Just Married (2003)
a let down from what I had hoped for
someone near and dear to me had described this movie to me as: "dude, where's my dildo?" This description could not be more wrong. I guess it does take "a lot" to live "up" to Dude Where's My Car? but this movie sure as hell did not. There was no humour. I guess it was aimed more at preteens who couldn't tell that these two weren't really in love enough toio stay together. What kind of an ass goes to watch sports on his honeymoon? That was stupid. I don't think that watching this movie was worth doing, in fact I would say that it's worth NOT doing. The Europe bashing was quite foolish. Any European character was portrayed to be either dainty, stuck up, or assholish. I don't know any Europeans personally, but I can safely assume that not all of them are as stereotypical as this movie would portray. This is a callous, insipid, crass, banal, inaccurate, humourless train wreck of a crap factory that I am really happy I didn't pay to see. I hate it. Also, the little car he was driving wouldn't sound like it did, his dodge would sound more like that.
Futurama (1999)
Best Show Ever
Matt Groening has made the best show ever with this one! It's good enough he still makes Simpsons episodes after 11 years, but then he made an awesome "modern humored" update of the Jetsons, (but it's kind of like Blade Runner and Star Trek at the same time). Every character is a real doozey! First of all we have Fry, a stupid delivery boy who's frozen and wakes up in 1000 years to meet: a bossy, sexy cyclops named Leela, a rude boozing robot Bender, along with a neglected stinking penniless inept lobster named Dr. Zoidberg, a work obsessed bureaucrat named Hermes Conrad, a fun loving engineering student named Amy; and of course, a mad scientist named Professor Farnsworth. Every character on the show is stupid, and hilarious! The animation is the best of anything ever produced for television. Katey Sagal is great as Leela. Billy West shows his considerable genius doing the voices of Fry, Zoidberg and the Proffessor. On this show, most planets have numbers (mostly 8 or 12) this is a parody of how this is done in every other science fiction show. Futurama features terrible and bad influential people, great acting, excellent stories and a tonne of good animation.
So catch this show if possible!!
The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
This is not a good one really
Really, if you want to watch one thats not a good one, watch this one because it's not. It starts off and you can tell there wont be enough fighting. I preferred school of rock really. Someone should make a rule against these guys who make movies just to make money because this one really grabbed the boat there. talk to someone you respect about their opinion of the movie because if you dont you will really see one thats really bad, really. it just goes on and on and you should think it wont but it does and in the end theres not enough fighting. shame on the script of course, and the underground stuff was pure garbage too. I think that all copies of this movie should be collected and sent into space... preferably into a black hole rather than a star because that way the atoms that the movie encoded on wont be around anymore either, they will just be energy in a singularity. Anyways, enough digression, MORE FIGHTING!
The Best Damn Fiddler from Calabogie to Kaladar (1969)
A good one about the Ottawa Valley
An excellent movie to watch if you have ever been to the Ottawa Valley. The part with the daughter going to work for Bell was really good because women actually do that there. Very pragmatic. I loved the scene with all of the kids going into the back of the truck, it may seem like a bit much, but some people like to have a tonne of children, but the daughter was right, no point havin' kids when you could be in Ottawa working for Bell. 160 Elgin Street, it's ok.
