Caillou: Big Brother Caillou (2000)
I wish I could give this episode a 0, but I can't, so it's a 1.
I wish I could give this episode a 0, but I was forced to rate it a 1 according to IMDB's rating base. I'll explain why.
To start things off, Caillou met Rosie for the very first time as a newborn. He constantly whines because he became jealous of the attention she recieved. But out of nowhere, he PINCHED his newborn sister in the face, crying in pain!!!! I mean, who would want to see babies crying for so long, even in pain? No one!!! To make matters worse, his parents had the AUDACITY to take her away and not punish him; no wonder why he gets away scot-free every single time!!!
It gets even worse. This episode is based on the original book, where Caillou gets even more violent and BITES her!!! Who in the right mind would want to bite an infant?
And the worst part is that this episode didn't teach any moral lessons, self-reliance, or problem solving. It's just 5 minutes of Caillou whining and being violent in one scene, while his selfish parents never discipline him.
I'm not surprised this episode actually got BANNED in several countries because of one particular scene, and no I'm not joking.
Overall, This is THE worst Caillou episode I've ever seen, and parents who've seen the show can agree as well. This episode and the whole show itself is an example of why Caillou is such an unapologetic, selfish, toxic, and a whiny spoiled brat! Even the parents are bad too!
Caillou (1997)
If you let your child watch this show, you WILL REGRET it. Trust me.
Caillou is honestly one of the worst, if not THE worst children's show ever made. In fact, I used to watch this all the time as a young child and I wished I never saw it. To show you why it's the worst, I'll explain.
First of all, Caillou's parents never discipline him and enable his behavior to happen all the time! No wonder why he gets away scot-free!
Second of all, the show was poorly animated, has the same narrator for each season, and the plot (having to do with throwing tantrums and whining) is nearly identical in each episode!
Third, this show made no attempt to educate children. There's no math problems, spelling lessons, or morality, it's just the same concept that's used in every episode.
Last but not least, and probably the worst reason out of all, is Caillou himself. In fact, there was one episode where he throws an intense temper tantrum just because he couldn't go to the circus, which is not until tomorrow. All he had to do is wait 24 hours, but no, he whined about not going at all! There's also another where he pinched his sister Rosie when she was a newborn for absolute no reason! These episodes also caused my younger brother to imitate him every single day! Thankfully, it's now a thing of the past as I talked him out of watching the show again.
Unless you want your kid to act up and become out of control for whatever reason, have them watch Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger, Bluey, or Arthur.
