Mending the Line (2022)

A More True Story Than Most Know

As someone who works in this space, we're thrilled to see this story being told the right way. It was important to see their attention to detail regarding both the military/ veteran space as well as fly fishing. Props to the entire team.

The cinematography was incredible whether it was Montana or on the battle field. Definitely a tough watch for some, but it's the reality. Heavy drinking, frustrations with the VA, loss of identity and purpose.

It's the tough reality the world needs to see to appreciate what our soldiers deal with when they return home. It's not pretty. We need more honest films like this.

Antlers (2021)

Love the director, but this is bad

Never viewed this as a horror film. There's almost no story. You've got a deranged home and a recovering alcoholic teacher trying to help.

Very little dialogue, no character development.

This one is just bad.

The Nightingale (I) (2018)

Brutal with Lots of Social Commentary

This is a film you don't want to watch late at night. Couldn't fall asleep. Not because of the excessive violence and rape, but trying to wrap my head around it.

I didn't view this film as trying to be historically factual at all, but using the time period and violence to allow viewers to take away their own thoughts about society today. Definitely open to interpretation. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but there are strong gender/ racial themes that were hard to ignore.

The acting is phenomenal, dialogue is moving, story is simple. Not a bunch of twists and turns, which felt intentional.

Really enjoyed it. Pleasant surprise.

The Batman (2022)

Extremely Boring

Enjoy a movie with no plot and terrible acting. The worst Batman movie in decades. To follow the last trilogy is trough, but damn this is bad. No story, bad actors and just plain boring. Tried to watch, made it through 30 minutes.
