An objectively bad movie, but i still like it

Warning: Spoilers
THE GOOD _THE TRAINS: The magic of Thomas & Friends lies in the trains. Not only in the sets and the models, but also the characters, whose personalities in the film are consistent with how they are in the original series. And the voices of the engines are quite adequate (except James's) and the actors do it very well.

_CHARACTERS INTRODUCED: Diesel 10 is one of the best things that came out of this movie, not only is a terrifying villain, but he also gets to be a little bit comic. There's also Lady, who not only has a beautiful design, but whose personality is kind and angelical. And even Splatter & Dodge, who have a carism that makes a fun contrast to Diesel 10. All characters with a lot of potential but unfortunately that were not really appreciated later.

_THE SCORE: The music composed by Hummie Mann is not only fantastic, but it also fits perfectly with several happy moments and also with the dramatic ones of the film like the final chase. And i also liked the original songs heard in certain scenes

THE BAD _THE PLOT IS CONFUSING: Although in my opinion the story of the film is interesting, it has several elements that are difficult to understand and leaves us with several unanswered questions.

_MORE HUMANS THAN TRAINS: Being a Thomas & Friends movie, Thomas obviously should be the main character of the film (but not forgetting other engines). However, the film focuses more on the human characters than on the trains, who should be the real protagonists as well as in the original series.

_THE MAGIC ELEMENT: Something that made the original series special was the fact that it felt realistic. Not only because of the models and settings, but also because it showed us trains acting like real engines instead of humans like in Cars, and the Island of Sodor could feel like a real place. But in this movie we are told that the trains are alive because of a magical engine, they move by themselves without drivers, and the Island of Sodor is a magical land in a different dimension. Something that somehow betrays the essence of the original series.

Although the movie is objectively bad, I must admit that I like it. Largely for nostalgia and because I love the original series (especially the models era). However, is undeniable the mistakes it has and the failure it meant for the show. But I do not consider it a terrible movie as many say, it simply does not work as a Thomas & Friends movie.
