Meteorites! (1998 TV Movie)

Not bad, but is mostly dull for the most part.

Another forgettable made for TV disaster movie that wasn't that impressive. The story itself is rather generic and doesn't do anything interesting in it. It's your usual stuff with strange disaster that happen, the mayor refused to listen, and people studying stuff until find out the answer. There's also a couple of side plots that goes no where interesting and is easily forget about. The characters are mostly cliches that you see in other disaster movies out there and the acting is wooden. There is nothing memorable to even remember about this movie because its mostly stuff you see before.

The disaster scenes has some good explosion in it and shows the damage it can cause. But its mostly the same with each one of them.

Meteorites! Is a movie that is best forgotten on how dull it is.

Children of the Corn: Runaway (2018 Video)

Good potential, but another bad Children of the Corn movie

It's better than Genesis, but it is far from a good movie. I do think it's interesting how they have one character from the original short story to be the star of the movie. The actual story is mostly her trying to live a normal life while trying to keep her past away from her son. I do like the idea of a past member trying to get away from the cult and try to start off fresh. But the results are done pretty poorly on how it was executed. There's not that much build-up towards her starting to lose herself, and the paranoid stuff happens pretty quickly. The movie gets pretty predictable with the stuff that happen and isn't that surprising. I do think it could have worked for a psychological horror movie, but it is not that effective enough. And the ending to be confusing and anticlimactic. The characters have good intentions but aren't executed well. Ruth is a main character who used to be a member of the cult but managed to escape from it. She has good intentions to be a flesh-out character, but her execution is poorly on how she feels one-dimensional and isn't that likable to hope that she finally gets a new life.

Children of the Corn: Runaway is slightly better, but it is a movie that is best forgotten.

Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995)

More enjoyable than the 2nd movie

I found this sequel to be more enjoyable compared to the previous movie. The story is interesting with the main character had to do task for a terrorist named Simon so he won't blow up more places. When we first meet John Mclane, he's not doing to well in his life with him become drunk and separated from his family. It does build up the character on how he have to set up his game in order to keep Simon for doing his plan. Also, he meets with Zeus Carver who Simon decides to have him in the is game with John. I do like the relationship with John and Zeus on how they don't like each others, but soon like each other throughout the movie. Both actors does a great job with their relationship in the movie. The villain actual have a connection with him that reveal in the middle of the movie and is interesting to learn about it.

The movie still does a great job with its action scenes on how suspenseful it is and the choreography fight is done really well. Also, there's a lot of destruction that happen in the city that shows how this is a serious threat.

Overall, it's a fun movie to rewatch again.

Children of the Corn: Genesis (2011)

The worst in the franchise.

This is even worse compared to the previous movie that I reviewed. This is the only movie that doesn't have any children as the main focus with exceptions in the opening, dream sequence, and the ending. The story is nothing interesting to talk about and is rather boring. It's mostly the characters who get lost, go to a house, notice something suspicious, and get trapped. I don't even know why they made this movie like this and add nothing new to the franchise. The whole supernatural force isn't that effective because it mostly forces the main characters to stay in the house for no reason and feels unnecessary. Also, it spends a lot of time with exposition dialogue that gets boring quickly and isn't anything too interesting to learn about. And the movie has an anticlimactic ending to it. I am going to skip the characters because all of them are rather boring and aren't that interesting to talk about. And the acting itself sucks.

Children of the Corn: Genesis is the worst compared to the previous movie. I do not recommend this movie at all.

Haunted Mansion (2023)

An alright attempt for another Haunted Mansion movie

I can't say this movie is better than the previous movie, but the results are alright. The story is standard with a group of different characters came to this mansion and try to figure out what going on. My biggest problem with the movie is that it feels too long for a 2 hour movie. What I mean is that current scenes feel like it drags on a little bit too long and a pacing is off on how things happen pretty quickly or too long. It feel like they could easily cut some parts out of the movie and some of it feels unnecessary to the main plot and will not effect it. The characters themselves do have depth to them and some has backstories. But the acting is hit or miss for the most part. Actors like LaKeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jared Leto does a pretty good job in the movie and give the characters depth in it. But some of them feel like they are trying way too hard and overact in parts of the movie.

I do like the many references of the ride that you see throughout the movie and is pretty interesting. The visual effects looks pretty good on how the ghost look and the stuff that goes on in the mansion looks pretty cool looking. I also like the villain design of the movie that looks cool and pretty memorable.

Overall, this movie is a mixed bag of positive and negative all together.

Children of the Corn (2009 TV Movie)

Faithful, but an boring remake

I found this remake to a pretty boring for the most part. The story is pretty faithful to the original short story, which is interesting that they acutal did that. But it doesn't change the fact that it's poorly executed. There barely anything happened in the movie with the couple arguing with each others which gets annoying quickly, them wandering around the abandoned town, and Burt getting chased by the kids. I found no suspense or atmosphere to be found in this movie because it happened way too quickly and lacked any tension from the 1984 movie. Also, they add in random things like nightmares, which aren't that creepy at all. The movie itself feels like it drags on too long with its chase scenes, which feels too long for a short movie. While the climax itself is basically the short story ending, it could have been better. I found all of the characters to be pretty badly executed in this movie. Even the special effects aren't that impressive at all. But I do think the set design looks decent for the most part with it looking like an abandoned town.

Overall, the movie is a boring remake that is faithful but is badly executed.

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988)

Very entertaining movie that I watched.

I have a lot of fun watching this movie throughout. The movie itself does a great job being a spoof with the execution of it. It does a great job on the comedy it presented here and is very memorable when you first see it. I laugh at a lot of humor it presented here and its shows how it can have fun with it itself without being serious. Leslie Nielsen does an amazing job with the performance he does and such a funny guy throughout the movie. The other actors does a great job in the movie and are pretty memorable throughout. Also, the movie shows how random it can be with its humor it has in it.

Overall, it's a very entertaining movie to rewatched again.

Children of the Corn: Revelation (2001 Video)

You can tell that they are running out of ideas for the franchise.

I don't know why they keep having the plot with the main character looking for one of their family members and discovering the cult. Because it gets tried some to have the same thing for three movies and adds nothing new to the franchise. It really shows how filmmakers are running out of ideas for the franchise and just come up with random ideas. There's really nothing interesting to be found in this movie because it's mostly the same thing but takes place in an apartment building. They try to have some backstories, but it the same compared to other in the franchise. The movie is not enjoyable at all, and the climax itself is anticlimactic. Do I need to say anything about the characters. Because some of them are just there for the body count and the ones who aren't isn't that interesting. Also, the movie uses some stupid stock sound effects you sometimes hear throughout the movie.

Overall, it is a really bland sequel that doesn't do anything new to the franchise and is best forgotten.

Olympus Has Fallen (2013)

Pretty fun action movie to watch

While its not the strongest that I seen, it still a fun watch. The story is generic with a terrorist group attack a current spot while one guy have to stop them. It pretty predictable throughout and goes through the same tropes just like any action movies out there. The movie is build up pretty well with the terrorist going to strike and take the president hostage. I found the movie suspenseful with the amount of action scenes it presented here and its fun to watch those scenes. The characters themselves aren't the most flesh out and Mike Banning seem similar to John McClane from Die Hard. But the acting is done really well by Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, & Morgan Freeman. There is a lot of great special effects to be found in the movie like the destruction of the white house and the explosion you see throughout the movie. I found the cinematography to be done really well in the action scenes.

Overall, it's rather generic, but is a enjoyable movie.

Anna's Storm (2007 TV Movie)

It feels pretty flat for the most of the time

While not a bad disaster movie, this one isn't that memorable or enjoyable. It seems like these type of disaster movies like to use grieving of a deceased family member onto it itself. Which isn't a bad idea, but here they don't developed into it and the parts where the main character see her deceased son is barely use. It easily predictable with on who going to survive and the outcome of it. Also, the whole missing daughter plotline isn't that interesting because it feels like a afterthought and the results happen pretty quickly. The movie does try to do drama in it, but its your usual stuff you see in any movies out there. And it ends in a anticlimactic way.

I found the disaster scenes to be decent with a couple of good explosion in it and shows the damage it cause, but with limited budget to it.

Overall, it's a pretty forgettable movie.

Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return (1999 Video)

Good potential, but the results is mediocre

It's better than the previous movie, but it is still not good. I do like how the movie is connected with the first movie with the return of the town and Isaac. Although it never explained how Issac possession is gone and survive it. The story itself isn't that interesting because it is mostly a young woman who goes back to the town and searches for her mother. That plotline is predictable and doesn't have that much to offer. I do like the scenes with Issac with his dialogue and actions he has throughout the movie. But the movie itself isn't that enjoyable because things happen pretty quickly and isn't that suspenseful at all. I found the climax to be the most disappointing I have ever seen from the franchise, and Issac fate is underwhelming. While the kills are graphic and contain pretty good practical gore effects. None of them are outstanding or bizarre compared to the previous movies.

Police Academy (1984)

80's movie that has charm to it

This is a example of a comedy that is enjoyable depend of the type of comedy you in too. I found the movie to be fun to watch on how you don't take it serious and to have fun with it. The story itself is creative with outcasts and randoms joining the police academy to become police officers. I works pretty well on the execution of it and the movie plays into their personality. The characters themselves are memorable with how each one of them are different and having something to them that give them charm to them. Also, the acting is done pretty well in the movie. I found the comedy to be a hit or miss with a couple of funny moments and lines in it with its slapstick humor and performance by the actors. While some of it doesn't age well due to when the movie was released. But it shows how the filmmakers have fun making this movie with it being a comedy.

Overall, it's a fun movie to watch.

Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (1998 Video)

It barley does anything new with the franchise

For the 5th movie goes, this is a pretty bad movie. The story is kind of the same, but it isn't that similar compared to the previous movies. The movie tries to add something new, like the main character looking for her brother, and there's an adult leader in the cult. Other than that, the movie is mostly uninteresting because it doesn't do anything new with the franchise and is pretty dull throughout. Also, current things feel like they rush like sheriff, who knows something is going on, and even the adult leader feels like an afterthought. I don't even know what to take from this movie because it is another Children of the Corn movie that tries something new but ends up failing with itself. The climax itself is underwhelming and anticlimactic. I have little to say about the characters because none of them show any reason why should we feel for them. It barely does something new with the franchise and is overall a dull movie.

Children of the Corn: The Gathering (1996 Video)

Watchable and a little bit better compared to the previous movie

It's not a bad movie, but it is still not good. The story try to do something different with the child preacher appearing less, and the children are changing due to a mysterious illness they got. I found the mysterious illness to be decent on how the children change into cult members due to it, and is build up is decent. Also, I found pretty good build up towards each of the death scenes that have decent tension to it. There's also a couple of ideas that could be expanded on, like the blood test and the character Rose could have more screen time because she knows what is going on around the town and gives an interesting backstory. Other than that, the movie itself feels like it rushing itself on how things happened pretty quickly, and even the climax feels rushed and is anticlimactic. Also, the nightmare scenes get pretty repetitive throughout. The characters themselves aren't the worst but are pretty bland. I kind of wish we could see more development towards June and why she is having these nightmares in the first place. It contains pretty good practical gore effects and is effective.

Children of the Corn 4: The Gathering is an alright movie that contains brutal kills and some interesting ideas, but isn't that good compared to the first two movies.

Die Hard 2 (1990)

Fun sequel, but doesn't beat the first movie

I found the movie to be fun, but isn't great compared to the first movie. The story is somewhat similar to the first movie instead of taking place on an airport. It goes through the same things like the previous movie and isn't that memorable. The highlight are the action scenes which are enjoyable to watch with the amount of suspense and tension to be found in the movie. It is fun to watch the character fighting against the villain and him trying to survive or save people. It also contains pretty good explosion to be found in it. Bruce Willis is still a great actor with his charisma and humor he has throughout the movie. I found the new characters aren't that good compared to the previous movie because most of them are somewhat similar to the one from the first movie and isn't that interesting. Even the villains aren't that memorable compare to the first movie villains.

Overall, it's a fun sequel to watch with a couple of people.

Speed (1994)

Fun action movie I have watched

I have a lot of fun watching the movie throughout. The story is interesting on how the main character trying to save people on the bus due to a bomb on it. There also some runs like how he has to keep the bus speed over fifty and don't let anyone off the bus. I like the opening by showing how the main character do his job by saving people on a elevator. The movie is build up really well by him discovering the villain is still alive and him trying to get onto the bus. It contain a lot of great action scene with impressive stunts from the characters and even the bus has good stunts onto it. The movie contains great cinematography to itself on making the movie suspenseful and intense on the situation the characters are in. Also, it contains great actors in the movie like Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, & Sandra Bullock. The movie contains a lot of destruction which looks pretty impressive and shows the danger the characters are in.

Overall, its a fun movie.

Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995)

Try something new, but the results is pretty bad

I didn't like this movie and it wasn't fun at all. The story is different, with two brothers entering into a modern setting where the younger brother is starting the cult again. I give credit that it does something different compared to the previous movies, but it's not that good. It feels like current scenes felt rushed like Eli gaining a cult pretty quickly and how he has powers for some reason without any build-up. The movie contains a couple of bizarre stuff that happened, but isn't that outstanding or memorable. Also, there's a couple of side plots that go nowhere interesting, like William Porter wants to ship the corn to other countries. The climax itself is decent on what happened during it, but the way it ends is anticlimactic. None of the characters stand out from the rest and are pretty bland. The effects range from decent to looking pretty bad, like the face melting just looks awkward. The best effects come from the climax, which looks pretty impressive, but no spoilers.

Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1992)

The only enjoyable movie in the franchise

I found this more entertaining than the first movie. The story is kind of similar to the first movie with a couple of differences, like a reporter investigating the recent events and the cult killing the adults in the town. I found the investigating plotline to be a mixed bag with him learning more about the supernatural elements of the movie, but isn't that flesh-out. The movie contains a couple of bizarre moments that are interesting and unique to see over how it is different compared to the previous movie. There's also a couple of side plots that go nowhere interesting. The climax itself is pretty decent on the suspense that happens and how bizarre it gets towards the end of it.

Children of the Corn (1984)

Falls into the middle of Stephen King movies

I found this to be a decent adaptation of the novel. The story is interesting with children who listen to Issac about "He Who Walks Behind the Rows" and do things that he told them to do. It's interesting to learn about what Issac preach to the kids and the stuff they do throughout the movie. The movie has an eerie vibe to it with its abandoned places that the children overrun and the atmosphere pretty well with the tone it is going for. Unfortunately, the scenes with the couple aren't that interesting because they are mostly them wandering around current places of the town and encountering cheap jump scares. I kind of wish we could see more of Issac and the group and expand on them. The climax itself is both bizarre and gets pretty ridiculous on what happened during it. But the movie ends abruptly with it, which is disappointing.

Isaac Chroner is the main villain of the movie, who is the leader of the cult, and got them to do his dirty work for the things he said to them. He easily said the best character in the movie with the dialogue he said throughout the movie and how he threatened the tasks he gave to the kids. John Franklin does a great job playing as the character with the performance he gives out throughout the movie.

Lethal Weapon (1987)

Buddy cop movie that has charm to it

I found this to be a pretty enjoyable movie. While the story is your standard buddy cop movie, I really like the relationship between the two main characters of the movie. It shows how both of them are different compared to each others and the way they do their jobs. The movie is build up with their relationship on how first they don't like each others, but soon grows a friendship with each others. The acting from Gibson and Glover are great on how their performance and giving the characters depth in the movie. Also, the movie contains pretty entertaining action scenes that are suspenseful and fun to watch. As for the comedy, that part I have mixed thoughts about. While there are a couple of funny moments, I didn't know what type of comedy its going for on how most of the movie is serious.

Overall, its a fun movie.

The Changeling (1980)

Atmospheric and Effective horror movie

I found this to be a pretty effective and interesting supernatural horror movie. While the story is your standard haunted mansion, I really do like the whole mystery over the ghost who haunted this mansion. The movie builds up really well with the supernatural starting to happened and the main character discovers the truth behind something. It's interesting to learn about the stuff that he finds throughout the movie and the truth behind a current family. The movie does have an effective atmosphere with its sound designed and tension during the supernatural scenes throughout. And the revealed of the movie is pretty interesting and has a suspenseful climax to it.

Men in Black (1997)

Fun and entertaining movie that have a charm to it

I have fun watching this movie throughout. The story is interesting with a cop joins the Men in Black who deal with aliens who roam around Earth. I found the movie to be entertaining with the idea that is executed really well with the amount of humor and action that happen in it. I really like the different types of aliens that we see throughout the movie and the design of them are pretty creative and detail. The relationship between Agent K & Agent J is really great on how each one of them plays the polar opposite of the more experience one and the rookie. Both Tommy Lee Jones and William Smith does a great job with their performance they play in the movie and does a great job with the chemistry between them. Also, the movie has enjoyable action scenes that has tension to them and is fun to watch those scenes.

Overall, it's a fun movie.

Atomic Twister (2002 TV Movie)

Somewhat enjoyable TV disaster movie

I found this to be a enjoyable bad disaster movie. The movie combines both tornados and nuclear meltdown together the results is a complete mess. There are so many plotlines that goes on in the movie that makes the movie hard to figure out which direction its going for. Also, each one of them is easily predictable to know how they will turn out and isn't that surprising at all. Even the characters themselves are rather generic and bland throughout the movie. I also have questions on if the decisions they made in the movie is possible or not because this movie doesn't do a good job with realism. But the disaster scenes to be enjoyable on the amount of tension that goes into it, even though the effects aren't that impressive. The plot could have work, but its not that executed well.

Overall its enjoyable, but far from a good movie.

Swamp Devil (2008)

Interesting monster choice, but flat movie.

This is a really flat movie that I have seen, but it's not the worst in the series. There's not that much to the story because not that happened other than the characters are hunting for someone and discovered a truth. The whole plotline about the father accused of murder ended pretty quickly because the movie shows the monster pretty early, so we already know that his not the murderer. Most of the movie isn't that interesting to watch because there's little interesting ideas to be found in this movie and is really dull for most of the time. The scenes with the creature aren't that exciting because he doesn't do that much other than shooting vines at his victims and twisting with it. It is really obvious what it is. The climax itself is underwhelming, and I didn't like how the movie ended. I do think it's interesting to have a swamp creature as the villain because movies rarely use it. The creature does have a unique design on it, but the CGI doesn't look impressive at all. There's also a backstory to it, but I wish it was flesh-out more to be interesting and have more details to it.

Pacific Rim (2013)

Mindless fun Robot vs. Kaiju movie

I have fun watching this movie throughout and is really entertaining. The idea is awesome with characters use big robots to fight against kaiju. I really love how they come up with the idea of it and it was executed really well. It really show how much work the filmmakers up into this movie like the script, visual effects and the action scenes. The action scenes are a highlight of the movie with the Jaegers fighting against the kaiju and we see the different types of weapons it have in it. Also, the visual effects looks amazing with the amount of details they put onto the kaiju and Jaegers that looks awesome. The characters themselves has depth to them and are pretty interesting to learn about throughout the movie. And the acting is also done really well too.

Overall, it's a fun movie that is entertaining to watch.
