect quite good, the gun sounds, crash sound, slow motion shounds...

Anyway, still fun to watch.

Searching (III) (2018)

Unique storytelling

This is not a typical type of movie. It delivers the story by using in a format of technology (smartphone, PC, Mac). Something new and refresh. And it comes with an unexpected twist.

For entertainment, this may worth it.

Though the drama did not potentially show the technical aspects of how EMS/Fire works yet (just a very brief walk-through), but it is entertaining enough to get you hook. For the first time, it shows the link between the operator, the police department, fire department and the ambulance works together for, not one, but three cases in one episode. Hope to see more shows like this coming up. If you are into looking for a show like "House MD", "the good doctor", then this show is not for you.

The Good Doctor (2017–2024)

It is not a regular medical drama

The show talks about a doctor who is highly intelligent, but he is socially impaired.

The drama is filled with realism medical abbreviations and surgical procedures, and how a mentally disabled doctor, who are incompetent for social interaction and is being labelled by his team, works in a highly stressful environment in a hospital.

The drama highlighted the things a mentally disable person can do and he is willing to try harder than anyone else to learn.

It is not just a purely medical drama, it delivers a never-give-up message to those who see the drama, focus us not to look down people who are mentally disable.

Ransom (2017–2019)

Totally is about negotiation, dramatically

Though the way they presented themselves will most likely not happen in real life, the drama is about Eric and his team who work for a private negotiation company. For those who like "Flashpoint" - a Canadian police drama television series that debuted on July 11, 2008 on CTV, it is similar to that drama without the police and the gunfights.

Not a totally bad drama, but could be better. At times, you could feel the adrenaline go through. I like this overall, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Kidnapper (2010)

Nice Budget movie

A good film that is worth watching. Although this is not a movie with Hollywood-style action pack, but the storyline may worth giving it a try. However, there is a few loop holes in the plot.

Actors performance are not bad. I would like to say this movie is not a bad one in view of the budget they have for production. But don't have a high expectation.

In the end of the movie, they did not conclude the consequence of what (lee) did, like should he be jailed or fine even though he is alive. The polices in the movie did not seems to help enough though.

The police should get suspicious when (lee) plan to make a police report and yet leaving the scene immediately with that worry expression whiteout completing the report after receiving a call from the kidnapper.

Lastly, why did the kidnapper hit the van towards the hostage after receiving the money and caused himself injury and eventually death. I always though the kidnapper will escape when driving off the taxi

Flashpoint (2008–2012)

Nice negotiator show but not enough action

As a drama series, i don't expect to have a lot of actions in the show. Indeed, there isn't. However, some nice negotiation technique can be learnt from here. Anyway, i like it.

How nice if this show can be put into more action...

This show always starts with a boring conversation with the Police strategic response unit, then a introduction with the main problem maker... Then somehow, he or she will take a hostage, threaten to kill. Here comes the police, take the presadue and try to clam the person down. If not, they will shoot to kill. The end...

However, if you are a person that goes more on bombing, explosion, fighting, i am sure this is not the series you are looking for.
