How It Ends (2018)

Watched again, still love it!

I absolutely love this movie and since they haven't made a second one yet, I had to rewatch it! I truly don't understand the bad reviews. I THRIVE on the suspense of it all and the main character progression throughout the movie was satisfying.. he turned into a straight up baddy towards the end! That being said, the ending does drive me a bit mad but in a good way. I want a sequel SO bad! I highly recommend everyone give this movie a chance! I would rated this movie a 9/10 for me personally but giving it a 10/10 because the haters in the reviews. Just watch it, get some popcorn, and enjoy the ride!

I actually went to the movies to see this because I couldn't wait for their to stream. I love all the actors but the movie is TERRIBLE. How DARE they list this as HORROR ORRR COMEDY. It was NEITHER! I literally laughed at nothing. I asked myself wtf a good handful and contemplated getting up to leave. If I didn't pay 20 bucks to see this movie I would have.

Now for the ending...... ARE YOU SERIOUS? Who wrote this and thought "yeah let's roast them like s'mores in the end!"

My jaw is literally on the floor. How does this have 7 stars?? It is NOT a 7 nor will ever be once this gets released to stream. Guarantee it!

What ever you do... DO NOT RENT OR PAY TO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Sharp Objects (2018)

HOLY HELL

WOW. Just WOW. This series absolutely blew my ever loving mind!! My jaw is still being collected from the floor as I type this. The ending clips have me gasping for air! WHAT! Sheeeessshhh!!!! I'm losing it over here! I cannot even believe it is possible to add so much fckery in an 8 episodes series but by god y'all proved this gal wrong! The acting was SUPERB. Like scary, dark, good. SHEESH. I still haven't been able to process what I just watched but needless to say I binged this whole series in an evening because I just could not STOP. Kind of like Adora.... *cough*cough* (pun intended). If you need something to watch this is it. Effing GOLD. Dark, scary gold but GOLD nonetheless! 10/10. Nothing like this out there!!!

Jexi (2019)

Cheesy

This was all over a cheese movie but when you just need the cheese it definitely curved the appetito! I've always been a fan of Adam Levine but having Wanda Sykes and Michael Peña in this too definitely made it extra special! Haha I don't think this would be as good as it was without them. Wandas one liners cracked me up good in this movie- I've missed her! Also seeing Peña in this movie when I just saw him in Moonfall I was pleasantly humored by his ability to switch from serious rolls to a humor roll.

It's nice that there was also a decent lesson behind the movie too.

Overall I enjoyed it! I would recommend but only when you're in the mood for an easy going funny movie!

The Bear (2022– )

YALL IM DEAD. I could not stop laughing at the Xanax scene at the kids birthday party. The kids sprawled out crashed on the ground was HILARIOUS! LOL! This show is quickly becoming a favorite! I'm just sad that the season is going to fly by! The episodes are short which I don't mind with this type of show but I really hope they drop like at least 15 episodes next season. I'm so excited to see Jeremy staring in this show and so far it seems to be a perfect fit. Truly. And the cast! Amazing. It's got a little bit of everything so far which is exactly what I was looking for.. some drama, comedy, but a solid plot and cast... CHEFS KISS! Pun intended. I'm digging all of it : )

Paper Girls (2022)

I love this show so much!!! There is so much potential to grow and yet Amazon yanked it without giving it a chance. Truly for all the sci-fi lovers!! I was super excited to see not only female representation but also with three different races AND an lgbtq story. UGH. Which hurts so much when I heard that Amazon cut the show. This is seriously the life of a women. Never giving us a freaking chance! Truly believe this show is so good and has only scratched the surface. This isn't just for teenage girls. Im 32 and I love it. I really really hope someone picks it up and shoots more season. I'm gonna be extra hurt about this one if they don't :( still worth the watch even if they don't renew. I binged the whole thing!

The Bachelors (2017)

Bittersweet

I really enjoyed this movie a lot more than I was expecting to. This film is about grief, overcoming it, and the bonds formed during stages of healing. Though this has been done before, it really pulled at my heartstrings. Also, the acting was suburb!!! I was very impressed with the cast and their ability to not only connect us to the story but to connect with each other. They blended so nicely together. I don't think anyone could ask for a better cast.

This film is very bittersweet but heartwarming all at the same time. I think just about anyone can relate to the story as it is something we have or will all go through. Give it a go!

Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)

Huge Disappointment

The book itself is a beautiful masterpiece delving into the depths of an isolate girl who taught herself to survive abandonment in the desolate marsh land she was left upon. She learned how life and people can be cruel but managed to form the strongest bond with nature and allowed it to nurture her to build a life for herself with it. She also formed strong bonds with Jumpin and Tate but sadly, this adaptation missed the mark on all three. I have never been more disappointed in an adaptation. I understand that in a movie you have to remove and sum up parts of the book for the film but it's like they rushed to tell each chapter but leaving out some of the most impactful take aways from the book. I'm so so so disappointed with the character selections and the acting was nothing up to snuff for this amazing novel! I haven't even finished it yet and know this is truly unacceptable. Seriously, this needs to be redone. Such a shame. Just read the book. Heck. Skip this altogether and just read the book. You'll be doing yourself the biggest favor!!!

Monster (2022– )

Heartbreaking Series

This series was truly eye opening on the ache the families and the victims endured. If anything, I appreciate this series for sharing the stories of the victims like Tony. It is not often the victims are remembered but the monster that plagued them. For the first time I truly felt so much anger and heartbreak over the victims and their loved ones and never once was comfortable in watching this series. No one should be. Knowing a little bit more about the victims gave me some acceptance this series even exists. I can't ever imagine how the families of the lives lost must feel about this. If anything, I got to learn at least a little bit about who the victims were and it will be hard to forget them after this.

Lou (I) (2022)

Worth the watch!

I really enjoyed this film! It has a little splash of everything. Drama, action, suspense, mystery, redemption, and of course a decent plot! It's a A+ B movie. Definitely worthy of a watch! I love Allison and how well she played this role considering it's not the type of role she would typically play from what I have seen but it was all pretty good. It skimmed the surface of the characters but in a way that you knew all you needed to know for the characters to play the part they did. Ending was a bit predictable but who doesn't like a good tied up ending. Makes up for all the other terrible endings we've seen floating about. Haha give it go on a low key night!

Women (2021)

Ending ruined it

Wow. What a let down. I really enjoyed it until the end. They just abruptly ended it in one minute with no nothing left to even ponder. It was weird. Heck they could have even had the same ending and looped in one final scene with the girl and what happened to her. It's truly like they just gave up or ran out of money. I could have shot the ending with an iPhone and sent it to you guys. Cmon lol. Could have been a lot better but really that ended just ruined it. Didn't make much sense at all so whatever they were going for..... it was a big swing and miss. All plot no ending. Better luck next time!

Uncle Frank (2020)

Powerful!

This movie is so powerful and raw. One of the best films I've seen in awhile. You could feel every emotion that came through and no one could have played every single role better than those that did. Also I'd like to give special attention to Sophia's narrated role in this movie as Beth - she was the glue in this movie and she's just so uniquely beautiful inside and out it made it that much more sentimental and she was the perfect cast for her role Phenomenal job!!!!

But ALSO Paul and Peter casted as Frank and Wally.... AMAZING. They really connected to their characters and the emotion that came through were raw and real. I was very humbled by their performances. It really allowed me to connect to the characters and gave me a healthy reminder on the stigma around our LGBTQ+ communities from then and now! It's such a difficult and sometimes heartbreaking experience for some people especially with family and having films like this that really sig down to the roots are needed!!

Just outstanding!

Highly recommend to everyone.... just don't the tissues!!

Odd Thomas (2013)

8 years and still waiting for more

This is one of my favorite movies and truly don't understand why there hasn't been more than one movie. So disappointing as it is SO good. Perfect amount of suspense, action, and well developed characters. I'm still holding out for either a remake or another movie. Please make another one!!!!

To be honest, I just turned this on as a passer by watch and it turned out being absolutely phenomenal! I haven't seen a movie like this in... maybe forever. This movie really makes you think about the choices we make and if you just don't give up on yourself you're going to be okay and end up where you are meant to be for YOU. I love that it still gives you alter endings as much as I sort of hated it haha but hey... it turned out great either way. Highly recommend!

Lucy (I) (2014)

Don't listen to the low hater raters!

I have been thinking about this movie ALL day after watching it yesterday. The concept is freaking AMAZING. I almost didn't watch it based on some reviews that said there were plot holes and that's just not true. Whilst this concept could have been expanded into either a series or two movies, I'm still very very satisfied with this movie! The point was taken and by golly I'm shook haha even if the "science is off" I think it's worth mentioning that things change. So yes, watch it : )

Also the ending, to me, was mind boggling satisfaction. I encourage everyone to watch it!

The Martian (2015)

AMARZING!

Loved every second of this movie! Can't believe I am just now watching it but hands down one of my highest ranked movies. Idk why people hate on Matt Damon, he is always amazing in his roles and he nailed this one! The splashes of humor and his sentimental lift off were perfect. I think The Martian has just the right amount of fun, fear, jokes, worry, action, story, and surprise interlaced in this film. Don't miss out on it!

Amanda Knox (2016)

Fame hungry journalist and fabricating detective

My first gut reaction is that they didn't catch the real killer or killers. The detective was smug and played into some fantasy he created in his head based upon all those movies he used to watch and the journalist only wanted fame. VERY OBVIOUS. As far as Amanda goes- I just don't see it. And the fact that both her and the bf went on to help people defend their own stories should say a lot! This is far from the Kasey Anthony case and I can't reiterate enough that everything but Guerdes prints was circumstantial. What a sht show if you ask me but this documentary was well worth the watch! It interviewed all people unbiased and the truth came out by their smugness. Just because someone doesn't act devistated doesn't mean their guilty- they barely knew each other and I've had roommates like this. The one fact that blew me away is the cops lied about her having HIV- I mean that should really tell you something. They were painting her a specific way from the very beginning. Even when you journalist mentioned "she could have hair and makeup on but I guess you don't get that in jail". I mean wow. Boched af. Overall interesting case and well worth the watch! Everyone has their own opinion but that should be based on circumstantial evidence.

Bleh. This was just weird and boring. If there were any direction to this movie then it might have been worth the watch but there was literally NO point to this movie. I just don't understand why this was even made? Just skip it.

Ava's Possessions (2015)

Not bad!

This movie is not a comedy but I liked it! This put a less scary twist on possession with a different take on the story line! It would of been cool if there was a little more to the effects but for a B class movie - not bad! I would put this in the casual viewing category for myself but definitely a good choice to add to your watchlist. Giving a 6 for thinking outside the box and watch worthy~

Mother! (2017)

It's like being awake in your own nightmare

Honestly, I'm mad this movie took two hours of my life when I could have simply went to sleep and had a 10 second dream that would of been it's equivalent. Truly wish I would have just skipped over this movie.

Even if there is some twisted perspective to pull from this, by the end it is just too mentally taxing and not worth it. Just go read some religious argument on tiktok and you could get more perspective there in less than 1 minute. Truly hated this.

Doctor Sleep (2019)

I really hope there is a sequel because this was amazing!! I don't know why it took me so long to watch it and I was worried that it may lull with 2+ hours of screen time but it truly felt not long enough. I loved it! Bravo!! Not much more than to say sit back and enjoy the ride : )

The Fallout (2021)

Heartbreaking.

This movie was so devastating to watch after all the heartbreaking truths that come from mass shootings in the United States. It truly makes my heart crumble. This is not a plot movie so if that's what you're looking for then you will not understand the true purpose of this movie. It takes you through stages of grief in a way that is simply unexplainable. "I never knew how much 6 minutes and one man with a gun would change my life".... And still changing it as the ending depicts. Definitely worth the watch and I recommend doing so when you are prepared and ready to see and hear a story derived from the perspective of a teenager (child) going through what most adults have never had to go through. Bring a side of tissues!

"The most annoying horror film you'll ever see"

I honestly laugh at how terrible this movie is. It's not even over and I just have a big grin on my face. Like, is this for real? LOL it's a hard cold no for me. Not even good enough to have on in the background. The only thing that could have made it any better was murdering the dude with the glasses first. He started it after all and he's annoying.

The Domestics (2018)

What a ride!

Hell yes! I loved it! It's pretty action packed that just dives right in and takes you on a ride! I friggin love the spin of end of the world gangs. Very different concept and it totally works! Not much to the plot but it's more of a destination movie that wraps up with a character development I.e badass chick at the end. I highly recommend as a leisure watch for sure! Definitely worth it.

Mud (2012)

People just like Matthew not the movie

It was an okay film but rating any higher than a 6? I mean cmon let's be honest. Y'all just like you some Mc and not the movie. Guarantee if MC or Reese wasn't in the film it wouldn't have more than 5 stars. I'm sorry but I just can't play that game. The script could have been way better. The acting was good I guess but Mc and Reese need to chase better roles. I probably stopped it 15 times because I wanted to do other things... a 7 star film does not do that. So, I don't know, dealers choice I guess!
