Mischka (2002)

A bit odd
24 June 2023
The film's named Mischka, but the character with the nickname is just one of equally important characters.

At one moment (about halfway through) it seemed like all the characters were a bit mad. But they sorted themselves out afterwords.

So, basically, there's a group of unwanted, unloved people who accidentally got together and became friends for a while.

A cameo role of Johnny Hallyday as himself.

The other reviewers really didn't like the film. It wasn't the case with me. I was recovering from illness at that point, had a lot of time on my hands, patience as well, and I was intrigued by it. Liked it, to some extent.

Bloody ell

I guess most of the reviewers were young americans, and that explains it. They're clueless as usual. The series is just fine, except the mandalorian and luke bits. This is another story set in the starwars universe, and it's sufficient. Save the two episodes. A fanbase following will materialise sooner or later.

All against one

Warning: Spoilers
The series is the best one I've seen in quite a while. But this episode I don't fully understand. Why it's so horrible what Mathias had done? Gabriel and Andrea wanted to leave the agency, mainly because of Hicham. When Mathias found a way to get rid of him, they are all appalled. I don't get it.

still the best

While the show is weaker than the TG, it's still the most entertaining car show anywhere.

This is on pair or better than the TG shows. And I am the first one to say the GT was nowhere near the TG. Enjoy!

Not good, but not so extremely bad
19 April 2020
It's like a theater piece, maybe actually it is, and it's trying to be something like 'His Girl Friday'. But it's not even remotely comparable. On the other hand, it doesn't deserve 1 star rating, like in some other reviews. It has it's moments. But only moments.

Unpre...
5 August 2019
...dictable. That's just what I've wanted to say. It's not a thriller, but after a time one starts to care about the characters. And it's never easy to tell what is going to happen next, or if it's going to end happily or not. An extreme contrast to the current films.

Good & interesting
19 July 2019
It starts unusually and grips your attention. Overall a good film, without many mistakes. The one I can remember is the scene of the first battle, where lot of Indians are just standing around, like waiting, and doing nothing. Not much else.

Quite all right

It's interesting and funny. Not in the American way. Only the last episode, I didn't like some parts of it, e.g. the pissing part.

the best in years
19 December 2018
It is incredible how even in the 3rd season, when almost every show is starting to falter, this series is still fresh, interesting and new. Furthermore, some of the best episodes are in the season 3. Some characters, like David, really make sense, and actually DO exist, as in real life. And that happens rarely in the majority of US shows and films. Only in the European or Asian films. The Canadian origin could be the reason. Acting, direction... are almost too god for a tv show.

Ok :)
19 August 2018
I truly enjoyed the film. And I thought it's the one of the great sci-fi movies, only for those who are a bit more intelligent. And then I saw this. 4.5 ratings, and the bunch of 1 star ratings. I don't understand it. I noticed the film is a little slower at times, but so what? Kurosawa said the moviegoers had been spoiled with the action films, but those films were not really the cinema. I think I like quality films, of good directors, and I liked this one. It's not among the actual best films in any category, but it's ok. All the tech gadgets seemed logical enough. And above all, the story reflects and depicts the battles inside man's soul.

A children's movie
24 July 2018
Come on, it's obviously made only for children. That's highly obvious. So complaining about it seems a little bit ... Nevertheless, the base is ok, but with just a little more effort they could have made it more believable. In just few points. Not more than that, and the film would've been just all right.

Modigliani (2004)

An introspection
30 November 2007
It is a moderately good film. Fine photography. The actor that played Picasso was not good enough, so all your attention and sympathy go to Modigliani. And Andy Garcia was wonderful here. If you like his face - you'll probably like the movie. He's very convincing.

I like the moment when Picasso and Modigliani imitated one another in the car. And it's a funny scene when Picasso put his hand on the gun in a café, only because Modigliani was a little crazy.

I don't like the scenes where they painted for the competition, cause the scenes were too modern, too part of our time and not of Picasso's time, and the scene in which Modigliani died and Jeanne cried - it's not convincing enough.

The actress that played Jeanne resembles very much the girl in his paintings.
