Christina (2010)
Fantastic job of acting, could not turn it off
This has got to be one among the best jobs of acting I've seen, especially when the play consisted of just three actors. I say a play because I felt like I was at a play and not watching a movie. It was awesome. Nicki Aycox did such a great job in the lead role, and Jordan Belfi and Stephen Lang were great in their respective roles. The whole movie occurs in one room, and starts like you know know what's going to happen, but as it goes on, it builds up into a mystery and you don't know what's really going. The actors really make you feel like you are there, right at the end of World War 2 in Germany. You get pulled into the characters lives and it makes you think and feel about what their lives were like, and makes you think hard about the story. Great job, well done. Thank you!
Christmas in the Smokies (2015)
Great family Christmas movie!
This is a good clean, funny family movie. It made me laugh a bunch of times. The scenery and music are nice. Nice story. Shot in the USA, the actors are believable. It's your typical story about a small town with a family that stands to lose their farm, and long, lost boyfriend who becomes a country music star. He left a girlfriend behind and comes back. The mortgage is due soon, and there's a guy who stands to get the farm and develop the land with jobs for everyone. The people of the town don't like it but can't do anything about it. The family decides to get the country singer to give a concert and they get some money but not enough, but someone gives them a contract to buy the preserves they make and that saves the day! Sounds typical, but you know what, I like it! It's nice to have these positive stories this time of year!
Sound of Freedom (2023)
Gotta see this
I went to see this movie based on recommendations by others, and was told it was a hard movie to watch and left them feeling very disturbed. They were right. Sound of Freedom is based on a true story and you cannot leave this movie not feeling disturbed. Sound of Freedom does a great job of introducing you to the horrid world of child sex trafficking, the extent of which I really had no knowledge of. It does so in a way that does not show any sex acts but leaves you in no doubt of what is going on. The characters are believable, with exceptional performances by the child actors involved. The lead and supporting characters do a great job of acting and getting you involved with the story. When I left the movie, I immediately told my friends about it and even told some people in the grocery store about it (something I'd never done before).
