Make Mine Music (1946)
Disney gives wolves a bad name.
I never watched this movie at all but the only part I seen was the Peter and The Wolf Segment mostly because we had to watch it in music class at school. Based on the song by Sergi Prokofiev and set in vintage Russia this entire segment and song I feel like is the reason why Wolves are getting more driven towards extinction. As they play a vital part in the ecosystem and they are heavily criticized due to their historical background from being in fairytales. Yet everyone turns the blind eye and continues hunting them. When they should realize that if wolves become extinct the entire ecosystem and environment will go out of control and there will be massive overpopulation of other animals that could ruin the environment. For Disney to do this is inexcusable. They should have used a different short instead. This has nothing on Fantasia it's just a cash grab that was made so the studio could make some profit for the time period it came out.
Pinkfong and Baby Shark's Space Adventure (2019)
Complete and utter trash.
More nonsense from a stupid pink fox why dies this fox exist? From a stupid song that should have never existed and lame characters with no redeeming qualities about them this is one of the reasons why wholesome things don't exist anymore. It's better to not acknowledge these characters and the trash they bring us. It's better to listen to wholesome stuff like Mr. Rogers and more importantly read a quality book. Cause shows like this should never exist cause in the ned no one will ever achieve great things from this show and the people who keep making this garbage should rethink their choices and do better than producing trash only to satisfy the lowest common denominator.
Pinkfong Wonderstar (2019)
Why we can't have anything wholesome anymore.
Words cannot express how low children's shows have become. It's bad enough for a pointless song that has no educational value to be viewed billions of times but to have a show about a pink colored fox that wears a crown that swims with sharks is an abysmal sign. Honestly I doubt this show has any value to anyone and I bet it's isn't even educational or worth watching.
Shows like Little Bear are far better than shows of this nature. Besides pink colored foxes shouldn't even happen it's proof that shows today have no creativity or value to them. I thank my lucky stars that this show doesn't air here on TV but I pitty everyone else who has to put up with shows of this level.
All I can say is don't watch it unless you want your sanity to be tested to the extreme.
Mary Poppins Returns (2018)
No Julie Andrews and Disney just spoon feeding us again
Mary Poppins Returns the sequel that shouldn't have happened but unfortunately it did. Like these Live Action Remakes aren't good enough for them they decided let's give them a sequel over 50 after the original movie. From CG animation trying to pass its self off as hand drawn animation is ridiculous. A lot of this movie is contrived trash that doesn't work. Unnecessary cameos a boring villain unmemorable songs "Lovely London Sky" wow that was disappointing to a tee. I would have thought Julie Andrews to come back and at least have a cameo appearance in this. It didn't have to be a big one but at least something. Nope we don't get Julie Andrews instead we get Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, the guy that gave us Paddington Bear, and Molly Wesley. We're much better off with the 1964 Mary Poppins which is the legendary masterpiece this is a pointless cash grabbing movie made not to be memorable but made to keep 6 year olds quiet for 2 hours. Made not to be fun and thought provoking but shallow and boring.
The Jungle Book (2016)
I dire insult of the last animated movie Walt Disney did.
The original 1967 Jungle Book is really legendary and one in my top 5 favorite animated Disney movies of all time with one being Mary Poppins and two being Fantasia. The 1967 Jungle Book goes in 4. Too bad I never grew up watching the original cartoon movie as I grew up with its cut rate 2003 sequel don't get me started on that. This film is abhorrent on every level taking the original Walt Disney classic and making it dark and gritty doesn't make for a good film. I don't care if the CG animation looks to life like it doesn't add any sentiments to the film. Most of the acting in this is wooden and doesn't feel genuine except for a few lines. Jon Favereau is a prominent film maker and Chef is my favorite film he made but he doesn't hit the mark with this film. The score by John Debney wasn't the greatest either I would have preferred a score by John Williams or Jerry Goldsmith. The things that are bad in this movie is Baloo being a stick in the mud to Mowgli a few times. Like forcing him to get honey and providing him with protection but then for him to say "I DON'T WANT YOU ANYMORE" that's not what the 1967 Jungle Book gave us so why do it here? I could practically see Walt Disney rolling in his grave with lines like this. The worst thing that I absolutely loathed about this movie is Shere Kahn literally MURDERED A WOLF AND ITS SHOWN ON SCREEN! OMG! I literally almost walked out of the Theaters after seeing that. Why Disney? It's films like this are the reason why Wolves are getting wiped off the face of earth and are being pushed to extinction. You already this this in Make Mine Music 1946 with the stupid Peter and the Wolf segment which is garbage I don't care if it was done in hand drawn animation stop doing this. The only satisfaction I got was when Shere Kahn died in the film he fell from the tree and burned up. That's when I said Mmmmm Burnt Cat. Overall this movie is dark gritty way too gripping and it's an inferior remake of the 1967 classic the last animated film Walt Disney had involvement in.
Little Bear (1995)
Forget Baby Shark this is the show every child needs to see
You're not going to find much more wholesome and kid friendly entertainment like this. This show based on the legendary books by Else Holmelund Minarik and illustrated by the renowned Maurice Sendak is one of a kind. It's a show that resonates with everyone from its gentle storytelling to stellar animation it's quality that you won't find anymore. It feels like an old Disney cartoon that never goes out of style. It's however disappointing that this show doesn't air on TV anymore instead all have is Bubble Guppies, Team Umizomi, Baby Shark, and too many other shows that are nonsensical. This show is like Mister Rogers Neighborhood gentle, wholesome, one of a kind and always pleasant to watch.
The Little Bear Movie (2000)
The movie every child should watch.
It might not be Disney at all but this film feels like Disney. The Little Bear Movie is a beautifully animated and perfectly balanced film with good old fashioned storytelling at its finest. Every part of this film glows with beauty. From the background paintings to the animation everything about this movie shows the pinnacle of hand drawn animation. It's animated just like a 50s Disney film and everything feels genuine. Even the voice casting is excellent with Kristin Fairlie providing the perfect voice for the main character to all the other voice actors who do a fantastic job of acting. Warmly written it's an endearing story and a perfect film that can be watched year round. From the Flapjack scene to Pudding Hill to a wolf howling and the sounds of nature The Little Bear Movie is truely one of a kind film and is the perfect piece of heaven from an animated movie.
A Charlie Brown Valentine (2002)
A perennial masterpiece
If only they could air this on TV more often leading up to Valentine's Day. This early 2000s Peanuts special really holds a special place in me. With it's hilarious writing, cleaver jokes and just pure wholesome family friendly entertainment it's a special that I endear watching every year. Charlie Brown tries desperately to get a valentines card but to no avail. Either getting sidetracked with Marci and Peppermint Patty trying to go out with Charlie Brown or others coming to his aid. Such as Linus beating up a bully with his favorite blanket after the bully with annoying the little red haired girl. Or trying to return a pencil only for Lucy to return said pencil after the little red haired girl dropped it. Or even Sally wants to fall for Linus but gets rejected every time since she always calls him a sweet baboo. Even parts like Lucy asking Snoopy to come up with a good Valentine's Day card but every entry he gives her she just gets increasingly frustrated with it. (Dear angle food cake with seven minute frosting LOL). (You are breath and bread and water to me h aid and Chocolate chip cookies GOOD GRIEF). Thats amazing right there. That's the kind of stuff thats hilarious and just watching makes the peanuts very enjoyable. The story itself is kind of loose but warm-hearted at the same time. The animation is really stunning reflecting the classic Peanuts style and feel. The moment this special starts you feel like it was done in the 70s and the style that made Peanuts iconic.
The Great Wolf Pack: A Call to Adventure (2022)
Not good at all especially the animation and designs.
If you're looking for a good wholesome animated movie you're not going to find it here. This movie is straight up living proof of how to never do animation. Six Point Harness and all the other animation studios brought in for this! Yeah right it feels like it was animated and drawn by a bunch of 4 year olds. Clocking in at 47 minutes this movie is a straight up joke. The live action remake of Pinocchio was actually better than this in my opinion. First of all the character designs are really awful they made Wiley and Violet look like bad cereal mascots instead of the actual characters of Greatwolflodge. Seeing them arguing and Wiley flopping around like fish wasn't amusing. I can't believe they made a wolf look so bad that the legs as thin as sticks and not what a wolf leg is supposed to be. Brandon Winckler was okay to be Wiley the Wolf his voice is relatively elegant except the made him a stick in the mud a bunch of times. I can't believe Wiley acted like a whinny and spoiled kid rather than a mature teenager was an utter disgrace for this film. Jim Cummings would have been much better. Or the great Tom Kenny would have been a good voice for Wiley the Wolf. Probably what Brandon Winckler didn't capture was Wiley's howl it was the most unconvincing howl I heard it sound like a wolf pup instead of a teenaged wolf. I literally thought Wiley the Wolf looks like if you take Wile E. Coyote and mix him with the Cookie Crisp Husky.
Now Maya Tuttle was okay for Violet the Wolf but I have to nitpick in Greatwolflodge Violet was known to be generous to all and just a down to earth friend to everyone here making Violet a Tomboy and a perfectionist, now where entering Brave territory with Queen Elinor as she was a perfectionist in that film. The worst thing they did was the voice of Sammy the Squirrel. Xanthe Huynh was very distracting to hear it sounds like Sammy the Squirrel is 4 years old instead of 10 and for a person who mostly voiced anime characters it wasn't the best choice for Sammy the Squirrel honestly Carolyn Lawrence would have been much better. But Ogie Banks as Oliver Raccoon was the worst voice out of them all. To have a 49 year old dude voicing a 12 year old boy Raccoon was so disappointing to hear. It was juxtaposed and jarring to listen to and Ogie didn't capture the voice of Oliver Raccoon at all. It sounded more like Raphael from the 1987 Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles
Debi Derryberry or even Doug Lawrence would have done better. Did we really need to see Oliver's parents? Who look more like red pandas instead of raccoons. This movie felt like a bad mid 2000s post first movie SpongeBob episode a lot of scenes where unfunny and lame from below par animation bad character designs.
Six Point Harness, Anima Estudios, or Discreet Arts weren't the best animation studios for Greatwolflodge a family friendly resort to turn to they should have used Walt Disney Animation or even Illumination Entertainment at least they would have done a far better job instead of it being slipshod and shoddy like it was here. All I can say about this movie is very poorly produced and badly done. It should have never existed and Greatwolflodge should have never noise dived into an atrocious film of this caliber.
