The Phoenix (1981–1982)

A great plot

I remember trying to watch all the episodes I could but only seeing about 7. His powers were awsome and the expanding plot made it look like they were going to be space aliens (which was an excellent plot in my book at the time). I still wish it had time for more plot development about: his girl friend not being at the spot she was frozen at (his enemy lying claim to it), him not wanting any knowledge of his being up and about (blearing a photo that a kid took at a ranch he was working at), and the cave having the pictures of space men with him saying they were about his people. This wasnt like the show Starman which in my opion was a road show, but it had more story plot underneth it than just lets find my wife. So if they ever release it on DVD (pray pray) then I would definitely buy it (more praying).

One of my favorite shows

This is a show I wish had played long than just two seasons. It had my favorite song and theme (normal person gets a great power for good). The idea aliens gave him the suit was interesting also that they had been doing it for a long time (they ran into a old hero with the same type suit turned bad)I was young when I watched it so I don't remember much*shrug* but I tried to watch every episode I could find. I wish they would bring out dvd seasons as well. I loved his trying to learn to fly in the pilot and the kids teaching him.

There was a series on Disney channel for a while I don't know for a fact they used the shows for this tape but from the style of it I would have to say yes. The tape wasn't bad in itself but I would say that it wasn't a full fledge movie. I would say if you like series tapes then you will like it but if you expect a full movie like the theater then you may be let down.

Better the second time around

The movie was much better than the first and reminds me more of the original series and fortunatly thats the only drawback to a great movie that I sat there (my second time :) and counted all the almost direct quotes and "forshadows" of the original trilogy some were good foreshadows some would be plagerised (if it were not his films to start) but I will not tell you my count you will have to see it to find out yourself :

This was a good show wished it had lasted longer. I guess it could be considered the forunner of the "real life" shows of today. They didn't have the time to build a solid foundation of story plots (the actual organization, the overall enemy) or even set it up as a "Twilight Zone" for the James Bond types :) I hope they will release it as a "Series that didnt run long" event some time.
