X-Men '97 (2024)
Astonishingly x-traordinary!
I was unsure given the Disney curse lately if the show would live up to the original, however this is the best show on streaming right now. Writing is incredible. From story to dialogue you can tell they had the best working on this show and know the history of the characters. The emotion, the character development and story arc so far superior to the live action shows. Animation is incredible with visuals that are jaw dropping at times. I have loved these characters for years. I am invested in seeing where the rest of the season will take us. More of this Marvel. Don't let the Disney curse hold you back.
Lopez vs. Lopez (2022)
Libsplaining and Latino/Latina stereotypes, bad mix.
Hate the premise that just continues the stereotype of the drunk Latino. (Comes back into his daughter's life after 10 years due to boozing only to continue boozing?) The libsplaining makes the daughter and partner unlikable. George's friend is a druggie. Lots of bad language. There are funny moments. The grandson is pretty funny and has great comedic timing. The ex wife is good too although more of a Latina caricature at times. The guest cast in one of the episodes brings back most of the George Lopez show back which was a great touch and made for a good episode. Maybe it will get better but not looking good.
Good Trouble (2019)
Perpetuates stereotypes
Perpetuates the false narrative of blanket white privilege and all people of color/ women oppressed agendas. Other than that it's a mediocre soap opera. I don't understand why some are unable to consider the fact that many everyone every race has their affluent and poor. Many have overcome their humble beginnings without it holding them back and stifling their growth as a human. Be kind to each other. Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Walker (2021)
Skip
I am forced to watch this because my wife likes it. Horrible acting, terrible stories. Just watched episode 13 there are so many bad decisions, who in real life would make them?
Servant (2019)
I have no idea what I just watched! Spoilers ahead
It seemed intriguing at first and then all these twists that made no sense. Was the baby alive did they get a replacement baby? What was the significance of the cult? Wasted my time
