Descent Into Hell (1986)

Claude Brasseur is an older writer who is suffering from serious writer's block because his young beautiful wife (Sophie Marceau) is ignoring him. In Haiti on vacation, he goes on a bender, convinced that his wife is not going to change, and she, in turn, decides to have some fun with another man. While in a drunken stupor one evening, Alan accidentally kills a mugger who attacks him and is seen by a devious couple who opt for making some money on what they know. As a blackmail scheme takes shape, it has an interesting effect on Alan and Lola's relationship......Viewing quality is Good.....NTSC VHS released in French Canada...........Jacket is French.......Dialogue is French Language with No English Subtitles.....Running Time is 1 Hour 28 Minutes......Have never seen a better quality version in our 15 years of driving around Quebec and New Brunswick looking for old French movies

We located this movie in Montreal in 1994 in French with NO English subtitles......This was an NTSC VHS released in Quebec probably in the 1970's.....WRITTEN & DIRECTED BY JOE SARNO....Quebec French Title is not KARLA........The Running Time that we have located is 1 Hour 13 Minutes...CAST includes.....Susan Thomas.....Betty Whitman......and Danielle Leman as Karla.....Karla opens by the pool of the sprawling Florida house shared by Jackie Windsor and Lorna Tanner. During the opening conversation we find that Jackie is a child psychologist and Lorna a successful writer. As Lorna prepares to keep a mysterious appointment, Jackie questions her about her destination and is put off with a vague answer, which heightens her curiosity.

The next scene finds Lorna in the darkened living room of Karla Herrick's house. A maid escorts her in and leaves her standing alone in the dimly lit room. Suddenly two naked girls spring on her from the darkness, throw her to the floor and undress her. When she is completely stripped the two girls begin to kiss and arouse her until she is moaning with pleasure. At this point a man enters, also naked, and mounts Lorna as the two girls hold her down and continue their caresses.

Karla, owner of the house, stands near the scene, smiling with satisfaction .......No English version has been sighted in Quebec.......Have never seen a better quality version in our 15 years of driving around Quebec and New Brunswick looking for old French movies..........We do not buy films on the internet so not sure what was released on European format.......

The Swimming Pool (1969)

We can only buy the NTSC VHS released in French Canada in 1970's.......Alain Delon plays a French writer having an affair with Romy Schneider, a successful journalist. At a swimming pool in St. Tropez......a record executive (Maurice Ronet) arrives with his nubile young daughter (Jane Birkin). Harry and Marianne were once lovers and he makes a pass at her. Meanwhile, Jean-Paul makes a pass at Harry's daughter. After some drinking, Harry and Jean-Paul fight, resulting in Harry being pushed into the pool and drowns......the young couple tries to get their stories straight in order to avoid being charged with murder in this sometimes masochistic feature from France.....French Language Jacket and the version we find in Quebec is French Language with No English Subtitles.....Running Time is 2 Hours 03 Minutes.....We no longer buy ex-rentals because most have been tampered with......

My Lover, My Son (1970)

We located this movie in Montreal in 1994 in French with NO English subtitles......This was an NTSC VHS released in Quebec probably in the 1970's.....The Running Time that we have located is 1 Hour 33 Minutes...No English version has been sighted in Quebec.......Have never seen a better quality version in our 15 years of driving around Quebec and New Brunswick looking for old French movies..........We do not buy films on the internet so not sure what was released on European format......May still be available as an ex-rental but we stopped buying ex-rentals in 2002.....Most have been opened and the original tape replaced with 3rd and 4th generation copies.....It is a god film and a little controversial because of the theme......some of the big auction sites have banned films about incest......Most of the Romy Schneider films we have found in Quebec are in French with no subtitles.....

Sevillanas (1992)

We found this film in a small French store in Quebec......It is not easy to locate and this is the only version we have found in 9 years of shopping.......CARLOS SAURA directed SEVILLANAS in 1992........It is a Flamenco Classic Film .........This version of Sevillanas" consists of eleven short performances by Spain's most famous flamenco dancers, singers and guitarists. Saura, well- known for his flamenco films ("Blood Wedding," "Carmen" which we also have located), here provides an in-depth look at the Sevillanas form of flamenco and its dancers.......especially the duet with Manolo Sanlúcar and Paco de Lucía.......The version we found is 53 Minutes and is well worth viewing....

I Am a Hotel (1983 TV Movie)

We located this film in a small video store in French Canada......It seems to have been videotaped for Toronto Television.........LEONARD COHEN in this 1984 Music Film....... I'M A HOTEL English........Leonard Cohen performs 5 of his songs on this rare award winning video filmed at the legendary King Edward Hotel in Toronto in 1984..Taken together they tell a story of love lost and love regained.. Leonard haunts the halls of the hotel, monitoring the loves and lives of its patrons and keepers, while he reminisces about his own tortured past....Some wonderful dance performances.......The version we found is only 25 Minutes long but is well worth watching..........

We located this 1970 Film BORSALINO, English Version with No Subtitles in a small video store in French Canada.......It is not easy to find anymore and most of the old ex-rentals have been tampered with...........Borsalino features Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo as charismatic gangsters in 1930s Marseilles who join forces when they meet brawling over a woman.. with fixed horse races and fights, they start to find themselves doing jobs for the local gangster bosses. When they decide to go into the business for themselves, their easy-going approach to crime starts to change........Inspired by Eugene Saccomano's novel The Bandits of Marseilles. ...The version we have is 2 Hours 5 Minutes long and is the most complete we have been able to find....We have never been able to locate a French Version in 9 years of looking........BQA Films

We located this film on NTSC VHS in French Canada....it is quite controversial because of Eva Ionesco and is very hard to find these days....Mimsy Farmer as a 25 year old prostitute......Pascal Sellier has his first romantic experiences and is teased by his friends... .....At 25, Helena (Mimsy Farmer) is "middle-aged" for a prostitute. When young Julien's callow friends try to pick her up (not knowing that she is a prostitute), she allows Julien (Pascal Sellier) to win her favors......Occasional nudity and sexual situations..........Eva Ionesco has a classic appearance ......the version we have is 1 Hour and 35 Minutes long and is in French with no English subtitles.
